HOLY SHIT! Holy Anointing Oil from Exodus.

I have a couple questions regarding the strengths of the essential oils being added.

I was able to source a few of these oils locally but they don't seem to be highly concentrated. Many of the cinnamon and myrrh oils i could find were mixed with alcohol

http://www.naturesanswer.com/p-774-myrrh-oleo-gum-resin-1oz.aspx

http://www.naturesanswer.com/p-566-cinnamon-bark-1oz.aspx

Would these suffice? Or should I be finding purer extracts.

What strengths are the cinnamon and myrrh oils that you are using?

I have made one batch (worked wonderfully) with what I could find but would like to improve / correct my second attempt.

Thank you so much for this recipe and any help :huggg:

Oh wow, that's super concentrate with oil, is it possible dilute with a bit more glycol? How long until it takes effect when rubbed on skin?

You can dilute it, but why would you want to? I would just use less, as the other ingredients are already diluting it.

It takes effect within three or four minutes.

Cinnamon bark and leaf oils are known skin sensitizers, so diluting it may be better for those with sensitive skin.

yeah it can tingle a bit on the face, but it's not a bad feeling, you feel it working like that lol.

i saw some testimonials about medical use of cannabis tinctures, on burns, arthritis and some other conditions, this guy was claiming that his tincture didnt contain much thc at all and it seemed to help people in minutes. but you can't be sure it wasn't faked though, but if true was impressive..

Above 1% concentration can burn the skin, so it is important to keep track of ratios.

It is actually the CBD which activates the CB-2 receptors of the immune system, so it may be true.

Probably, but we get killer oil from high THC strain fan leaves and stems too, just not very much.

It isn't subtle, so if you just use what you got, I predict that you won't be disappointed.

This was my thought process - I got several Reserva Privada packs of seeds, most notably Lucy (Luca Brasi x LA Confidential) which apparently tests out at 8-12% CBD and 15-18% THC. I would love to use only this strain for a high CBD HOA. Info here for the strain,

All in time though, I won't be able to run these seeds for several months time at least.

Since the cinnamon can act as a skin irritant, I wonder if the role it plays here is as a vasodilater to increase surface blood flow and enhance absorption?

I'm thinking that is one of its functions and according to Aroma Therapy folks (The chemistry of essential oils made simple, David Stewart), the monoterpene phenols also clean the receptor sites of partially dismantled neurotransmitters, as the body uptakes them. This makes them again available for a new neurotransmitter.

^Cinnamon is a natural activator for caffeine. if you mix the two the caffeine becomes much stronger. Maybe this works similar with other things like cannabinoids.

Just made a batch of this.
Used 10g oil made from outdoor trim and denatured alcohol. (A friend made it)
Followed directions, and i see what GW talks about with black oils being hard to mix.
First i decarbed the oil in the oven at 120c for about 30 mins til there were no more bubbling action.
Mixed with cocnut oil and then the rest of the oils...used peach flavoring oil.
I hate to say this, but the HSAO i made tastes awful..i even tried goin overboard with the peach flavoring, and it helped, but it still tastes awful.
Could it be from the oil being made with denatured alcohol? It was purged very well and decarbed in the oven..
The finished product has that unpalatable taste of raw hash oil and a burning sensation in the throat when u swallow it..fuck it ima do a few drops more and see how the potency is..

I can't imagine that it would taste good neat. Cinnamon leaf tastes like cloves and you wouldn't eat them by themselves. The eugenol in cinnamon leaf and cloves acts as an anesthetic and will numb your mouth in high concentrations. If you use it as a seasoning in recipes then it would probably taste good but it would probably be better to use as an ointment, to avoid the first pass through the liver.

Hash oil doesn't taste all that wonderful to most folks in concentration, and the cinnamon and myrrh help with that taste and aftertaste. Peach is probably way too subtle to accomplish that end.

I also used myrrh and cinnamon oils...but youre saying i need something more sweet tasting than the peach flavoring? It is pretty weak, so it might improve the taste if i add another flavoring component..any suggestions? Would orange oil be a better choice? I wasnt expecting the extract flavor to completely go away, but this seriously tastes like eating raw hash oil. I would like it to be disguised as much as possible tho..

GW, I think that you probably meant 500 shekels of cassia in your first post, rather than 24 500. It may have been a good idea to leave out the cassia in your formula because it contains large amounts of coumarin. To quote wiki...

European health agencies have warned against consuming high amounts of cassia bark, one of the four species of cinnamon, because of its coumarin content. According to the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BFR), 1 kg of (cassia) cinnamon powder contains approximately 2.1 to 4.4 g of coumarin. Powdered Cassia Cinnamon weighs 0.56 g/cc; therefore, 1 kg of Cassia Cinnamon powder is equal to 362.29 teaspoons (1000 g divided by 0.56 g/cc multiplied by 0.20288 tsp/cc). This means 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder contains 5.8 to 12.1 mg of coumarin, which may be above the Tolerable Daily Intake for smaller individuals.

I have both Ceylon cinnamon oil and cassia oil and the Ceylon cinnamon is much sweeter and pleasant. The cassia oil is alot stronger and darker in aroma and smells like those fireball gobstoppers. A little cassia might work well in the formula but it would probably smell better and be safer if the majority of the cinnamon was of the Ceylon variety.

Did you make the HAO or add the additional candy flavoring cinnamon oil to make Holy Shit?
