powder only, i start using it as soon as all buds are set and stretch has stopped, i take a gl jug and put about 1 inch of powder on the bottom and fill the jug half full and shake the living shit out of it, us my base nutes set to 1.2 ec then add enough booster to get in to 1.4 ec., do this the rest of flower with a 10 to 12 day flush with str8 tap water.

Looks nice and frosty, Jnugg! I'm sticking around till harvest. Decided to convert when my current grow is done, so it's great to see what can be achieved with a setup similar to mine! Keep it growing!

What's the main pro with vert bulb compared to the "normal" way? Is it alot of work to keep the plants at a good distance so they don't burn?

Easy,I'll break it down.

I have a 400w HPS in a 3x3 tent that is 6 feet tall.If I were doing a horizontal grow,I'd only have a 3x3 canopy (the maximum coverage of a 400w HPS),but by going vertical I can now utilize the walls so effectively I can now have four 3x3 canopies....makes sense to me...more canopy in the same size room By simply taking the bulb out of a horizontal reflector (which blasts radiant heat down on your plants) and hanging it bare bulb vertcal in the center.

Pro #1 : More canopy area in the same size room.
Pro#2 : Less radiant heat because of no reflector,so all heat just rises to the top of the tent/room near exhaust fan and filter.
Pro#3 : Less larf seeing as the light doesn't have to penetrate a very deep canopy as it would with a horizontal grow.

Shit is looking sweet man. I recently switched over to vert and i'm loving it. My new batch is only three weeks in , and by the looks of what you have, i should see some nice results from my set-up. Gonna try and remember to take some pics tonight, so you guys can see...

Definitley makes sense. Any cons?

there is literally none, you can set up a vert with pretty much nothing bulb ballast and a fan under it that's it, and kill it no height restrictions. No cooling hoods and extra fans for it. plus nice chunky buds all the way up the plant can't get any better than that IMHO.

Looking good JNUGG, have you started defoliateing yet? Let bud get nice and plump by getting more consintrated light to the buds by pulling unneeded leaves.

I plan on doing some defoliation tonight.I've been slowly taking foliage since the end of week 4 and chilled out weeks 5-6.Already have a few lower fans yellowing, they're first to go.

Swullen Mammaries !!!

Just an IMHO, no hijack here, but Vert/ BARE bulb has not only changed my view on yields, but has made me yields.
I remember getting a 600 HPS Lumatec after a generic 400, and I was a fucking Jedi then. NOW, i am a JEDI with 2 600's and the sky is the limit.

* Reason being... A bare bulb casts NO reflection upon itself. A hooded lamps is HALF as effective because of a reflective "blocker" .ie: 100 % use of light ( for it's surroundings )vs. @ 65% ( for a 2 dimensional plane )
