just like a lot of SOCIAL conservatives i know. i constantly have to remind them they are entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts.

based on population alone, the majority may in fact have been from urban areas, but the poll says STATEWIDE, so that does include the undereducated rural folks too.

look, i don't trust the govt at all. in fact if D.C. got wiped off the map, i would not lose a wink of sleep, but the fact remains that the majority of americans now accept MMJ as medicine. in fact an overwhelming amount (80%) accept that.

well that is, except for the DEA, Justice Dept, Congress and the executive branch. oh and the NIDA.

I bet if I went and interviewed police officers all across the state I could find at least 70 percent that were against MMJ and I could also say it was statewide.... I could even honestly not even have to note they were all cops... Pick and choose pick and choose. Asheville, Raleigh and Charlotte are statewide...

Unlike yourself I adapt to the conditions I am in. My attitude reflects the reality of whereever I am at. Always have been able to do rapid adaption. When in Rome do as the Romans do. The country I have in mind allows growing Marijuana for personal use with no permits but will give you 8 years in a third world prison for dealing. I am fine with that. I have no problem inviting people over so we can get blazed in shade under the veranda... Just a few more years and I will have all the money saved to go and never return. Not even to visit. Unlike you I see America as becoming more of a Prison.

I believe a popular vote would win the contest in favor of MMJ. I live just west of Hickory and even here in the foothills most people believe MJ has medical validity. Most of those who do not..well...they wont be around forever. This issue is in the pocket of the NC bureaucratic brotherhood. Plain and simple.

I know that's right! I live in a much more conservative area than that, and at least half my neighbors either use it themselves or don't care. It's the bureaucratic brotherhood at its worst.

The prisons are third world. Pay attention to the wording will you. The Country is a 2nd world country one of the better ones at that and every local I have spoken to is proud of it. They are also proud to have hellish prisons. They say there are very few repeat offenders.. The biggest crime wave this year in the City where I am settling with 250,000 people: 253 cases of pickpocketing the half a million or so tourists that visit for 3 months of the year. No Murders and approximately 150 cars stolen last year. 6 burglaries no less.

Where do you think I learned the term??? From the Locals of course. They regard the surrounding countries as third worlds but they know they are not quite up to Western standards of a 1st world income wise. You seem some people do not lie to themselves...

If North Carolina wanted MMJ legalization they would get it one way or another and the Legislature would mean nothing.. The fact is there are very few people who actually object to the way things are now. Would people like to see things changed well sure but it is no big wheel spinning hurry because it is not affecting them very much... If you want to see a Rise out of North Carolinians try raising the Income tax, Sales or Petrol tax... Some people have priorities other than Marijuana. To most Marijuana is an extra curricular activity much like drinking beer is... Its nice and fun to do but its not the end all. There are quite a few things that are magnitudes more important than getting high.

I could picture you at the store as a teenager throwing a tantrum because mommy does not buy you nail polish. Core beliefs among people Do Not Change with adulthood.
