My little forrest of AK-47s....hopefully :0)

I wanted to add a comment.

The AKs are performing much better in how they are developing, with much
more growth along the main stem, where the Somangos are already getting
lanky.

I am going to set the Somangos along one row on the side of the tent, and allow
the AK-47 to develop without their shade.

Here are two examples, taken today:
AK: structure-AK.jpg Somango: structure-Somango.jpg

This photo of an AK, taken a few days ago, shows their structure better:
structure-AK2.jpg

I also added pull-ups to my panel of T-8s. I can get the lights closer
much easier now:

Hey JD, I like your approach and style. Keep it flowing!

I'm a first-time grower, and a micro grower at that, so can't really comment on your ladies. But I do know photography, so...

It looks like you figured out that it's better to post pictures to an album, and include them in your posts that way.

Now, this is a matter of personal style, but when you insert the images, you have the "as" dropdown set to "Thumbnail, linked to original". This gives you something like this:
<- you have to click to see the full size image.

But you have some great photos, and those thumbnails don't do them justice. If you select "Original only" then you get this:
picture.php

Much nicer, in my opinion, and perfect for lazy readers. :dance013:

Thanks Jnugg. Week #2 of flower ended today, and the ladies are really starting to take
off. I see that the recent feeding, where I started adding bloom additives, is starting to
show, as there are buds everywhere.

This is going to be good, mostly because I am going to leave these until they disappear under
the crystals....well, unless too many are yellowing. :0)

I am insisting on this extra patience after Crop #1 was rushed off the field and
out of the tent by an ill timed Crop #2.

I still got so much that I can do dumb things with otherwise perfect buds:

:0)

Hey Quinoa, thanks for the tip. I will start working with albums more.
...and your little guy is quite handsome. I love trees...that's one, right?

Take care all,

JD

P.S. A peek at the ladies tonight:

Ha ha, word! I can't wait to get to that point.

It's quinoa, actually. I planted it to test out a Rubbermaid tub before
I had anything more interesting to grow instead.

I checked the thread. It was funny, but brilliant, that you even started to LST the little thing.
This allowed you to check your system. Great idea.

Good luck,

JD

Welcome Femora. I have appreciated your thoughts and attitude on other threads.

Week two from flip is over. They are growing very fast right now, but the AKs seem to
be making the lollipops that I am hoping for.

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

The Somangos are very lanky. You can see a few of them along the wall:

While it is not entirely clear against this background, these AKs are going
to turn into giant budsicles:

Now, questions.

I intend to trim lower growth on these plants at some point.

1. I believe that there are periods in the grow cycle when this sort of trimming
can cause more shock and negative reaction from the plants. Can you confirm,
and when?

2. How much do you think that I should be taking?

Here is a photo that suggests where I would trim:

(the arrow points at the first "keeper" growth)

You can see the situation, at 16 days since flip, that I am dealing with:

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

I went ahead and took a few pictures for an update-post.

I had thought to skip a week, but there has been enough
growth to be worth your time.

Here is a peek inside the tent:

The Somangos are lanky, but looking to get frosty in time as well:

The Mothers are in the 4-5' range, and if I can keep the Kessils on
them then they might make some massive buds:

Hello all,

Well, today marked the end of Week Four. I took some photos
when I fed/watered yesterday and thought to make a brief update.

The AK-47s are turning into budsicles nicely, with some having the
buds already connecting. Much growth and fattening remains.

Here is a shot of the tent, with some of the ladies removed to
allow me to get at them all. (I have a bottle-on-a-pole that I can
and have used, but I wanted to give them all a once-over)

WholeTent-DuringWatering.jpg

You can see that AK near the front is nicely filled in.

Somango is still being Somango :0)
SomangoBeingSomango.jpg
I bet it makes some fun nugs though.

Now, this is going to seem odd, but I have a plan. I tied the two
large mothers in the tent up so that the branches all point up.

Here is a close up of the Somango:
TiedUpMother1.jpg
and the whole plant:
TiedUpMother2.jpg

Now each mother has it's own dedicated Kessil 350. I expect that
this will amount to what it would get from the HPS, especially since
I have to keep them pushed into the corners.

That is all I have for right now.

Take care,

JD

I know MT, I was thinking the same thing. They are finally starting to pile up on some
of the plants. I just need to locate the camera....it vanished during/after a family event
recently. ;0)

I will post an update for five weeks in any case, and a few good bud shots the moment
I find the thing.

I really appreciate the attention.

Take care,

JD

Hello all,

OK folks,

The camera is found.

Here is the whole tent, at five weeks plus one day:

The Crop Three Mothers are doing very well:

I am going to take a few plants out, and see if I can take some
flash pictures that will show off the buds better.

...so, bud close-ups to follow.

I am pretty sure that I will hit the image limit, but there is one
way to be sure.

Take care all,

JD
