Colored Live Pistils

I see loads of posts about purple, blue, red, and white varieties ... now I haven't dug for them but I haven't seen much of anything about cannabis plants that grow with colored live pistils.

Over a decade ago I had received a so called NL #1 from an unknown breeder out of British Columbia and one of the 5 females developed beautiful bright pink pistils top to bottom. Wish I had a photo to share of it.

Is anyone able to direct me towards any varieties, past or present with this genetic trait? Let the discussion begin ...

Salutations,

I have seen this as well very beautiful plants covered in pink pistils. I believe one of the strains in BC that had this pheno was called Nagano Gold.

Never seen any real pics with blue pistils... There are no Blue Pistil's cannabis plants that I know of. If anyone has seen some or can provide a PIC i would like to see it..

PINK,PURPLE,RUST,ORANGE,Yellow or off White,RED,Brown... These are the only colors I have seen in 30 years.

I had a pheno of G13/HP x Butterscotch Hawaiian that had purple pistils. But only when grown outdoors. Clones from the same mother did not show the trait indoors.

I have had a few varieties that show colored pistils (or, stigma, if that's what it correctly is), mostly pinks, reds and oranges. Mostly where the sun hit them, buds underneath the canopy were usually white.

Best I can find says that the term 'pistil' means the whole of the female parts, whereas stigma is one of the female parts. Calyx is the envelope for flowers (buds?), and stamen is the male bits. Where seeds form would be ovaries.

So commonly used in this area, it could prove difficult to try to change the use of the terminology.

According to Clarke :respect:

pistil -the female floral structure that includes the stigmas and the ovule (prospective seed). In Cannabis, each pistil has two stigmas and one ovule; the ovule is encased in bracts from which two stigmas protrude to catch pollen.

Bract(s) - green tissue (modified leaves) encasing each perianth and seed. In Cannabis, stalked resin glands are the most concentrated on the female flower bracts.

Bract vs. calyx - O.K. I give up. I have been wrong all along and the resin encrusted leafy tissue surrounding the fruit shall from now on be termed as a "bract" and not as previously erroneously referred to as a ... Gulp(sic) ..."calyx".
However I have so thoroughly confused my readers that both bract and calyx will surely remain in common usage. Sorry abot that!
