So a little update. Approaching end of week 4. Gunna spray one more time probbaly on Friday or Saturday and then thats it since it will be start of week 5. Been plucking leafs religiously so that when its spray time its easier to know I got everything. I defoliated over a week ago. One week later plants have enough leaf on them to keep me busy for HOURS!! I have 6 hours of plucking leafs off in the last 2 days and I only have 7 out of 12 plants done!!! Fuck does it take some time!!!!

Under the recommendation of a fellow member here who also battled broad mites, he said feeding plants Aspirin at 325mg per gallon boosts there immune system. Broad Mites release a toxin into the plants everytime they bite. So last feed on Sunday all the flowering plants got a dose of Aspirin with there nutes as well as the remaining survivors of my veg plants. Had I known about the Aspirin trick in the beginning I may have been able to save all my veg plants but I ended up losing 9 out of 12 plants!!! All leafs turned black and crispy!! All within a 2-3 weeks!! These little fuckers can FUCK SHIT UP!!!! The 3 remaining veg plants got all damaged leafs plucked off and a dose of Aspirin as well on Sunday. Looking at them today new growth looks amazingly well.... I will treat the vegging plants to a dose of Forbid when I get it on Friday. Between the Avid they got intially a week ago, the Bug B Gone and now the Forbid that should have killed them all, I hope!!!

Some pics of my flowering girls before todays defoliation

On a brighter note, not everything has been dieing on me!!! 2 1/2 weeks ago I took clones. 12 from my 2 week old flowering girls and 12 from my vegging girls. Even though there has to be broad mites on these cuts. Looking at them today I'm pretty sure I have 100% success with my 24 clones. They all look like they've grown about 50% in size. Then while I was giving them there daily mist of water today I noticed what I thought was MOLD at first!!!! LOL.... Looking at it closer I'm pretty sure those are very healthy roots with the fuzziest hairs on them I've ever seen!!! Let me know what you guys think??? Think I will transplant them into 4" pots this weekend. During transplant I will dip each clone into a glass of Avid to kill whatever fuckers are on them!!! Then a week later I will dip them in some Forbid and they should be good to go...

So you are defoliating??? I'll be interested to see your results.

Reason I'm defoliating is to minimize the amount of surface area these little cock suckers can hide. That way when I go to spray I'm more certain I hit every leaf. I'm sure I'll lose some yield due to defoliating but I'm hoping I'm increasing my plants chances at surviving threw this plague!!!! Between this and that I'll be feeding them aspirin with every feeding I'm hoping my babies make it threw another 4-5 weeks till they are done. It will be interesting to see how they yield with the fact that I'm heavily defoliating them plus the stress they've had from these fucking mites?!?

After this run is done room will receive two propane heaters and will get heated to 120+ for 3 or so hours that way I can be certain I'm starting with a fresh clean room next round!!! All cuttings and plants in veg will receive rounds of avid and forbid dips. Once as a cutting and then again right before flowering. This way I can be certain my flower room does not get infected again!!!!!!!:tiphat:

well bud make sure to get in the real low, and middle of plant. clean up them real low bud sites and leaf all growing alone there going to amount to nothing other then shake Had a friend swear that i gave him mites few years back lol , i insured him it was not from me and proceeded to show him my mama's and some other clones .
Come to find out he bought some used grow room lights etc and infested his space that way.
Pretty much after each of my grows and it is good practice
i wash down everything with bleach , clorine spray walls floors and even wash complete totes inside and out to insure i don't pass on any unwanted pathogens or disease
you know for your first grow you been hit with some issues and pretty sure you have a new way to look at growing your only bettering your self on being more cautious next time around . Think of your room as a operating table , keep it clean ,and keep unwanted pests out by placing any new member / strain on a quarntine list making sure nothing enters your room and life will be good
most importantly is always get close and personal with your plants, takes nothing to take a few leafs every now on then and microscope them if plants tend to have minor issues

Well today I transplanted my clones into 4" pots. Gave them all a dip in Avid. Will get pics of them tomorrow.

Did manage to snag some pics of my flowering girls. This what they look like now that they are completely rapped!!!! Hopefully between deleafing and spraying I won't have any issues finishing off this run cause of the broad mites?!?!?

I'm sure bud growth will be stunted a bit from the heavy deleafing but I had no alternatives dealing with these little fuckers.....

Anyhow. On with the pics

I think they'll be fine. Here is my experience with it, but this was during veg. I would not pluck more leafs here on out, let em grow!

Looking good bud.

I'm definitely interested to see final results considering these have been really defoliated!!! I'm just hoping all this was worth it and that I've beat back the broad mites enough to finish flower without too much of a hiccup?!? Still a long way to go and those little fuckers only need 9-10 days to completely kill your plant!!! I'm giving plants aspirin on every feeding. Keeping fingers crossed!!!!!:)

Its amazing how things turn around i mean you plan to do one thing but, through the process, it changes like life.
You can only hope for the best, your dammed if you do defoilate and your dammed if you don't , and plants could die cause of them broad mites.
Its to bad you had to cause i was coaching you thru your first grow, and was sure you were going to pull some stupid numbers and i am sure most that view your rapped plants would probably agree 10 0z + per plant dry :) closer to the pound marker i would think . anyways for sure your going to lose weight now. Having something is better then nothing Right ???
This is where people get the illusion that wow look at all them bud sites, but forget to realize that there never really going to gain much weight cause at the end of the day there going to be small. LED your plants are going to yield you something but not at its full potential i am glad you got it all well documented , cause your next grow you can guage the difference , defoilated Vs non right ???

top 12 - 14 " of plant is the money maker the rest is just fill All i can say to you now is monitor your soil ph, and salt build ups in soil, as plants probably are not going to uptake as much nutrients like a plant full of leaf. this could cause you issues in the next few weeks so do them soil samples like we discused

Hey what's your feed back on the Gavitas? And how much does a 1000 watter cost. Thanks!

I definitely feel the gavitas are the highest quality light on the market. No doubt about that. Again my yields will be kinda fucked with my whole situation so going to be hard to judge what they are really capable of producing. As for cost I got my local hydro shop to match some online pricing and got a killer deal at $450 each!!!

You get me some pics of your tables yet???

You bet doc. Something is definitely better than nothing and just hoping I can finish this run off!!!!!!

Good call on keeping an eye out on my root zone. Think I'll do a soil check in about a week and see where things are at. Tomorrow is feed day and they are getting straight water with some aspirin, benefox and pro guard.

I'm sure it'll turn out alright LED. Bugs fuckin suck. I thought I had beaten Fungus gnats just recently (been ongoing for like 1.5mo+ now.. ugh!) as we had been down to zero in the tent+room. Chopped em Monday night and disposed of the soil - Found quite a few in the soil!! I think the issue is I switched back to straight tap water vs bubbled tap water, which would have killed the BTi. I am going to use RO+carbon filtered water for a while and see how it goes. And now that I'm not in flower, I'll be hitting the veg with some chemicals and etc. I'm looking into a carbon filter for chlorine removal that isn't as expensive as a full RO system.

Bout the bugs, FGs effed me around so here's what I did. Don't what really did it but, here it is after gonats, squito dunks, and azamax wouldn't do:
Drenched w Imid (just once, knock down!)
Then drenched w azamax few times
Then applied a few doses of pred nematodes
(i did drench once w pylon, but it's mostly a miticide, so?)

knockin on wood...

Thanks guys. Im really keeping my fingers crossed on this one!!! Say my plants are done in 8-9 weeks. When do the girls typically start packing on real weight?? Tomorrow night will be end of week 5 and I'm a LONG ways away from having anything that resembles a cola!!!!!

What brand of imid did you use medicalmj? Still waiting on those pics of your tables please:biggrin: really like to see what you came up with as I was originally planning on doing something like your describing. So I'm very interested to see how you made yours.
