How early do yall start using roots excel?I usually wait a couple of weeks after the seeds sprout. But Im thinking about starting them on roots excel, sea green, and protekt a lil earlier than usual.

Yeah you could def add it pretty much right when you first start your feeding which is like after the seedling stage 3-4 set of leaves

I got some sea green myself. It's kinda like drip clean but instead iof blocking the salts from being sucks up and built up in the soil. Sea green actually converts the excess salts into useable nutrients the plants could use. I used the sea green one feeding instead of drip clean and it def looked like it helped the plants soak up some good nutrients. Def perked up. I'm gonna probably use the sea green a week before flush and a few days into the flushing period so any excess stuff in the medium could be used up. I'm not 100% sure if that's what ill do or not. But that's an idea. If anyone got some info or tips on the sea green i would love to hear about it. Thanks guys and gals Rick in with H&G. I love this shit man. Never looking back. I'm all about H&G right now for sure

I am a big fan fan of H & G nutes. Have you guys ever tried running heavy 16 base with the h & g additives

Love the roots and shooting powder those products are amazing!

I also run cannazyme from canna and a couple other things.

Just some food for thought.

Ganja what's up man I'm not really to familiar with Heavy 16 nutrients in fact this is the first time I'm hearing about them. I had to google it and check it out :). The Prime looks interesting. Got a bunch of stuff in it. Like a one shot deal sort of thing in a way. Anyway obviously use 1 base nute. One or the other. So you used the shooting powder before you said right. Lemme ask you. What did you Honestly think of it. I sure rhe thing it works but did it mess with you buds at all. Like flavor? Harshness. Anything negative at all?

Just don't wanna burn the shut out my precious ladies I've been working hard at keeping everything steady and healthy. So late in flowering I don't wanna mess things. Cause there would n be much time left to fix anything major and end up suffering more then doing good that's wat I'm most worried about truthfuly anyway could relate to that I'm sure in different ways I'm sure

Coco A+B had plenty of calcium, but is a little short on mag. I have been adding about 1 gram/gallon of Epsom to my mix and the cal mag whores in my stable have Been happy as can be. No need for extra cal mag, no deficiencies. As fast as shooting powder, I have had pretty much the same results using MOAB in its place. When I did use the sp, I Had no ill effects. I think you just have to know your station and time it just right in relation to your strains finishing time and the h&g feed chart. I too use protekt in addition to the full line, it definitely helps strengthen the branches preventing breakage when your plants swell up, which is a problem I had before using it.

Because of this thread and the fact my hydro store is going to give me 50% off my first purchase, I'm going to switch from AN to H&G. I will still use Overdrive instead of the H&G equivalent though. I'm just not sure if I'm going to go with the Aqua Flakes or the Heavy 16.
I run DWC and Aero posts. Well I have two weeks till I have to make a decision.

I'm not familiar with the Heavy 16, but for DWC, I would think the Aqua Flakes would be the way to go..

They are going to pay you to take H&G out of there store?? Expensive products! They may say they are giving you 50% off of there price... but is there price 20% higher than MSRP?? THe profit margin on most H&g is 40-43%. Just food for thought, and my :2cents:

On another note, does anyone else notice that most nuggets grown with H&G lack in flavor??

I did a run with H&G's aqua flakes and from a performance perspective, I was pretty impressed with it. One thing I've noticed with any clean food in hydro is that it yields a 'clean' product that may not have the bold flavor you're looking for. An organic-ish additive in hydro can definitely help but I don't think the 'lack of flavor' is anything specific to H&G's product.

I was kinda wondering that myself. Regarding the flavor of the final product. So you guys think the flavor and or aroma. Is not as good ?!? I mean ill tell ya. My chicks are looking Super healthy an all that. But as far as smell goes. I barely smell anything at the moment. And they are roughly at like 5-1/2 weeks flowering. I know she could be a 10-11 weeker so I'm not super worried I'm sure shell bust out the smells and such soon. But I would think for a Sour OG kush. She would be super super stinky by now. Who knows maybe I'm wrong and my nose holes are fucked up. Cause everyone else seems to smell it and says its stinky. Prolly just Me

But as far as flavor. I sometimes feed with some Roots Organic Full Line basically 1 time Every other week sometimes every week. But recently this last few weeks I haven't. Been just straight H & G all the way. Maybe ill brew up some Budswel Guano Tea and toss that in there. It's supposed to really help with the flavor and scents so ill give er a Try and see what Happends. But anyone else have opinions on h&g flavors and aroma ? Thanks in advance

I never noticed any deficiencies in flavor or aroma. I've gotta double bag everything when I transport it (or keep it in tightly sealed masons). After a year off from H&G, I'm mixin my first batch tomorrow and off we go..

i find it really hard to tweak h&g and to solve neutrient issues, like for instance last crop i started getting yellowing leaves on day 21 of flower,so how do i boost the nitrogen?

Theres more than enough nitrogen in the base. So it sounds more like a lockout than not enough nitrogen. Spray your food through the leaves or use magic green to help.

Yup I was literally going to say the exact same thing DR. Def sounds more like a lockout to me. Because it def has more than enough N in it in fact I think my ladies could even stay too green sometimes. So I tweak the regimen or give em a little less of A I think is the one with the more nitrogen in it. Or if your only 21 days into 12/12 then you could def give em a spray of magic green if you have it. Are you sure it's a Nitrogen deficiency. Maybe it's something else? Although u don't need to add more Cal-mag. Maybe it's that. Maybe it's your water? I mean could be a number of things obviously. If you some pics to post. Maybe do that and maybe we could diagnose em for you. Little better. But like dr. Said sounds more like a lockout. Cause Nitrogen is literally one of last things that H&G lacks. Althiugh They do make a Nitrogen Boost product. I personally Don't have it. And I have 3 Full Kits with all additives. But don't know if is not available In the states or some shit. Nutrients and labels are different for dif countries. Legality issues I'm guessing. Anyway. If you need some help let us know n post pics if you can so we can see what's going on. My 2cents

i recently moved from entire bed gardens to pots in beds and this is when problems started, plants get to dry out but not overly and then are watered, usually a 2 day cycle, doing a feed then water then feed, etc this is happening with several different strains ,ill try t take some pictures

another note with the drip clean do u need t push waterings to run off,i just started aiming fr more run off on water days trying t clean up the medium, lol another shot in the dark

They sell a product called NITROGEN boost for a reason... there line is not complete. I work at a store were people constantly say this about H&G. A good alternative to H&G's N boost is Nature's NEctar "N" I believe it's 4-0-0 and more than half the price less. :2cents: SL
