Botanicare good bad any thoughts?

I have been using PBP plus assorted other Botanicare additives for almost all of my growing career. I think I had pretty good success with the PBP line, but I just switched to CNS17 to try out. I'm going to try just running Grow, Bloom and Ripe; no additives, not even CM+. We'll see how things go. I'm hoping this switch keeps my hydro system cleaner. Before it was just like salts and organics all over every surface and in all the lines.

I haven't seen any chunks in the CNS17, but I do see some sandy granular stuff in the bottom of my res. Not sure if that's from the CNS or the Silica Blast that I'm running out.

Blast is like that. When that bottle runs out pick up ProTekt Silica. Its way better.
The only part of the CNS line Ive noticed the problem with was Bloom.
I always really liked CNS for simplicity but I just switched to flakes and havent needed any PH or calmag yet.

You have to match up the right one with your growing medium. What are u growing in and I'll direct u to the proper chart.....I grow in promix and use the "hydrogarden" formulas...

I know what you're thinking and I can see how you would think that but when I went into the hydro store they had 2 different charts right next to each other. Each chart has a different section for each medium.

When I see the different charts then it forces me to decide which ones are BS and which isn't. I just end up feeling like they're all BS.

But to answer your question I've been running coco and hydro clay. I welcome some links to some more feeding charts.

I've been thinking about switching to the CNS 17. Does that change up every week like the PBP feeding chart? it seems ridiculous to me to think that you're supposed to change the feeding amount every week. I feel like they only want me to grow a 8 weekers to. isn't that why they make the chart 8 weeks long?

i just had a really nice run with PBP, liquid karma, and hydroplex on my OGs...they simply loved it. i pushed PPMs pretty hard too....about 10ml bloom, 5ml LK, and 5ml hydroplex. added in a dash of foxfarms chachings.....god 500+ grams off a 4x4 1kw, nice swollen colas, in 2 gal pots on drip to waste.

ONLY COMPLAINT - its a little dirty, the res always has sediment layers at the bottom..going with HG next because i want something clean..

Dumped it and never looked back in favor of the much larger yields and better flavor I was getting with Flora Nova. If I can get the yields I've been getting with Flora Nova I don't mind taking 1 to 1 1/2 hour washing out the table, pump, and res every 2 weeks.

Rather then trying to explain it here, just go to Botanicare's fert calculator web site. All their charts are there and it's pretty easy to understand.....

Id be careful with the custom chart because you can stack similar products and the chart doesnt know it. It will just give you the stock amount not taking anything else into the equation.

Thanks for the URL.

Thanks for the warning.

If your not smart enough to use the calculator, then check out the Predeveloped Charts......

Thanks for that URL to. I couldn't find any of these when I went to look for a while back.

I started this thread after i had terrible results with my first crop. I have since scraped the hydro set-up for soil(happy frog), still using Botanicare i added a few things. I use grow, ripe, calmag, liquid karma, aquashield, silica blast, hydroplex.I also use mollasas and sugar instead of sweet(feed those roots baby) i love soil now, befor i wanted the fanciest hydro equipment, now i am thourghly convinced that soil grows the tastiest , frostiest nugs, hydro might get a higher yeild, but not a better product IMO

I beg to differ packerfan. I love botanicare in hydro and I will put my flowers up against soil any day of the week.

I'm still new to this so i'm stickin to soil for now. I like the ease of it and i love the end results. If i were to switch it would be coco, i'm not ready for that yet

I'm still a newbie, but i have had some amazing grows.I would like to compare, so far i have'nt come across anything that is significantly better.I think strain plays a huge role also

Sweet adds a load of micro nutes in flowering, basically it bumps up the levels when the plants need it most. L.K. is also important for overall health........ they are both worth the money IMO.

I have used Botanicare for the past 4 years with great results, but I have also seen my friend use nothing but GH for the same time and get the exact same results. My last grow I used pro veg/bloom, karma, silica, sweet, and calmag with great results. I recently stopped using karam and still got great results. One thing I have really learned from others is enviorment is everything. I plan on trying Hydroponic Research Veg+Bloom next just for simplicty of only having to add one thing to the res and some protek silica. Tired of mixing so many different nutes and cleaning stained rez.
