Schutzhund--I want a bitch. A real bitch. Haven't decided for certain on GSD, Belgian Malinois, Czech or Dutch Shepherd. Kinda leaning towards the bigger animal. A dog is indeed absolutely perfect for my situation. Plus, I'm getting a huge bonus out of the deal, another dog!

here are some fun pictures of things going on while I've kept y'all in the dark. everything has been good here. preparations for our 2013 thread are being made, we're trying to come up with a name for it so if any of you guys come up with a funny one let us know.

I've moved back in with GCG for this year and we're expanding, with all the work we've been doing I think the total garden size will be 2-3 times as big as last year, and the plants too!

as you can see google has been spying on us, looks like these pictures were taken sometime in the second week of june.

we're about to start up an indoor of some Malawi from ace seeds, I will post a link to the thread or something if we do one.

Respect for keepin the faith and proper attitude to overcome adversity and get back in the saddle.......

Survival , security , and prosperity must remain entwined for the bottom line when growin dope ....yr in and yr out...

Just concerned for ya ll`s well being......Trained dawgs do well .......Nobody gets on my property via the gate or the fenceline of my cowpasture without ......

Motion detectors well above all animal range height that sends a signal directly to the base station emitting a high frequency/dawg whistle type alert ........

Sendin all 7 of my trained pits around the perimeter as they`ve been trained for yrs to protect and serve......but.....I never grew at the farm.....

Was just paranoid from livin in Hell with the threat of Life without parole hangin over my head for cultivation when I did it for waaaay too long before shutdown.......anyways....

Many ways ta skin a mule.....Wish ya`ll heavy and SAFE Harvey`s with no chance of losin it from now on.......Whatever it takes ta make yas sleep well at night......

Dogs are fine but if you really want to scare them, get one of these:

Seriously though- I enjoyed last season's show and am excited for this one. I will be a couple hundred miles away with my ten gallon smart pots pretending like I am you guys, like a child cooking in his EZ Bake Oven while mom does the real thing.

Stay frosty Amigos.

Ah, yes, the Google Maps/Earth updated map! Members of our patient advocacy group got an email about it when one of our members discovered the updated photos. I'll have to go back through the folder, but you can contact Google and ask them to remove the updated photo citing security concerns.

I was able to determine approximately when the shot was taken of my house because I can see what stage my gardens were in. I can see my squash mounds, the steppers I put in some raised beds, the solar array easily, damn near everything. Then I scrolled around and checked out the neighbors' properties.

Was using google earth to check out my place, and surrounding areas, and low and behold I find that you are a neighbor of mine boobs!
This is getting a bit freightening when anybody at all can use satalite to peer into our back yards! And now just about anybody can get or make drones as well! That scares me more than using google earth. Will rippers start using them as well?

The google earth image of my house is at least two seasons old. Wonder why your guys area is getting scanned more? I live in the bay area, so fairly close by.

Many of the techniques used by large plant growers make gardens easy to spot with Google Earth or Maps.

These include grading to bare dirt, using raised pots with contrasting colors, and planting in regular grids.

Growing clover or grass in your garden can help reduce the "pop" factor when potential evildoers are scanning Google to find you, as can intentional hedging or irregular spacing.

If you have never looked, you will probably be surprised how easy it is to spot smart-pot-style containers in newly graded gardens, it looks like a bunch of pips on a die.

Of course, covering the ground with vegetation helps build soil and reduce runoff, too, which are important issues in their own right.

SeaMaiden, if you use Google Earth instead of just the browser-based Maps, you can find the exact date of the imagery you are viewing. Also, I'd be interested to hear more about people getting imagery removed out of security concerns, if you've got anything else on that.

mr.shiva

I don't think you can have the image removed from google earth. The only images google will remove are googles own collected data ala "street view". The google earth data above my place came from the USDA, they got our place updated a couple summers back.

Not more, just more recently. In our area the images were not only very old, but you couldn't zoom in very much. Quite unlike what I'd been finding in the more citified areas. IIRC, the city areas are photographed more often, I know I've observed it looking at my folks' place in the LA area and comparing it to mine.

Let me dig up the email our director sent out last year with the information on removing your updated images from the map program.

Here we go...

Hey Folks,

I have recently been inundated with concerns from cultivators about Google maps. Apparently, the maps of ____________ have been updated recently, which has resulted in some very clear pictures of property that have raised privacy concerns.

I tracked down a link that describes what steps to take in order to have the image of your property removed from Google maps. You can find it here. I have not tried it, and I do not know if this method works. I would appreciate hearing back from you if you are successful removing your property image by trying this. In the meantime, I will continue to research the issue-

Nothing but love-

At first perusal it looks like mr. shiva is correct that this is only for the street view. However, reading these instructions, it seems to me that it might be worth a try. I'm not sure how much time rippers are spending poring over Google's maps to find places to rip, but then, I don't quite think like a ripper.

Keeping the area planted and green would be the best method, I think, to help disguise what you're growing. Greenhouses stand out, but fields of green blend in. I've been cover cropping anyway, so it makes a nice segue.
