Samsons Medical Grow Tent Of Doom

Hello everyone out in IC land!!! After a long wet and shitty summer, it is finally time to start up the Medical grow tent for winter time. I am a long time grower, but have outsourced my growing to a friend for the last few years due to space issues. This time around I will be flowering a few of my mother plants as well as a few experimental plants. Its been a few years since ive done the inside thing, so any advise or suggestions would be much appreciated!

The Room:
5x5 Secret Jardin Grow Tent, New for 2011 Model
1000w HPS Digital Ballast from Sun System
Sun Master 1000w HPS Bulb
Blockbuster 6" Sun Systems Hood 24x24, older model
6" Eco Supreme Inline Fan 400 CFM
6" Carbon Scrubber by Phresh Filter 6x16 400 CFM

Medium and Nutrients:
All Plants flowered in 10 Gallon Pots Filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil, Perilite and a few secret mix-ins. I feed every other watering at bottle strength the following;
-Fox Farm Big Bloom
-Fox Farm Tiger Bloom
-Liquid Karma
-Bud Candy
-Top Max
-Hygrozime
-Thinking about finishing with Humbolt Nutrients Ginormous, I need something to finish with as bud candy can only be used until week 6.

The DNA Like I said Above I am going to be throwing a few of my Mothers into flower this time around and a Few Experimental as well. The tent has six slots in it
1)-Spoetnik #1 Paradise Seeds (Phenotype worked out by me)
2)-The Church Greenhouse Seeds (Experimental)
3)-Pineapple C99 (Gifted by member !Peace!)
4)Queen X GWS (My own Potent Strain)
5) AOTA-(Samsons Cut)
6) White Rhino Greenhouse Seeds (phenotype worked out by member !Peace!)

They were placed into 12/12 one week ago today with the hopes of harvest right before and right around Christmas. Temps are 78 high and 62 low, hoping I can clear a pound off of the tent each harvest which I think is a reasonable goal considering my space. Yield might be a little of the high side this time because of the size of my mother plants in the tent this time around.

Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? I will throw up all my pictures tonight when I get home from work.

Myself as well, I have had two members try out my pheno, one with great results and one with not so great results. I think the bad run was because of lack of knowledge of how to properly use smart pots. My keeper pheno smells like grape marshmallows....Finishes in 50-55 days depending on medium. I hope I can get her to yield like I had hoped she would this time around.

I could not get the temps to stay below 90 with my 8'' 735cfm fan pulling through a carbon scrubber and yield master II hood!!! Right now I have it running at 750watts and I can keep it at 82 or 2-5 degrees above ambient room temperature. You are only using a 6'' fan and keeping excellent temps.

Hello fellow tent grower, I have my lights on at night and sleeping during the day. So I get extreme cold air intake on my air cooled hood as well as my intake because my tent is located in my garage, this definitely helps keep things cool. I also have my scrubber air cooling my hood, and an additional 4" fan blowing in super cool air from outside through a lower tent port. There is no way I would be able to run this set up during the summer time, so I will move it into the AC spare bedroom during the hot months.

How was the yield out of your 1k tent?

Sounds similar to me. I only run my tent at night here in Southern California and I was running an A/C the entire lights on period with 1000Watts but power bills were killing me. I am trying to find a way to vent outside air in on a timer because I just upgraded to co2 trying to battle my temps.

Right now I'm about 3-4 weeks til harvest. I have a perpetual grow, so about half the grow space will get harvested. My friend guestimated 6-8oz off of 4 plants. But I'm hoping for 4. My goal for my first grow was 1OZ per plant. I didn't really train my frist plants. I have 6 more that are almost 1 week in flower that i've trained a lot better. I am pretty sure i'll get 8OZ totall off those. I have pix in my sig.

you look like you got your space dialed in well. I tried to cram in 12 plants into my tent. I had to chop half because they stretched so much that I had to ventilation space


My friend regularily pulls 12-20 OZ per harvest under the 1000Watter in a 4x4 tent just like mine. Hers are in sealed rooms with A/C and co2.

I just realized you have a Pineapple C99. Awesome. C99 is my all-time favorite. I'm groing some Grapefruit from Female Seeds thats 75% C99. Supposedly there were originally two Cinderella 99 phonos: Pineapple and Grapefruit.

Mine went through hell and still are swelling nidely. All my shoots are completely covered in buds. Can't wait to see your Pineapple!

Hey there horse, glad to see you found my thread. My outdoor went horrible....so much rain and high humidity just decimated most of my best and favorite plants, but I had a few that were resistant and mave me some quality meds. I cant begin to tell you how many 5 gallon buckets of crap I had to throw away when harvest finally came...oh well, back to southern Oregon for next year though.

Quick question for everyone out there, I am getting really cold night time temps with the light on. I am planning on heating the garage that the tent is in within the next week, but in the mean time should I un-cool the hood to increase my temps? Sitting at like 62 day time 56 night time. When I originally air cooled the hood it decreased my temps by 10 degrees.

You could try non air cooled lights, that will definitely raise the temps. Just make sure you still have adequate air exchange.

And/Or get a cheap space heater and put it in the tent. Just be sure it has a thermostat and it will not touch water or plants.

I think we are having weird cold temps this week for some reason, plants don't seem to mind it at all so far. They are flowering along nicely 17 days today, I will do a full picture update tomorrow.

I will definetly do this tonight. Thanks for the complement, the room is really too crowded for my liking, but the moms got huge and needed to be flowered. I am preparing an all purple grow next time, well mostly purple, as there will be a few bull rider in there.

Looking excellent!!! Does your C99 finish in 8 weeks? My Grapefruit took 11 weeks! Mostly my fault.

What strength nutes are you running right now? Do you hand water different nutes to different strains? I have some Lemon Kush and Grape Ape on their 5th week that I'm having some trouble with losing the middle growth with. Looks like nute burn but only on mid-level plant growth.
