its my understanding that the key to passing on a high percentage of cbd genetics into seeds and subsequently the offspring is female pollen. something like 50-60%. look at the cbd crew choices. all fem but 1 i believe

'female pollen'?... unlike male pollen? (still gnawing on this one)

Yes reverse female pollen. Like what going to come out of the balls on my tonic. Im not going to drop names, but hopefully thesource of my info will pop in and reiterate. Thanks for the interest.

i grew out CBD Crew Nordle and harvested 7 feminized plants a few weeks ago...plants were lush, uniform, and extremely aromatic...a lot of the plants taste grape like some fruity pebbles or something and the others are a bit chive/onion...i have only samples a few small buds from each plant and its a pretty nice strain...waiting on my lab results but it was advertised as mostly 1:1 pheno's and its a much more mellow smoke, not extremely potent by any means but seems to aid minor pain relief...i'll post more info in a few weeks

doh! (as I look @ your pix in your prev post)

Interesting that fem'd seeds would carry higher CBD. Is there a diff thread that refers to this? otherwise, yeah, get yer bud to come in & talk about it!

be sure to save some of those 'tonic balls for my Harlequin girl!
(I'll have pm's after 50 posts)

Sounds like some good smoke! Let us know how the test results turn out. Thats awesome she has some nice flavor, seems like the complaint about a lot of the strains bred for CBDs is they taste like shit...

It's siiick alright, and I'm just about out. I might just have to blast the last oz of buds that I have. Putting a 40 incher into the bloom room tomorrow, won't be long before I have more.

What did you think of SDPharmlabs(dot)com , Clancy?

Quick turn around? Inexpensive?

What have you found the results to help you with the most?

I like that they're local down here in San Diego, but trying to find out more about them.

Let me know about your experience when you get a min.

Thanks.

Can't imagine why "a lot of you guys" are 'against the testing labs' (whatever that means). Can you explain?

Personally, I've used Cannachemistry(dot)com and SDPharmlabs(dot)com and both have provided invaluable information about flowers, extracts, concentrates and oils.

I like that they're local down here in San Diego,

I've had them run tests a number of times, and a local dispensing collective has done the same with our strains. Every time, prompt turnaround- never more than 1-2 days.
  • Local, on Cable Street, off Newport Blvd, Ocean Beach!
  • Excellent service - on time their machine failed- it only took them 2 days to get the part - they offered to comp me because of the delay.
  • Accurate results- a year ago - I was on a DUI jury, learned a LOT about gas chromo testing... exactly the same protocols are used by SDPharmlabs.
  • Inexpensive! I will not quote their rates, but they are the lowest I've found. They ALSO give a special rates (I'm an active member of a local MMJ activism group - they give discounts if you're an activist!)
  • Friendly! They are sponsoring our local Prop215 party this Friday! (HERE's a LINK link to info on the event ASA 215 party)
I've found that by testing my strains, I learn more about: what strains to grow, when to harvest them, how to reduce CBN levels, what to feed them.. I could go on.

Finally, because testing is so inexpensive, it's an invaluable tool. Hit them up!

Ive been blessed some beans of cannatonic . The person that gave them to me is pretty psyched about them because he said they are reg seeds, he said the breeders of cannatonic dont release regs anymore just fems. Is there any truth to this?

As a medical grower I am wondering how one goes about getting samples into these testing facilities? Seems we would need to hand deliver our samples. Any experience with this?

Re: MedicalGrower's question

The guys at PharmLabs had me drop off my samples. The lab itself was cooler than I thought it would be, the guys really know their stuff. They offered me a way to send it to them or if it was a larger order they would have come got it from me since I'm on the other side of SD. Overall I'm glad I checked it out though, it's not some behind-the-curtains magic act. They actually have the right equipment (gas chromatography) and right procedure and they even took me through the process.

Both guys I met (I heard there was a third behind the scenes guy who is the real genius) seemed super passionate and impressed me with their understanding of the plant, how it grows, and what a medical patient would be interested in with regards to the cannabinoid profile. I didn't realize how helpful testing might be in finding the true time to harvest as opposed to following the advice of whoever the genetics came from. And I really like that they test samples that are freshly harvested and wet although it takes them 48 hours for these results instead of their normal 24 hour turn around.

Not sure if they are pinched for funding because they didn't do pesticide or terpene analysis yet. They claimed due to demand. The labs up north have these options as a default. But they're right that SD scene is way different and behind the times compared to up north. Hope they will offer especially terpene results in future.
The lab was a little "Beachy" in feel since it was in OB. But i turned that into a good thing and just went to enjoy the boardwalk and check out the waves. Dog beach is right there too. So its almost an adventure to visit these guys.

Worth a trip. Pick an awesome beach-going day and hit them up
