Sure can, although if it was dried and cured properly, it will store well in a sealed glass jar for months. Some weed even tastes better (and some will say gets better) with a longer jar cure.

Taking it out and putting it back in the freezer numerous times will actually cause it to dry out, so I'd only freeze it if you don't plan on tapping into it constantly. Jarring works just fine IMO.

Hello all,

I am currently smoking on a kush strain that has been in the freezer since drying and curing the harvest in 2010.

It is by far the smoothest, easiest smoking and tastiest bud I have had in a long time.

So my thougts are that freezing buds is perfectly fine and should be encouraged.

In contrast, this years buds are in the same freezer and have yet to achive their peek.

This could be a slower curing process but given enough time the results have been steller...in my experience.

ive had some really cool answers but a few of you dont get where im coming from..

i know how tyo cure, ive been growing for a long time. but ive found not every strain gets a better taste with a long cure....

ive found this strain has a sweet spot and left any longer, i would loose the exact taste and high i want.

i agree with your post...

so do you find that after freezing it continues to ''freeze cure''?

some of the best way of long term storage, only downside reported is, some folks get the impression that the frozen stash, develops a more pronounced couchlock compared to the same strain unfrozen, but hey, these are all subjective feedbacks...

My experience has been the same.

Anything you do to mitigate:

1. Exposure to air
2. High/low humidity
3. High temp
4. Exposure to light

will prolong freshness.

This is key to why freezer curing works so well.

Check out the link in my signature for a thread with plenty of info. Take care,

:xmasnut:Long lost homeboy used to preach placing jars in the refridgerator with a 3 day dry. Pull out what you want for the week and always have fresh picked flowers.
I haven't tried it as my fridge is not worthy of my flowers.Maybe Santa will bring me a baby fridge for buds...:window:

Not to hijack this freezer thread, but someone mentioned vacuum sealing as an alternative to freezing, and I'm +1 on that.

Right now I'm smoking bud that I put in zip locks then into vacuum seal bags in the spring of 2007. Stored at room temperature, but in the dark. Wonderful smoke. I don't notice any reduction in potency, and the buds are as gorgeous and sweet smelling as they were 5 years ago. Actually, the taste and smell are sweeter and smoother than I remembered. The texture is perfect: Soft, pliable, crystalized buds, but dry so mold is no threat.

ive always assumed that a freezing weed is bad because making it that cold would make the crystals brittle and break off. the way u make hash is with ice and cold water, so wouldnt that make sense?

interesting .. always wondered if you could but thought it may mold once you take it out because of the moisture even in wrap it has to get moisture in it
