You drain all the water out the system thru the epi center. All the water is pulled thru every bucket and pushed back up to the epi. I use 2 55 gal drums piped together topping off with pure RO water. I add back deluted nutes straight to the epi

Thanks biggreen. You've definitely cleared allot up for me!!:tiphat:

So when your starting fresh you just keep filling the epi center until the whole system is full of water. Once full then you add nutes to desired strength. Say 0.8 EC. Your two 55 gallon drums have nutes in them as well just a lower EC than what is in your system?? Being that the drums are constitantly being topped up with water I guess you need to add nutes to them once a day??

When draining your system from the epi center do you just place a submersible pump in there and pump it out?

Thanks again for spending the time clearing things up for me!! Much appreciated!!

Yes and no

I always fill the system thru the epi and once full add nutes to desired strength only when I dont have plants in the system. My drums are always plain RO water and thats what I top off the system with. I only add nutes like every five days once you find the sweet spot. I only add diluted nutes into the epi really slowly when plants are in the system.
When draining the system you will get a plug that screws on a garden hose and the plug goes into the feed in the epi and then you drain where ever you want no extra pump needed

Hey bro first off awesome thread show and strains.

Im really interested in UC have been for some time.

My question is I have two rooms off set. And when one room is on the other that is off getts pretty cool Beacause the ac is still moving both rooms even though the lights are off. I Use 55gallon drums as well keep them full with bennies and food and they stay pretty cold from the off cycle. I was just wondering If I were able to get away with out a chiller. What temps would I want to shoot for to be safe.

Second are you using any beneficial bacteria at all in your system?

Im not using any benies this run straight sterile. I really wouldnt want to run with out a chiller you want it to be stable water temps. I keep mine at 68f all the time til the last two weeks then I slowly get it down to 60- to help them ripen up and bring out the colors
There are some successful people running temps in low 70s with bennies but I wouldnt want to risk a 8# yield on root rot

5.5#s outta the UC and about a 1/2p from the couple cocos on the edge. Had 4 plants that were crap along with a little rot screwed the yields but there was enough. Thru a shit ton in the can
A reconfigured room will be running soon waiting on cuts. Gonna be a 4x8 coco dtw vs UC
