I spray my room's floors and walls down every night with water and I run open bulbs. Never had a bulb bust on me. I turn my lights off to foliar feed, come back 45 minutes later and rinse with clean water, and turn my lights back on immediately after, never had anything burn. However, I'm not spraying neem, or anything oily or any pesticides for that matter. People need to get their plant pests and diseases in check before even going into flower.

I've heard from others that DM Reverse works, but IMO, nothing works better on a group of herming plants than some tweezers and fingernails.
This is a viable alternative to waiting long periods with the lights off like I do, I used to do it on a previous grow but over time i've found that letting the spray sit for a longer period seems more effective, especially on heavy infestations.

If someone thinks DM Reverse "works" more than likely they accidentally solved the problem that was causing their plants to herm, but didn't notice and credited the spray instead.

Grower who ran this warehouse before me swore by the reverse stuff, yet all his pot had seeds and bananas, why? His thermostat had been programmed incorrectly and his plants were stressing due to being cooked in the consistent high 90s and low 100s, I haven't sprayed once since taking over and reprogramming the thermostat, and banana/seed count has dropped to nothing.

Seeds are caused by bananas, bananas are caused by excess stress, unless you eliminate the source of the excess stress, no amount of high priced chemicals will keep the seeds away.

You show me someone spraying with the lights on and not causing burn, and i'll show you someone blatantly lying to sell bullshit products like "Dutch Master Reverse".

no you wont. i spray with the lights on all the time, and i dont sell anything. my plants are as healthy as it gets.

your information is incorrect. spraying with lights on is a non issue.

If people have "heavy infestations", then they don't know know what they're doing! Gotta be on that shit before it gets to that stage! I have never had a heavy infestation, even when I had a warehouse. Every problem has a solution, its just a matter of staying on top and identifying your problems.

I could see keeping a bottle of DM reverse around if you were testing phenos and worried about those lady-boy phenos. But if you are consitently using it, crop after crop, due to environmental issues, then you are an idiot and shouldn't be growing. Thats just stupidity. That like those stupid guys that use Eagle 20 every crop in early bloom, while there is no dehuey in sight, with 60 degrees, 75% RH. This is why there is so much crap weed around....

Your information is incorrect. I'm going to stick to the opinion of the makers of these products, who give clear instructions to not use them with the lights on, or in direct sunlight.

You can sit and say you know better than the makers of Azamax, Einstein Oil, etc, but i'm certainly not going to start spraying with the lights on becauseone person reported that they managed it, and the average user shouldn't, they should stick to recommended usage instructions from the makers of their chosen products, and the vast majority of those instructions tell us to spray with the lights off.

I'm not saying I know better than you, i'm saying the makers of these products know them better than you.

right. first you immediately jumped to the conclusion that my information comes from some product manufacturer who is trying to sell some shit. bzzt, wrong. now here you are jumping up the skirts of your chosen favorite product manufacturers.....who of course have no agenda whatsoever.....reading off some label to "prove" why im wrong. meanwhile i grow pounds month in and month out, pest free, burn free, no problems at all. i spray during the middle of the "day" period without a care in the world. it just works. it will always work, regardless of what some clueless newb claims based on what he read on some product label.

while youre sneaking around with a flash light in the dark under the right phase of the moon making sure jupiter is in the correct constellation, i just mix up a jug of whatever i need, in the proper concentration, and i walk in there and spray the shit. case closed. just keepin in real in this garden. thats what happens when you base your actions off of experience and knowledge, rather than fear and superstition.

lol @ all this, calling me a n00b when you think people spray by flashlight?

Adorable, have fun with that.

I'm gonna continue following the procedures laid down by the people who make the products I use, with no problems, like everyone i've instructed over the years and everyone I currently work with in the CO mmj industry.

Heya fellas, new to the state, thought I would subscribe to the Colorado growers forum. I've been growing for years and years, but, I've never grown at altitude before. Just bought a house and it's above 9000 feet. Does anyone on here have any experience with growing at this altitude? Is it any different at all? Or not really? Thanks in advance.

Also, it's gonna be a garage grow room, so, any ideas on how to keep her warm in the winter? I'm thinking some kind of space heater on a thermostat might work out.

Try INSULATION, A HUMIDIFIER, AND A BUNCH OF SPACE HEATERS. Does the garage have water? Is it heated water? Did you test the water when you bought the house? Are you on a well? R.O. filters use like 5 gal of water for every 1 gal it produces, so you may run your well dry making R.O. water. My well only holds 600 gal in the tube, so if I run it for a couple hours, I have to turn it off, the water slows to a trickle. I am lucky, my well water comes out at 40 ppm. My old place, it was 300 ppm, most of it calcium! The water wasn't really suitable for growing. Also, it will be 20 below some nights, be prepared...... and I hope the house came with a snow plow, you will need it!
Have fun, Colorado is a great place to live!

Stick to the opinion of the makers of "these" products and you'll be constantly chasing your tail.... Learn more than them, and you make your own decisions based on fact, not someone else's bullshit.

Manufacturers Labels are usually horribly incorrect, besides... you can get a better product for much less cost than any of the above mentioned products.

I'm not saying I know better than you, i'm saying the makers of these products know them better than you.

Bullshit. You know less than the manufacturer... but not all of us are in that boat, that is why you are still buying the stuff.

I'm not saying there aren't any benefits to foliar with lights off...

But YOUR INFORMATION is incorrect.

You can spray all fucking day long with a multitude of natural concoctions with lights blazing 100% with Zero Burn.

Nope no water to the garage, tested yes, just with my handheld meter I had with me,80 ppm. So that's not to bad. 20 below? No shit? Damn not looking forward to that, we have a couple 4 wheelers, one with a snow plow on the front, so I'll be good there I think. What do you mean it uses 5 gallons for everyone it produces. My understanding of RO, is that it just filters really well.

B

BigTex

My RO wastes 2 gallons for every pure gallon, and it's 0ppm. There's filters out there that are 40-50ppm with a 1 to 1 ratio.

As far as pests and spraying....I recycle my oganic soil, never storing it outside, and the only thing I bring in is seeds and dry soil amendments. Too risky getting outside clones. I haven't had anything but fungus knats and that was 2 years ago. Knocked em out with a mosquito dunk. Got them from FFOF. No pests here tho and I never spray. True I usually do have to run a few seeds before I find a keeper worth cloning, but I think it's a good trade off. Just my 2 cents...

I hope that's an attached garage. Gonna need a BIG ASS space heater if it isn't.

Woodstove... or wait til Summer.... all 3 months of it. LOL.

Offer more details and maybe folks can give ya some advice.

4-wheeler with a plow is enough? Gonna depend >where< you are at 9K.

hasn't even gotten cold yet. And snow....wow...we need snow bad.

Nope, not an attached garage. Holy shit are you serious? A plow on the wheeler might not be enough? Damn, didn't expect that. You know, you're right. I didn't give up enough details. So, here goes.

It's detached pole barn type garage that is in the process of being build (concrete poured anyway). It's 30x36, basically a three bay garage with only two garage doors. The third "bay" won't have a door, and will be the grow space. Dimensions will be 30x15x9. Plenty of room I think? No water out to it so gonna have to run a long hose or just take it out from the house. I also thinking of putting in one of those industrial type fans in the gable end of the roof, for all my exhaust needs, it's 6400cfm, and only 400 bucks. 6400cfm of vortex fans would break the bank. Thoughts? Also, it's at 9k west of Denver if that helps.

This isn't the exact fan, but you get the idea.

http://www.globalindustrial.com/g/h...y/heavy-duty-exhaust-fans-with-shutters-84098.

Any thoughts/help/advice/anything, lol. Will be greatly appreciated fellas. I plan on insulating really well, maybe even covering it in that spray on shit, and then more on top. I think the lights alone will take care of my heating needs in the daytime, yes/no? Also that fan can be dialed up or down. That's about all I can think of for now. Let me know if you guys need more info. Help me design this into the perfect mountain grow, I would so appreciate it. I've done alot of growing, just never in this weather/altitude. I've got "some" cash to spend on this, But, like most I'm sure, not a lot. I just want it to be perfect and almost run itself, you know? Anyway thanks ahead of time fellas. Shit I'm getting pumped now, lol.

Anything under 100ppm and I wouldn't bother with a filter. Plants will love most of what ever that 80 ppm is, so long as its not sodium, carbonate, or chloride. Usually in the mountains, you get free calmag!

Maybe in your grows the laws of physics function differently than in the rest of the world, but i'm not arrogant enough to will that into reality in my grow, so i'll continue to not burn my plants by spraying correctly, and you can keep not burning your plants because you say so.

Please, educate all of us with some proof of these wild claims that you had to put in bold as if it were fact instead of your opinion.

DO NOT SPRAY WITH THE LIGHTS ON, AND DO NOT TURN THE LIGHTS BACK ON FOR AT LEAST 3 HOURS AFTER THE APPLICATION OF ANY SPRAYING, WHETHER FOLIAR OR PESTICIDE. Not only will this burn your plants, it will decrease the effectiveness of your chosen pesticide.

Really? Anything? Are you kidding me?

Here is the funny part....

Where is the logic in this?

You: I will not spray in light, it burns plants.

Me: No, seriously I do it all the time, it has never caused an issue.

You: No! I know for sure because I do not do this and have not tried.

Me: WTF???!~!@!

some of SooperSmurph's concerns were realistic and made me slightly stress and wonder for a while (as it was a new concept to me), but 3 hours off production? But mainly that I and many many others have been doing this with no negative side effects, though I somewhat believe this may be due to general genetic resilience;
few crops ago one plant popped very few bananas near the very end, a local strain Querkle X AK47 called Black Betty (I've mistakenly stated as Querkle X Space Queen in another post, but was such a small slip i didnt bother mentioning the correction days later upon realizing). Everything else was blueberry and NL5, maybe this hasnt been being noticed by everyone because what they're spraying isnt really fazed by the minor burning.. while less hardy strains are punished and stressed...this is only my hypothesis. I just noticed that the betty would be wilting as I was finishing up the other sisters, didnt even think of it until now.

Not sure how I would devise an experiment, would never want to fuck with the cycle for that long...yikes

with a green bulb, vision with 0 light poisoning....its a thing and it certainty isn't fun if one has to crawl around a jungle squatting around lol.

You're going to want to run water (through a pipe) to that location. Anything else is going to be a pita and a hose will have to be rolled up every night to keep from freezing... most nights.

Dunno... I'm at 10,000 feet and I run my lights at night... always. Nighttime temps at 9-10k feet are always cool enough to keep a room cool with the right amount of airflow... humidity is low as well. (edit: Hrmmm... maybe not low humidity in all locations... just remembered that I'm on the 'dry' side of the mountain range here in fairplay... dunno about you?)

With a setup that size... you'll definitely want to look into using flip flops on two flower rooms to run lights 24/7. Your daytime flowering and your veg are going to be your biggest temp concerns... set your ventilation to handle those heat maximums and you'll be fine.

Are you going sealed, unsealed? Air-cooled lights or open?
Makes a big difference.

Anyone close by that can stop by and help out? I'm 2hrs away and I KNOW there are closer folks that know this stuff. :)

Not like it's illegal in Colorado anymore, eh? You're over 21.. yes? ROTFLMAO!

BTW... anyone in the Fairplay, Alma, Breckenridge, Como, Hartsel area... feel free to pm me if you're looking for assistance, eh? :)

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

Also, it's at 9k west of Denver if that helps.

Hey, we're neighbors! I'm in Un-Incorporated Jeffco, also above 9,500 ft........

I have 300 gallons of fresh water and 600 gallons of nute storage in my 75 x 30 outbuilding, and I feed that sucker with 150 ft of garden hose. 6 months out of the year, I coil that hose and put it somewhere warm after every use, and I use it like twice a week. The first thing you will want to do is get a big water tank, so you don't have to pulll the hose everytime you water. You will also need to heat the water, so plan on getting some res heaters.

I run two rooms, like HydroSoil was saying, on a flip..... or at least the control boxes are on a flip, the rooms are too far apart to use the same ballast.

Feel free to PM me if you have more questions......

The prob with a pipe is it needs to be 6 feet below grade or it will freeze, and the ground is solid rock. So, dynamite a trench.... very expensive.

We are just as dry (12% humidity) on the Front Range as you guys west of the Divide.

I think he might be limited by power, how many amps in a garage? Mine has 100.... I am maxed!

How are you liking living over there? Do you guys have a Grow Store over there? Are you driving to Frisco/Silverthorne to shop?
