It was a nice little run for someone who at the time was a newbie. Still am, I guess, since Ive only grown shrooms twice. But it shows even with a dirty ass kitchen, a little lysol can go a long way, lol...

What's the matter, Abita? The germ rate on your seeds is below expectations? There was a thread on icmag about a guy who kept seeds in his freezer, in air tight containers with some uncooked rice in there to absorb moisture, supposedly you can keep seeds for years and years that way....

just venting... the last three crosses Ive actually wanted to make beans with run into problems during germ, while everything else rides aladdins magic carpet right past the gates, I just dont get it. I had solid germ rates until the temp drop, then 3-5 strains magically failed in a row, now the method works again with the ones I dont really want to f2. Frustrating.
O well, snaggin some bubba s1s and some honey white bx2 x sssdh is a pick me up for those that did fail.

I end up doing both bird.I make a first run for f2's and save them back until I'm ready to do chucking,or for when I bump up my little 680watt setup (which is the next phase in my plan).
My oldest ones are 7years old already.I just popped some sgk beans that are 4yrs old.Outta 20 some seeds only 3 didn't pop.I do what bababooey mentioned
Needless to say I got one hell of a seed stash(mostly crosses) but I still have a few to get yet.My germ rates might go down over the years but most strains I've made plenty of f2's not to lose anything and to make sure the germ thing is not much of an issue.Its just took a lot of willpower to not grow seedless plants.But in the end it'll keep me in seeds for a life time if not longer and ill have plenty of seeds to do some serious selecting later.

i have 3 different moms of it. a "quick root" pheno, a "deisel pheno" and a "grapefruit pheno"
the pic of the hanging buds is the end result of that plant. the 2nd and 3rd pics are clones of it
all the rest are some random plants im running for the first time
strains include ChemDog, Trainwreck, GDP, PurpleBerry BXII

Man that's a hell of a line up farm.Do you prefer one pheno over the other's of the grape fruit diesel?I've been thinking about playing around some grapefruit down the road myself.And I can never get tired of good diesel crosses.Peace lemon
I just popped some trainwreck bx1 seeds myself.Along with the sgk,dsd, and some chem4 x f13(aka chem17).I've found really potent phenos over the years in all of them.Beside the tw I have yet to try.And the sgk I'm looking for a more grapey
