By backing mortgages they creating a housing bubble which ultimately popped as those seeking loans 'bid up' the housing prices.

We are seeing the same in tuition prices right now. Government backed.. they get bid up to unreasonable levels that can never be repaid. Gonna hurt worse then the home bubble when this one pops. Too many young people loaded to the brim with debt to get the same piece of paper everyone now has with gov. backed schooling. They graduate, cant find a job, and will never re-pay those debts.

If we see ACA put in place we'll likely see something similar in health care. Those seeking insurance rather then paying the penalty will ultimately bid up the price of insurance. Insurance companies will keep demanding more resulting in the government imposing higher mandates and/or larger tax/penalty. The ACA isnt ultimately going to make for affordable health care.. it will result in you handing over more and more each year. Want free health care.. head over to Europe and kick out 50% of your income to health care. Sounds like they've got a ton of freedom over there and I hear their economy is roaring. /sarcasm.

I saw today on MSNBC (Who I consider to be the true news). That Obama will consider (for politcal gain) to legalize cannabis for personal use.Sometimes on MSNBC they leak what the "Liberals" have planned. (From Huffpost)...No matter what your ideology is MSNBC spends most of it's time correcting "made up shit" that lets say it's competitor does. The idea of a royal commission to consider decriminalising illegal drugs - as suggested by a group of MPs - has been ruled out by the prime minister.

In response to the report by the home affairs select committee, David Cameron said the current policy was working in Britain.

The committee highlighted Portugal's approach, where people found with drugs are not always prosecuted.

It also asked ministers to monitor cannabis legalisation elsewhere.

"Drugs use is coming down, the emphasis on treatment is absolutely right, and we need to continue with that to make sure we can really make a difference, " Mr Cameron said.

"Also, we need to do more to keep drugs out of our prisons.

"These are the government's priorities and I think we should continue with that rather than have some very, very long-term royal commission."

A royal commission is a public inquiry created by the head of state into a defined subject and overseen by a commissioner who has quasi-judicial powers.

After watching the video on you tube, "Breaking the Taboo" I feel it is right around the corner. Global awareness is at an all time high, and I believe Obama is gonna do as he did with Gay Marriage rights, and come out in favor when public opinion is proper and the time is right. All the countries who signed on with the US(Nixon) back in the 70's are starting to become wise to the COMPLETE FAILURE of the war on drugs.

Former President Clinton is able to express his thoughts on the(his) failure of the so called war, his failed policies of the 90's, and that is huge. As the old school members of the House and Senate get voted out/retire/die/become irrelevant, more and more progressives will get voted in. Decriminalization is right around the corner. It might be a 10-15 year long journey still, but there is real hope.
