Hey Carlos

Thanx for stoppin by brother .
I'm kinda stoked to try the slabs myself . it will make things a little easier to clean up & keep that way too . being able to reuse them at least 3 times with some enzymes added will be nice too . no more 6 to 12 rootballs to get rid of each month . hell i still have about 18 of them stuck in the corner to get rid of yet .

Again ... thanx for lookin in carlos ..... i'll get some pics in the next couple days after they've been set up & running .

Not sure if the roots growing into the slabs will be enough support for the plants so i have my screen ready to put in if its needed .

this should be interesting !!! its my first time growing with the slabs . & 12 plants might be too much . was planning on 9 total but had the 12 so .... figured i'd use them .

thanx guys for looking in guys .... i'll keep this updated as they grow out for ya all to see & criticize .

Diggin them canna slabs dans.More i look at them i can see how they would make things easier for me in this cab.

Did you happen to cut out the bottom of those pots before putting them in or are you just gonna let the roots grow through the drain holes?

Thanx Dankster :tiphat:
The slabs sure beat the hell outa having hydrotron all over the freakin place .
I enlarged the holes to about twice their original size .the roots should grow through the original holes cuz theres a ton of them ... but i wanted to make sure they could .

ahhh while i'm here .... how about a look at my last magenta99 seedling to get flowered out . she was my worst crinkled plant of the bunch .
shes at 39 days today ... & looks like shes gonna be a biggun !!!
I gotta get a lights off pic so ya can see the purple in her !!

Its the exact same set up ... except with coco instead of rockwool & pots instead of RW blocks

I hate RW !!! finiky PIA stuff . I wish i could get coco blocks in 4" like the boss blocks ... & the cocotek blocks just don't hold the water well at all ... even they recomend a slow steady drip to use them . so i use pots till i find a 4" block that i can veg in .
Gaiusmarius uses the coco slabs with RW blocks on top .so it does work well ... i just don't like the RW :dunno:

Planting from one medium to another can be a pain in the but. RW can be a pain, I don't care for it either but I still have a bunch of starter cubes left that I don't know if I'll ever use.

Coco has been working fantastic results for me ... i don't see me getting away from it for quite awhile . the only other method i'd like to try eventually would be DWC or RDWC . i like the looks of the undercurrent system . dialed in that type system could produce HUGE !!! but theres no way as long as i'm on the second floor ... i'd ever do anything with that much water !!! that could lead to real big mess :yoinks:

I see your getting back into coco Gano ..... good luck with it brother ... I love the stuff :)

Yes, but I'm only doing some of them in coco. I was needing to set something up differently from what I've been doing as I have some breeding projects that I'm looking at doing. I needed something where plants where not all tangled together or in a space that they are touching each other and cant be moved apart. Was going to set up a drip system, but I'm feeling lazy and I'm just going to hand water them for now

I think I remember reading some of your posts where you were cloning in coco. I kind of think that I'd like to try that just to how they do in coco coir.

Cloning in coco is probably the easiest way i've had great success with yet besides the walmart ice cube cloner . both ways give me 95 to 100% everytime .

9oz clear cups with drainage holes filled with canna coco . take your cuts dip them in any rooting hormone ... stick the clone in about 3/4 of the way . saturate the cups with a light dose of nute water (just enough to feed the coco .. not the plants ... less that .2 EC ) pack the coco around the stem (thats the important part ... any air near the stem & it will wilt .) & keep it moist not saturated but not dry either . once you see roots 7 to 10 days ... start feeding the clone .

I changed the feed line in my tray to a smaller loop . i didn't like the way it was under the slabs in each corner . when the plants got bigger i could see them pinching off the feed line so i put it in the center of the tray . smaller loop better pressure & spray :)
& the roots are growing into the slabs with no problem , Thank god !!!
