what will happen to the price of marijuana in Colorado when it's (state) legal?

With many people's attitudes here we would still have ALCOHOL prohibition, lol!

You still can't distill alcohol legally in your home, you can only ferment, and then you can't legally sell any of your home made beer or wine. So I guess alcohol was never legalized, it also is only decriminalized?

Anyway, what I'm going to be voting on is whether or not A64 will keep people out of jail. For those who have never been busted, you just don't know... compared to the imprisonment of non violent drug offenders the details of A64 don't mean shit to me.

I have heard from the naysayers than A64 will increase busts for mj, but I'm not so sure that's based on reason rather than emotion.... and the DUI laws for mj may or may not pass (without or without A64), but one thing is for sure, the Xng/mL limit won't hold up in court because it has no relation to whether or not you are high at the time.

Anyone who is voting on any other criteria needs to self audit. Smoke some sativa and give it some thought. Think about peaceful pot smokers sitting in prison.. for years! Lives/families destroyed for what? It's got to stop, everywhere. We pass this law and others will follow. Any progress in this arena makes all other concerns trivial.

I heard the same shit from the nay Sayers in Cali when on the legalization of MJ. In the name of god what is people problem on progress? Is the bill perfect? No! Is it progress ? Yes... We as a nation are at the most defined point in history of making cannibus legal and once again the dealers want to keep in the black for profit..... Sick. Plain sick.....That is not compassion. This is all about money and keeping it illegal keeps profits high....

PASS THIS SHIT AND LET PEOPLE GROW!!!!!

I'm not sure what to think about this. It should drive prices of quality meds higher for awhile. It seems like a step in the right direction but I don't want companies like monsanto taking advantage of our legal climate ruining the cannabis genome and putting growers out of work.

Going out on a limb and going to say that super duper top shelf will still command 200 a zip and good will be 150-175 depending. Prices will drop a little but great weed will always be just that, great weed.

Well if growers are supposed to sell top notch for $100 a zip and people can bypass the dispensaries in Colorado and Washington that could be the new price point. If growers can't profit from $100 a zip indoors something's definitely wrong with their growing budget.

hahahaha $100 a oz is what the grower will get who is licensed $3-4 a g and owes 25% of that to taxes....he sells to

......the processor who will get $6-7 a gram and has to pay 25% taxes on that.....who sells to

...... the retailer who will get $10-12 a gram and owes 25% tax on that the reatiler has to charge the state tax in washington its 9%

so that $100 oz costs what to the consumer?? They are saying $40-50 1/8ths with tax

they say a grower cant be a retailer/own a store or part of 1

With my lights supplies ect its costs me a average of $2-3 a g to produce....$500 a Q is what I want to get if they have to tax it 25%

then you have the federal government...they dont allow any tax deductions ......so if you made $50,000 you owe on $50000 so between state and federal 50% is gone

Prices are already rock bottom, just take a look at denver craigslist, search for mmj or 420.

I cant even give the stuff away and my compost bin is overflowing.

Anyone who thinks they are going to come to colorado and make a living doing this better think twice...

I'd have to agree with you on that. Not even the Mex Cartels will be able to make a profit if the Feds leave us alone. More concerned about the Feds than the Cartels.

I do believe I can make it on 6 plants in a constant rotational setup. :watchplant::watchplant: Personally, that is.

Its just time to thin the leftover green rush herd. If you ain't growing A grade buds, then maybe your product belongs in a compost bin. Step up or step out!

I dont think people realize how well established the industry is here, I think colorado's reputation over the last 40 years or so has been downplayed, it's been a huge part of the economy here for a long time and the locals have it locked down quite nicely...

nice troll...

look at my gallery before you make uninformed decisions.

I never grow the same plant twice and sometimes when a harvested plant doesnt meet my requirements but is otherwise "ok" I either give it away or compost it. if this is confusing to you I understand.

Yep... I know a busload of growers around here that would love to have their crap "A" rated.

Anyone tried the crap you can get from HCH2 in Alma? LOL I'm sure they still have that High Times article about themselves on their counter... when you walk in. *gack*

There's gonna be cheap crap available commercially. Yep. People are gonna smoke the crap outta it like they swill coors and budwieser.

It will be a long road... but once the public in colorado is educated on what 'quality' actually is, the attitude toward cannabis by the average joe will be significantly more positive than it is now.

Yes, but...this could also be said about Utah, New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Washington, Oregon, Maine, etc. Where are you going with the point you are trying to make? I think most people realize that most pot doesn't necessarily come from cliché places like Northern California. Even cops know this.

Wasn't attacking you personally, I was just making a statement using phrases you already put out there. But from the sounds of it, you have a rather frail ego. Whats the point of you then bitchin about prices if this is your situation? You are now implying that the thread topic obviously doesn't apply to you.

Oh, and maybe if you grew the same plant twice, you could actually dial in a plant's needs correctly. Wait, let me guess, you are SO GOOD at what you do, that everything is dialed guaranteed on the first round?

The point is that hobby growers are not going to come here and become overnight millionaire's, also this thread is about colorado, not the other states you mentioned.
