My first go at LEDs!

nice...there's nothing better than those "Mason Jars" for curing or at least I think so anyway.
Still like the pictures of the Shika's myself and I can only imagine what that lovely aroma is going to be like after the curing is done...:)

great shots man, didn't know you posted the jar shots already so I am glad I checked back into this thread.

Can I assume a round two is in order soon? Anything you would do different, any opinions on the leds themselves compared to other light types? I am doing my first led flower grows atm so I am anxious to see how they compare to 400,600 and 1k grows as far as yields and density go.

congrats on the harvest

Yes, next week I'll order the cutlings for the next round. This time I'll use the LEDs in combination with HPS. I think it may be a nice compromise. Besides the heat of the HPS will be needed as the temperatures are falling considerably.

I enjoyed growing with LEDs since this light is so gentle on the plants... No burns or any heat related stress. The top of the plants remain a lovely green. You can tell this is the future for indoor growing.

As for the yield... just have a look to my next post :)

The yield

The yield

Hi everyone!

As yoyu can see I'm back from my holidays and I couldn't wait to weight my buds. This is the result in grams:

Shiskaberry #1 9.3
Shiskaberry #2 13.2
Shiskaberry #3 12.7
Shiskaberry #4 12.0
Shiskaberry #5 10.9
Shiskaberry #6 10.1
Cream Caramel #1 14.6
Cream Caramel #2 14.4
Cream Caramel #3 14.9
Cream Caramel #4 13.8

Shiskaberry average: 11.37
Cream Caramel average: 14.25

Total yield: 125.9

That's almost 0.9 grams per Watt. I was secretly hoping to beat the 1 gr/W but I'm pleased with the result though since with HPS Iv'e never reached this figure.

As you can see the Cream Caramels yielded more than the better looking Shiskaberries. That came as a surprise but there you go.

I've only tried the Shiskaberry so far. As soon as I had the first puff I knew it's really Shiskaberry. That taste is unique (at least to me). Tropical fruits, specially mango, I love it :)
I also enjoyed the high a lot but as I've been three weeks without any weed I don't think I'm very reliable in this regard.

Thank you all for your comments and support all along. Cheers!

Thanks vukman. I'm happy with the results. Hopefully I'll be able to beat them in the future though.

I just though I could as well post the last pics. Each variety in its own jar.

See you around! :smokeit:

Hi!

I finally tried the Cream Caramel yesterday. At this point it's more like "standard marihuana" if you know what I mean. It's good, don't get me wrong, only that I think it needs a longer curing time. From previous experience with this strain I'd say at least three months for its true flavor/aroma to come out.

Cheers!

Congrats Pman!!! That was a good pull considering the wattage your pushing... So how do you feel about the bud quality, density and bag appeal compared to your HPS grows?

It's been a while since I posted for the last time...

All this time my opinion on the Shiskaberry hasn't changed much, it's a killer! Very nice taste and very strong. I hear there's a different Shiska out there -in Spain- as a clone, which tastes like straberry. I'd like to try that.

I'm currently busy with another crop. 8 Shiskas and 6 Tijuanas. I have to start a new thread to show you guys how I'm doing.

Thanks!

It's hard for me to compare hps with led given the wattage difference here. With my leds the buds were not as dense, still quite resinous but not so compact though.

Cheers!

It's a shame these EVO panels seem to have just disappeared. They produce crazy results.

Yeah, I heard the owner was having some personal problems and that affected the business. I know there were a lot of delayed orders but I didn't know they dropped it altogether.
I'm sure there are other commercial units just as good anyway.

Cheers!
