looking good. i'll be following closely as I am curious to see how this goes in 3x3. Looks like you got temps under control. I am wanting to add 2 additional flower rooms but was hesitant because I think the area is only about 3-4x6 so I was considering going horizontal.

Are you anticipating any trouble managing the canopy/light distance in a 3x3 space?

Nice work bro. Love the overkill, utility, and cleanness.

Can't wait to see this thing producing fully dialed in with strains and all.

None at all.

Ive got the bigger box fans in the base of the platform on light dimmers to control bulb temps, I keep the a/c in my house at 72f which nets me a perfect 78 at the grow.

600's dont put off that much heat bro, long as your about 10 inches on each side you shouldnt have any issues, all about air movement.

I`ll try again with the condensed version while gf`s getting fixins done fer supper......JB......Unless yas plan on runnin a clone factory with major increased plant numbers growin budsicles like in coli setups perpetually/continuously , octagons are counterproductive with bigger plants that most definitely will grow into each other in the corners and choke each other out competing for light and environment that fucks with bottomline yields and return on investment........Ok.....

Supper`s done...Holler if I can help......

Love the setup!

Question: When using an oversized filter like that, wouldn't it be way more efficient to blow into it rather than suck through it? A fan with less power than its filter will just use a small section of the filter closest to the fan intake, potentially leaving part of the filter unused, while blowing into it would make it work like a manifold, and force air out through the entirety of the filter, right?

I'm not so good at a lot of the ventilation concepts, so I may be totally wrong, and/or you may have gotten such a good deal that you don't particularly care if you're not using the whole filter. I only bring it up I'm using an oversized filter too, and switched over to blowing from sucking because I'm a brokeass and wanted to make that filter last as long as possible.

I guess it boils down to air flow and ventilation theory.. Once the fan puts pressure on the filter, it will equalize, creating even pressure throughout the filter. It is never more beneficial to blow air into a filter, besides, my entire closet is under pressure, smell cant get out unless its scrubbed, and with the biggest baddast filter in the game, smell isnt even a possibility... I wanted a 100, but the deal I got was just too good to pass up.. Never hurts to go bigger..

Man, I think that growing trees period is going to fuck with my bottom line, Im seriously thinking about a shelving system soon that will let me throw in a shit load of cuts... I just dont have a way to veg them out at the moment.. and then there is the numbers issue.. I am hoping with 75w per sq ft that I can come close to 3, lofty with a bunch of mid range yielders, but its gonna take a couple of runs to get it dialed..

Im already in the design phase of something that may give even heath a run for his money, essentially similar to his enclosed 600's except ocotogon with a hinge system that opens up two halfs of a circle allowing FULL access to plants.. Prob some kind of drip emitter system with cuts in small containers in coco angled in towards the light..

I dont know, after the first run, Ill be able to play again.. Anywho Freds, please dip in and lemme know what improvements you see thusfar that could be made.. Im shooting for my highest gpw yet with what Ive got.... There is always room for improvement, and thats why I love your insight homie! l know that gal of yours is cooking up some goodins... So if ya ever wanna have me over for dinner, Im free tues-thurs.. lol

That is EXACTLY what I am building right now. Except mine will have 2 x 1000 watters. I am doing it with conduit, swivel couplings that latch and each rack can be removed to work on individually. Has 6" in front of rack trellis to run 48 plants extremely ScrOGged and mass defoliation at 20 days veg and throughout except during stretch, and training to have ugly ass vines twisted everywhere under net, but OH SO MUCH BUD growing out of it! :) looking to hit 1.25gpw on the Octagon, best I've done horizontally is just over 1 gpw.

It will be coco DTW with a drip system and built in rez and pump and drain rez in each rack. All on casters. 4 small fans on bottom blowing in circular pattern and 4 on top blowing opposite circular pattern and one fan blowing straight up on the bare bulbs so as to create a good vortex AROUND the plants but not on them so there is no sacrifice of funk and taste. Almost done with the complete design and buildout of 2 of them and will have pics very soon. My thread is in this forum too if interested. PEACE!

Jbonez - i'm not freds by any measure, but the man has been teaching me for ~15 years so i'll offer my thoughts also. What I would do if I was in your shoes, is grow out a mother plant (several if time is a factor, but monocrop is best for this senerio), take a shit load of micro cuts possibly similar to what I have done here:

Thats around 109 clones in 9 cell seedling trays (super cheap). You can root them under a single t8 shop light in 2x2' area. Pick the best of what you need, transplant to small pots and flower.

Lordofthenugz - can I get a link to your thread?

Here ya go. It's been a bit slow forming due to a couple of stalls, but the system should be complete this week when some pieces get here. Pics will be up soon on it. New setup, new place.

PEACE!

you guys think I should open up to a giant rectangle proportionate to the base? It will impact my light a bit, but will tho? Im at about 75w per sq ft, that would drop me to about 60, whatcha guys think??
