mexican brick weed???

I just got some brick weed, it's alright on the potent spectrum. Not bad for shwagg but it has a really fruity smell to it. It has a $hitload of seeds in it. I was thinking about just giving a shot and growing them out. But what strain are most of these brick weeds? I've seen some old pics of thai sticks and some brick weed look like those in texture.

Is growing these seeds worth my time or would i just get swhagg? I would guess that since these are commercial weeds that they yield well. But i just wanna turn em into dank regs.

You will hate yourself if you try and grow mexican brick weed indoors.

Because its all about genetics#1 and environment#2 nothing else really matters. Keep a perfect environment with shitty genetics and youre gonna get shit. Keep awesome genetics in a shitty environment and youre gonna get shit.
Ive heard of brick weed flowering forever and never finishing. Thats part of why its shit weed to begin with.

If you grow those out you'll probably end up with a large amount of males. The females will probably be less than desirable, probably even end up hermied out.

Why not just put down $23-30 for some seeds from a reputable breeder? If anything just buy two non-feminized seeds & one feminized seed, then make some seeds if you get a male.

Brickweed is shitty because of how it's grown and especially how it's handled rather than just because of it's genetics. I've grown several excellent plants from bagseed. Maybe not award winners every time but definitely not junk. And the few that I haven't liked got turned into hash or edibles.

There is always people complaining about the low quality of brickweed that they see, but here in New Mexico all the Mexican weed I get rivals most of the top shelf in Cali. If you are getting mexi bricks its most likely weed that was confiscated and has been sitting in the federales warehouses for over 10 years and is finally hitting the market, that happens all the time. We get mex endless sky, jack herer,og kush, rks everything we are growing here they are growing there but in mass quanities

There's nothing wrong with what you want to do. Nowadays, however, there's no telling what the genes are in that bag. Don't dedicate a sizable set up to them the first time. Run something else too if you got em or keep it a small grow otherwise. Start them on 12-12 as soon as they get some roots and be ready to rope them bitches.

Some of the best genetics I had back in the days were from a chunk of brick weed my bud saved for months in the refridgerator until he came north to see me. When we opened it up it had a nice tannish color and the smell was a kick in the gut. As he opened the plastic I got a wiff of that piney smell I used to get back in the day of the Colombian Golds and such.. We got several mothers out of that chunk, several real keepers. Most took from 16+ weeks to finish, others like someone said never finished and just turned to hay. There were two that were about ten weeks we called one beefy cause of the old school "dirt brown Colombian" taste. It was tight golf ball sized buds that cured a beautiful dark brown in the jar. The other we called Grape as that's what it tasted like. It was a long stretching whispy sativa that took 12 weeks plus but was sweet to the taste and good to the head. I don't know if I would bother with average brick weed, but if I found a chunk that looked, tasted, and smoked like that old chunk I would try to take the time to play with them on the side. Be ready for a tall long flower and lot's of varaition but still, you're probably going to end up with something better than the brick it came from:)

+1

It's not the '70's anymore. The cartels ain't stupid. Faster finishing crops = more harvests = more $$. They're not growing Mexican landrace sativas anymore.

If I found seeds in any bud that tasted and smoked good I'd be high fiving myself. Free seeds FTW!

i grew up on the mexican border and i knew a lot of families in the game like that and i know for a fact that they statrted ordering beans onling from amsterdam, prolly a lot of skunks and high yielding fast stuff. like dude said, theyre not growing landrace mexican sativas anymore which kinda sucks cuz landrace mexican will be extinct soon.. so they have real genetics its just grown in mass pretty poorly and bricked up to make it past the border and usually old by the time it gets to you.

when winter came around we would get fresh bomb ass shit, fluffy buds with no seeds, green with red hairs.. good shit.

ive seen a lot of good stuff come from brick seeds. no telling what youll get but its worth it for fun to check em out if u have space. fuck it.

Does the size of the seeds play a big part in the difference ?
I've noticed most brick had big brown tiger stripped seeds but the bricks with none to a very few have really tiny seeds sometimes jus all black no stripes seeds ..I've noticed this on more than one occasion

Mexican brickseed runs the gamut everywhere from total shit to nice keeper....it's a total crap shoot. If the high was good when you smoked it then you will probably get good results out of the seeds. Most of this bud today from what I can tell is hybrids between the old Mexican strains and purple indicas. Some plants will be leafy garbage but you can definitely find some really nice keepers in bagseed, even and especially today.
