ive done two and they both came out real haze dominant.
first was super lemon haze x larry og.. grew a few phenos. huge chunky buds that reaked of lemons but not really much og fuel there. maybe a tiny bit in one pheno.. didnt look as good as either parents but maybe smelled better then the slh but not as good as the og stink.. i got rid of em but gave a few clones out so maybe theres a few still around? got a few more seeds left, maybe i can find an og leaner one day.
another was rd's facewreck haze. super haze dominant as most of his crosses ive grown are like the midas seemed straight hazey.. not much AW as far as i can tell..
also i got a bunch of insane og cuts this past week, i can definitely say im done hunting for a long time, at least until i flower a bunch of shit out and get rid of whats not the best.
i got a king louie from the people that released the cut from one of the collectives in sfv, forgot which one but apparently its the real deal original and they gave me nugs that blew my top off. easily some of the best og buds ive ever seen.. makes me think most king louie ive seen is not the real deal or just not grown right. i got another king louie cut i just mothered out and took cuts from so ill flower both cuts out and see if the one that floats around is the real deal or not cuz i know this one i just got def is.
also got the triangle kush finally!!! i already knew some info.. the guy i got it from is not an internet dude so dont think he follows all the drama. he just told me its a cut thats over 20 years old that is everything you imagine the best og to be and arguably the original og kush before it was called og kush. 20 years old.. lets see how it clones, i broke one and tried to reclone it real quick lol.
those two are the come ups.. also got hollywood og, snoop dogg og (not abusive) space jam og, and another one just labeled og kush described as the original og kush that floated around the valley before the name game. maybe the true or sfv? ill compare it and see. also got a hollywood bubba? the people it came from only fuck with the best kush's so im hype about it and hoping it'll come through for me in the bubba dept cuz i got rid of the pre98.
also got a master, a platinum bubba and a platinum kush. all popular valley cuts. hopefully ill get some raw dog straight kush outta some of these. sometimes the og doesnt do it and i want that real deal kush!

Don't hate me, I don't understand, but how many OG are there? There are dozens if not hundreds mentioned in this thread. Are all of these OG S1s from a handful of original OG? Surely these aren't all uniquely breed? Seems like name dropping to the x10 degree. Someone gets an "" OG cut then it's passed as: "You ever try this "BALLS OG", it's ballsy"!
There is no definitive "best" OG determined in any thread or from the majority of individuals mouths. I see differences in some pictures but to me, a lot look like the same plant(s) being grown like shit by some to amazing by others and you get hundreds of different looks. I want to know the story behind all of these OG. I can't help but feel a lot of what I've read is legend and not fact. There are some nice pictures in this thread.

theres hundreds maybe thousands lol. mostly s1s. some might be hybrids but most of these seem pure og.. but im sure its really only like 15-20 original s1s or whatever renamed a hundred times. but every time some hermie pollen flies around it could be some new s1s and some new og names lol
the thing is someone will get a tahoe, rename it steves og, pass the cut around and someone else will name bobs og and so on. honestly i used to try to fight it but i cant anymore, i just love og's so no matter how stupid the name game is i still follow it and wanna check em out lol
and yeah theyre all very similar but there definitely is differences in them.. you will see differences in larry, tahoe, skywalker, legends, hells angels but they'll all still obviously be the same strain, og. sometimes less lemoney more earhy fuel sometimes opposite. some grow a little different, more stretchy, more bushy, etc..
finding really amazing ones is the fun part.

Now this is why there are cannabis DNA projects starting. Most everyone I know has their money on Tk as being the mom. The timeline and background story fit. Point of origin fits. Let's see that DNA.

cali med scene fucked it up with renames. grower gets a og cut, starts selling it to a club or whatever and renames it to either hide the fact that hes doing something with the cut he wasnt supposed to be or because they just wanna act like they have some new shit. there arent as many s1s as it appears. most are renamed.
it aint just growers though. i know a couple dispensary owners and they have at one time or another copped to doing some shady shit to move product.
they will have jars of sfv for sale and people comin in asking for some crazy named og they saw somewhere else or heard about online and when they owner says nah never heard of it they leave.
so they relabel the sfv jar to whatever is trendy and the jar sells like hot cakes. same sfv og but diff name and people are gobbling it up. true story and happens much more than people realize. which really just goes to show a killer og is all that matters, names aint shit.
and as for definitive best yes and no. theres a handful that are definitely better than the rest. find one of them and dial it in.

May not be the same cut then....or perhaps the Irene some how found it's way to the dirty dirty - but either way - I hear it pop up from time to time in certain circles I know from that area.
Apologies if I misspoke there - but I'll certainly stand by the statement there is an "Irene" cut in the ATL area that is thought of very highly...

irene is no doubt an atl staple commanding very high prices, however i believe that its a very very very tight circle that is hush hush and somehow someone spending big money got ahold of it and the name and mystique spread like wildfire...being that irene is very rare there is not that much available. I first heard and smoked it in 2006 and then again in 2007, this was when their was a huge influx of purple everywhere shitty commercial green colored "purp" and fire urkels and pk's... I kept searchin to no avail and thought it to be gone til 2011 when a homie of a homie got signed to a very popular label... at this time irene was bout 800 a zip... unfortunately shit is hush round those parts and whoever has irene is not giving it up... i used to visit cali almost monthly 06-07 so this was before the og craze and the irene i know is most like the no name og i used to snag out there, if i had to pinpoint a known og to compare it to never actually having verified og cuts or seen irene being grown the taste is a dead ringer for sfv even tho like i say i have never 100 percent been sure that the og i had was sfv but the way the greyskull,sub rob,smoke trees, etc describe an explain the valley or sfv i would say they are very close although irene doesnt have the lemon smell just crazy cleaner turpentine gas type smell very original. it does have the sour exhale though

I'll let the secrete out Irene is sfv.... Smoked plenty of both for many yrs..... I don't know why ppl would rather get the new popular name when the original is the best... If I see a jar of sfv I'd grab that before me other name no matter how popular or hype.... Sfv ftw

I should be geting the fire cut soon. How does that one rate compared to the other popular cuts? Iv had tahoe , agressive and a few just called OG. I really liked raskals wifi also.

Personally I always liked the Tahoe and Fire cuts the best. The Fire is a more of a daytime kind of effect, where as the Tahoe is a bit more knock you onto a couch kind of effect. I find the Fire is straight diesel funk, a great cut.
