@relentless, post some pics, I'm especially interested in the Urkle - GDP - Grape Ape differences you see in their leaf growth pattern/flowering/budding.

I've grown all three (GA, Urkle, & GDP). From experience, and what I've been told, I would say that they are all very closely related. I also know them all to be clone only strains. GA is the easiest to grow with the best over all yield. Urkle is the best smoke of the 3 but yields the least. And GDP is the biggest and shaggiest (leafy)..

Grape Ape Day 53

Grape Ape Day 53

Well, here they are done with day 53. They're being flushed and will come down within this week I think....will see how they do. Regardless, I'm very happy with them. Quick dried a small popcorn nug off the bottom in the oven I'm thoroughly impressed. The wait was well worth it. They have filled in nicely and are starting to foxtail a bit. No doubt they are all a bit sexually frustrated.

These shots are from all over the place. Some bottom nugs some colas. Some were taken with the lights on, the others with the lights off. All with flash. :thank you:

Back in '95 a friend aquired 4 cuts from a breeder in Fla. Supposedly two G-13 and two Hawaiian. He kept one of each and he gave me one of each. Wasn't impressed with the Hawaiian but the G-13 seemed to be the real deal. Abouut two weeks into flowering I went to check up on his room. His G-13 was totally purple in the calyxes. I took cuttings and began to reveg them. They were slow to root and produced miserably on a f/d table. Ocassionaly one would be slightly bigger and take over a table, a huge yielder. I switched to drip DWC in 3 gal. plastic paint buckets under 4000kw with CO2 and 1200 ppm nutes. Thirty plants per room, We had as many as 7 of these rooms going at any one time until mid '03 when the big bad wolf came knocking. Four plus rooms per month. AVERAGE yield was eight lbs. per room with a max of nine and a half. After dialing her in this is what I found: 4x6 flood table for cuttings and veg, never kept mothers, one leaf cuttings because it took too much energy to push a growing tip, under a 1000hid 900ppm of formula one (before the change in recipe). Top and leave only 6-8 strongest branches. One week veg in flower room then 49 days bloom. This plant had totally purple calaxes and totally green leaves, color coded I would tell the trimmers. Very few hairs when finished but all were orange. The smell didn't exist during the grow and trim (we used to have Domino's deliver during trim). The taste was pure grape with a sandalwood undertone and during the cooler months a slight crayon whiff. Around '99 I seeded a whole room of her with male S2's, NL5XHP (seedbank pre 1990), and a sweet Orange Hill sativa personally collected in Jamaica. I kept over a half lb. of seeds that fell off during drying. Over five lb of seed went to Cal., Ill., NYC, and Or. Soon after I started to hear about GA, GDP, theBlack, and Blackberry. We called the original u-turn weed because you would drive on auto pilot and get lost. First hit you would be high on the exhale, lasted for hours. Best tasting weed in 30+ years of smoking. I didn't give it to Lepps but someone may have given him a clone of her daughter. Sorry about the long post but I believe this answers alot of questions about these purples. I got more info for future posts about her. I was told she was a cross of purpleNL and G-13 female reversed. BM

Beans.... I'd say deffinitly another week or two.

I personally prefer GDP. Urkle is a little slow and I've never tried grape ape.
