so......................

i just bought a new liter of Sm-90, and it is without doubt NOT the same product. the old bottle I had would be murky when shaken, and this new product is clear as can be, and the smell is much more pungent, almost foul. the old formula was pleasant to my nose.

rbdf
Fuckin Hydro whores........SM-90 originally is fruity/citrusy and you`d swear yas could drink the shit it smelled so good........

Thanks for the heads up RBDF......that explains all the problems with residual slime my growbro`s have been having of late......but.....

Is the slime affecting the performance of the SM-90 ?......I mean.....

From the get over 20 yrs ago , I started usin that shit per Krusty`s instructions to prevent root rot if rez and bottom container temps rose above 70 degrees , and the shit worked religiously for yrs and yrs cuz in deep summer even with my big ass drop in probe aqualogic chillers ,juice temps climbed above 70 for several weeks till outdoor temps leveled off after late august early sept........ but then.....

Once Cali went wild wild west medville , Nutrilife introduced the product as organic root rot preventive and rootzone insect preventive as a systemic by not allowing eggs or larvae to hatch from the coriander oil suspension encapsulating said eggs and larvae and smothering em......

Well.... Cali wasn`t goin for dual purpose bullshit and banned it untill Nutrilife came back and offered it as a surfactant and wetting agent.......and the shit sat on the shelves and nobody bought it except for the folks in the know from the invite only medsites......

I bought the shit in 6 gal jugs and used it regularly with dialed results and would again today till I found out the shit didn`t work anymore , so don`t discount it FHC , just maybe decrease doseages and or get in touch with the manufacturers and find out what the fuck they`ve done to the shit.....anyways....

Good luck regardless....Freds....... :ying:......

You could try Dutch Master Zone.... i tried it and it didnt seem to work once i had "The Slime" but many RDWC growers swear by the stuff including DesertSquirrel (Heavy weight RDWC grower mainly on THCF)

Bro....Can`t help yas.......Never used SS#4 and what it takes to dissolve residual rootmass , nor how long it`d take compared to my coco mix.....

All about trial and error guys on the road to the gpw`s....Gotta dance with the one yas brung so yas don`t jump back and forth from different setups and never yield consistently.........I mean.....

If yas hit .5 gpw consistently and it pays the bills , be proud.........but....

Gettin up there above 1 gpw takes attention to detail , watts per sq ft. , and dialed environment that`s THE most important factor in the equation......... and for the proof in the pudding..........

Monocrop........even if it means runnin buncha smaller lower wattage rooms to yield consistent results as long as watts per sq ft are maintained.....after all.......

It is all about return on investment right ?......All personal stash growers disregard the last remark.........

Peace......DHF.....:ying:......

SM-90 smelled great when I was using it in water culture.

Sucks to here of all having slime issues... has anyone contacted the manufacturer to ensure a bad batch wasnt put out?

I used to run SM-90 to aid in keeping things squeaky clean and smooth as silk. Used to combine it with Hygrozyme and it wouldn't only prevent pythium and root rot, but could actually salvage things and turn a mushy root mess into a thriving porcupine.

Every bottle of SM-90 I've ever ran definitely did not smell foul. It did have an oddly pleasant odor to it.

Anyone with foul smelling SM-90 find a batch code or anything on the bottle? I know of a few local hydro shops that move it rather slowly.. so perhaps some of the good stuff is still available to those who seek it. This stuff has a seal under the cap doesnt it?....otherwise it'd be pretty easy to just crack it open and take a whiff in the shop.

the "old" product, when poured out into a clear cup, would separate into two different viscous liquids, which is why I always shook it up before use. the "new" formulation, when poured out into a clear glass seems to be thinner, and no two discerning substances. weird, to say the least.

I am still using it in my coco and Pro-mix Blumat runs; it keeps my root zone happy and roots are larger and whiter than ever! As far as the Slime issue, it stays in filter of the pump for me, so I'm not worried.

peace!!

Swung into my bros shop today and checked out some of his SM-90. Dunno if this assists any of you dealing with SM-90 troubles.

I'm not sure how to differentiate between the new and old potential bottles, but the stuff he had still smelled like I remember it. A pleasant cleaning product smell.

For what its worth these are labeled Root System/Foliar Spray" - A multi purpose wetting agent".

No batch codes or anything on the bottle.

Active Ingredients:
1% coriander oil
94% sulphonated canola oil solution
5% Triethanolamine

Dosage on this bottle 2-3mL per Gal
or
Foliar 1 part to 5 parts water

No seals on his bottles, so take a whiff before you buy a jug.

good to see you Cat, hope you get it right, one of my friends said he met you recently and really had a great time..

OHH yea Josey, we had a great time! And he is an awesome dude! Only problem is the Chargers stunk up the joint. But it was a great time nonetheless.

On the grow side of things, Im excited to get back to whats worked for me in the past. (botanicare) With that recipe the plants looked sooo good that they almost seem fake.

Noticed this when I bought a gal. jug recently. The quart I had before would separate and always looked kinda cloudy. The new stuff is crystal clear with a slightly different smell. Seems to work just as good as always though so :dunno:

FHC a while back you mentioned a cycle timer that had day and night settings, the new sentinel DRT-1a has these now, it’s smaller and only has one plug, didn’t know they had changed the DRT until I opened the box. FYI

Just checkin in.

Started the process of turning my veg room into a flower room. Its going to be a 4x8 aeroponic SOG with 2 600's barebulb horizontal in xxxl hoods (no glass. With the option of either 120 clones (no veg) tightly packed, or 80 clones with a little veg time. (probably try both numbers over time to see whats best).

In the vert room... I have a full house of Bobbles USD vegging now at about 6 inches and building some nice roots. Another week or so and i will be filling the system and flipping the switch.

Hope all yall are doing well...and i plan on updating more once i get flowering.

GMax

glad to see ya back on track bro...i am excited to see the round

whats your horizontal aero system gonna look like ????
also how long your got to veg for in your vert room ????

as always i be watching ..holla if you need anything

Thanks Gmax...

The flat aero grow is gonna be cool. I had a bunch of 40 gallon panda reservoirs from a previous grow.

So its gonna be 4- 40 gallon pandas lined up. (they measure 2x4 ft each. The 2 inch holes are drilled right into the lid. The spraybar manifold sits inside, and the reservoir will be tilted about an inch to dran into a gutter system back to a res underneath. I will take pics later when i start to put it together.

Im not actually vegging in the vert room....the USD veggers are 6 inches now..but as soon as they reach 12 inches they go in. So maybe a week or 10 days...we'll see.
