im not sure what the deal is with the diesel strains now...i live on east coast and found a few seeds in some diesel i bought here about four years ago...grew it out, and it smelled like kerosene and had a distinct main cola/calyx structuring. I think whatever it was it was probably the closest thing to the real diesel that anyone can get, and looks NOTHING like in the pics people are posting here. I should have kept that plant and made it a mother, I'd be absolutely rich right now. The original diesel, the one that i had, had very sativa like buds that were not fat or chunky but light and whispy like and had an incredible high like some type of haze. Here's a pic

I actually think the real deal ECSD is a lot more rare then people would think. I bet a lot of what people think is the real thing is various pheno's selected from the IBL.


What sucks is now that Chaco is gone so are his pics, that guy was a master sour grower and his Sours were a shining example of what they can be.

your pictures are great guys but when every other picture is anything but ECSD its kind of annoying as I consider this thread the Sour D archives.

That's great the vaportek works for ya', I was being a little theatrical in my elaboration on it's bad qualities.....I'm just super odor sensitive, my wife cleans the floor with floor scrubber and I sleep in the shop!!!It may also be a memory/smell mania but I just can't make it past the odor, I do know several people that use it and don't mind.I don't wear deodorant or cologne, I'm just a raw piece of seaweed washing up the beach.Everyday I STINK of pot, I love it, it's my dream become reality.Hell I really wish I didn't have to wipe out the stench, you should see me after a day in the shop, mixing potions for 5 kinds of mediums, dropping frozen liter bottles in all my rez', keeping them at a constant supply, like 40 at least in a freezer.I love chilling my water in the summer, on the flush I like to bring it way down with frozen gallons....Love to see some pics if anybody's doing any diesel, any kind is great, show me some magic!!

It never ceases to amaze me how extremely different bud can look grown in different mediums. I have been experimenting with different organic mixes as well as some synthetic ferts for past 2 years and even within just the organic populations there were several times I could not tell that the mother I have been growing for years was the same plant...especially dried. It also clued me into the fact that a lot of people make judgments off seeds they grow out and claim they are complete shit when in all actuality the only shit was their soil mix or nute regiment...This last grow I had 3 different mother plants that I would never consider keeping if I had just sown them from seed and the experimental soil I was using was my only mix I was knowledgeable of. it was wholly the mixes fault...Lack of frost, taste, smell, yield, everything. Fast forward to my current grow and they are back growing beautiful just like always with a better mix...

Experimenting with mediums and known moms can be a REAL eye opener to growers and breeders.

I was pointing out to MrMagic that Chaco himself said to post pics of any diesel.
I got negged for my terrible pics of my first run with any diesel(Origianl Sour D). So I figured Id point it out since MrMagic made that post right below my pics.

I agree with you on cuts looking different from grow to grow, seen it happen in my own room flowering same cuts from time to time.

Chaco told me that If I could grow the ECSD well then I have reached the pinnacle of growing because it is just so hard to do well.

I'm not sure. Not sure I want another run with her to be honest. I don't appreciate the risk this thing is creating for me.
