23-27 °C night-day,
55% RH on average.
There are 7 plants and 3 clones in the flowering tent, 3 plants in the PC mother box, 2 clones in party cups almost rooted.

* * *
Tonight 3 clones (2 wappa and shiva) entered and I switched all the lights on, the tent it's finally up as it was meant to be :) I'm waiting for Ice clone to root and have 4 in, for the first batch.

it's pretty stealthy since it's 2m (6') above the ground in a tiny studio/storage room. Too bad I'm doing nothing for noise (that fan is noisy as hell, but does a great job) nor smell for now.

Two pandoras (clones of the auto that seemed to have rooted) have been donated today to a friend - they're stretchy as hell anyways for my setup.

***
some shots of the plants, 4 of them have been flowering for 16 days, and are 42 days from seed.

now what I will try to understand is how clones behave compared to the plants from seed (this first batch only, then I'll work only with clones, starting today).
And then I'll try to figure out if it's better to have #12 pots, 2,5 l, or many more 0,75 l (soda bottles).

c ya :ying:

PS: two things I forgot about:
1) the carton boxes you see in the first pic, bottom right, are really three boxes with holes that convey air in the passive intake and seal the light, as this propagation tent only has one duct hole (that I'm using for exhaust on top).
2) I'm keeping a 1.5-2" distance of the canopy from the hps, and try to keep most colas pointing toward the light, or at least not shaded, with lst and supercropping. And some pruning as well - I guess it doesn't show that well from the pics.

hola mass! thank you :)
You're damn right, resin is the only thing missing left, I can't wait!!

* * *
Now that massud brought the subject forward, I was wondering, would a 18-23W UV cfl be useful for resin production? anyone suggests it or knows if the useful rays are shielded or not in this kind of bulb??

I took out 3 thirsty plants (wappas were low on N, and I gave 1/2 veg and flo) to fertwater.

I got seven of these around the 150W, and they seem pretty fine right now.
plants are 18 days flowering - cigarette pack for scale:

1- on a side note, Ice Cream mama has radicated and was put in soil, along with a micro clone (don't remember from which plant) I took while defoliating.

2- I bought 2 UV cfls, 15 watts each. they'll arrive via mail. I heard mister D talking about UV rays that cause the plant to produce more resin, and I want to give it a cheap try - 15-30W more and 8 bucks each... nothing to die for, and I'd like something cheap and practical to pump up resin production as HPS has a very good, but narrow spectrum.

hi IC,
little update here...

- the Ice Cream clone just became a mother, it's in the PC box along with 2 wappas and 1 Shiva: I hope one or more of these four will make a good mother.

*I don't have space to clone the other two Ice Creams from seed, so let's hope I don't end up with a shitty pheno lol...

- these first 4 clones 12/12 in the tent will be joined by another 4 soon, when I top the mothers in the PC:

*I put the PLLs fixed on the top of the tent: this way I can test each strain's stretch in a "DrBud" way... plus I don't get mad adjusting the lights everyday to keep them 1-2" from the tops as I used to be: they'll be slower and less compact but this is exactly what I'd like to test.

- I bought a spare 150W from GIB lighting (Thanks to Killerweed's accident, which reminded me I only had 1 seven month's old bulb, NOT GOOD ahah...)
The HydroGuy convinced me it's better than my Sylvania, we'll see.

*Color spectrum seems a little different, and it's dubbed "hard glass": let's hope it's not just thicker and blocks some lumens...

And now the tent:
I've been lazy enough not to pull the plants out (I already do it every two days, I'll make it up to you next time - I'm keeping closeups for when it's worth taking them!).

It is now 22 days flowering for some, less for others, and it's crowded as it can possibly be. it looks like a green ball ahah.

What I fear is that all the LST and supercropping I have to constantly do is slowing them down, but on the other hand I have no choice this round, and also there's so much bud cooking that I can't complain.

see ya :ying:

PS> the UV 15W cfls are on their way, I have to figure out a way to test them without having to build another cab, and without just throwing them in so that'll be impossible to tell the difference... ideas welcome : )

Took yesterday 3 clones:
wappa A, wappa B, shiva

the three decapitated mothers:

I've the same 3 strains who just started flowering in the tent also (they're half the height of the tent, I'm thinking supercrop maybe...):

* * *

now the tent: they've mostly been flowering 1 month now, maybe a day less (the three Ice Creams less...).
Half circle:

I just wanted to show you some single plants:
Ice Cream - Wappa - Wappa:

* * *
Shiva - Young Ices 1 and 2:

* * *
lined down (on the right, younger plants - more N, so greener and with no yellow leaves)

It's roughly 160cm x 55cm (with pots, 20cm) or 160cm x 35cm of canopy IF I keep them spaced: in the tent they are obviously closer...

***
They're not doing bad at all but I notice plants are late compared to last time:
-Could be changing the bulb spectrum along the way?
-Could be the excessive LST and SuperC.?
-Could be the temps (they top 30°, fan is good but the place is messy crowded)
-Could be the defoliating?
-Could be that leaving all bud spots is giving me thinner flowers... at least compared to giant single colas.

I think I'll pull one plant, in return I'll get plants closer to the light, more air flow, more room for buds and upcoming clones, room which now is *quite frankly* over, so why bother?
I identified the Pandora to be a candidate, but I'll see.

C ya : )

Important updates:

- UV cfls I bought SUCK BALLS... they have so many cracks in the coating they look like a starry sky... I hung and then removed them in 24 hrs.
- I bought for 30 eu a new 150 mm inline extracting fan: it replaces a 100 mm inline fan, tripling exhaust! I hope to lower temps in the 30s °C...

the new scrubber scrubbed 3-4°C :)
no mambo jumbo, basics I've learnt on IC are what matters: and for example ventilation is key, especially in a micro cab... I don't want 30 °C on my tops, slowing resin.
30° >> 27-26.5 °C now seems fair.

the down side is that you don't really want to stay in thee same room with the cab, bloody tornado that fan makes... eheh
for now the goal is to see what girls can make - from seed and from clone - and proper ventilation is priority. Later I can think of some sound proofing, maybe a diy...

sorry I'm high - watching a movie me and my gf made a little diorama, lol, turned out to be a nice avatar ;)

c ya fellows!

This is indeed a nice grow :D

And I know how much a pain in the ass noise reduction and cooling is, in a cab size like that. I'm fighting the same battle mate.

Great growing.!

5 weeks update:
clones in tent are already flowering; I bent them so that they stay compact:

3,4,5 weeks flowering now:

doughnut from above:

strains:

My fav plant - shiva skunk, it's been quite fast and is a fruity resinous pheno:

- In the end I pulled a 1 month flowering Pandora, that's why you only see six.
I smoked it, putting it in the oven ahah it's been terrible obviously.

-The 3 clones I pulled 9 days ago from the pc haven't showed any sign of roots; they've been in plain water, so today I added a little water with ferts (today's mix: weak veg, flo, S.Thrive)

EDIT: I just compared with last round, same period, pictures: this time they're indeed too slow... I feel it's stress from the high temperatures I'm having (still 29°C) plus the continuous bending, being the plants too high, which made me lose time.

These plants will probably go another month - and I already have 4 clones + 3 cuttings on their way... I have to keep newcomers short and fat, and single cola like last cycle. I also suspect lower branch #s gave me better airflow, we'll see about that ;) C ya!
