It could be the sulfates in your jack's combining with the calcium in your tap water and forming gypsum. If your sulfates are not diluted enough this will happen. Just a guess though.

this is happening immediately upon adding the jack's with no time delay so it has not had the time to form a precipitate. everything goes into solution fast except for this stuff, which settles to the bottom and slowly dissolves. in ro water it all almost goes into solution but in tap there is a higher percentage of it left over.

it acts just like straight mag sulfate, slow to dissolve.

i mix into the full amount of water, stir it in and let it set about ten minutes, stir again and then add the calcinit.

it doesn't seem to affect anything.

Have you checked the PH of the tap water. This will affect the solubility of your salts. If the PH changes after you mix your salt it could be increasing the solubility.

This is why when you get a cal mag nutrient, and it is made from calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate the PH is lowered with phosphorus acid. Lowering the PH allows these two carbonates to become soluble.

If your tap water has a high PH it may be lowered by your salts, but before it does lower you get the precipitate. Once the PH has been lower it allows for a higher solubility in your nutrient solution. Just speculation though.

I checked the ph of my water after the ro filter. It was 7.6

Not sure if that's high or low for ro water.

Seems a little high, but the alkalinity is gone. The alkalinity acts as a buffer and will hold the PH in a small range until it is over come by the acid or base you add. Your PH will move a lot quicker with the RO water after it has been filtered.

first, your plants look great! very healthy.

i like the supply and drain set up. i've never worked with the uniseals before. i was thinking about something like that using a flexible connection between the pvc and the res.

it looks like the pvc pulse feed line and it's pump are flooded at all times so you will have nearly equal pressure when the pump comes on.

i'm wondering whether your delivery is equal at all sites as i don't see any valves but if your supply lines are close to the same length the rates of delivery should be close also.

each individual module can still be moved around some as it is on an umbilical.

very nice! cheap too! cheap is good!

this is a definite step forward for rigging large rooms.
