Nirvana's Haze 1 and Papaya

The Papaya is going fine, though somewhat slow for an indica. It's smelly and just starting to put out visible trichomes.

Just a few photos of the Papaya from yesterday. She definitely isn't a quick flowerer, but has potential

The Haze started flowering with the new moon, a month later than expected. Now let's hope she'll try to make up for the lost time.

Btw, doesn't the light-green leaf on the photo above (left part) look great? The central blade, being folded, looks amazingly thin from this angle.

I didn't water it the last week because forecast was it'd rain, but it didn't, and so a little drought dried the lower leaves. The last few visits I removed most of the small branches at the bottom and in the middle of the plant, it was too dense and the inner branching received no light. Now the plant is a bit more "transparent"

The Papaya is starting to put weight:

One disadvantage of tall plants is that one cannot have a closer look and see what's going on at the top... Taking photos with some zoom and then watching the photos is convenient.

A week later:

The Haze is now tied to a big stick because it bent over the fence next to it a few days ago in stormy weather. It's doing fine though, there are no storms in the weather forecast for the next 10 days.

And the Papaya:

She's so smelly! From a few meters the smell is coffee and hash but touching the buds they smell very fruity with a fresh pine sharpness. There's definitely some mango or papaya in the fruit salad.

Papaya's pistil started turning to a shade between orange and pink.

When it was a seedling it had a weak cat piss smell, but no smell now. Only if you rub the stems they smell pine and citrus.

Hey man, Mind letting us know what you did to prepare the holes? how big did ya dig them and did you amend the soil with any thing? Also what are you feeding them giants?

To be honest, this year I was very lazy at preparing the spots - I did nothing but dig small holes enough to burry the plants' roots. No soil amendments, no fertilizers. I was lazy because I knew I could afford it - the soil at this site is good enough on its own - pigs and other domestic animals were grown there for many years (till some 6-7 years ago) and now the soil is like 50% worm castings
I only water. And spray the leaves with water in the heats a few times during the summer - to show my sympathy to the plants
The only bad point in this beautiful picture are the caterpillars, we have too many of them so I sprayed with a pyrethroid insecticide 3 times, last time was at Papaya's beginning of flowering. Other than that and water, the place has everything needed.

Papaya was also one of the first strain i grew. Super nice smoke, fruity, uplifting, trippy !

what's your fall season like there? i used to live @ 44 deg. latitude in new england and growing anything that finished later than the 1st week of october was a gamble...

looks like it's working out for you though!!
