congrats on a very good grow. I would go a little stronger with the micronutrients as I spec some yellowing on the topmost leaves.

More pics! Got back from a week of travel and the ladies are looking good. More frost, bigger buds, and the smells are getting really strong.

Ohmless- thanks for the tip. I picked up some Microblast.

Greenhouse shot. The front two have their tops tied down.

Mystery clone- I have 3 of these and they are predominantly sativa. It's smelling like Chem Dawg or Sour Diesel. This main cola is going to be bigger than my arm, and they really put on a ton of frost this past week.

Grand daddy purple- I have two of these and they are sticky gooey with a sweet and slightly skunky odor, almost minty.

In other news, I got a package in the mail that I have been SO excited to receive:

In addition to the BOG Sour Bubble, I got two freebies:

Original Haze X Skunk 1 (Sam the Skunkman, 10 seeds)

Warlock X White Widow X Northern Lights (Magus Genetics Exile, 5 feminized seeds)

My journey has just begun! Thanks again for the tips and love, folks.

All is well in the greenhouse- I will wait another week or so to put up more pics. Not much to do at this point but feed them a couple times per week.

The city I live in recently enacted an ordinance prohibiting outdoor growing because 2 or 3 uppity folks complained about the smell. It doesn't go into effect until November, so this year's crop will be fine. It will still be just fine to grow indoors, so I decided to build a little grow box for seedlings and eventually a couple of bonsai moms.

I've had this old mini refrigerator sitting in my office that hasn't worked in years. Picked up a couple of 2 foot two-tube T5 ballasts and a little pc fan, and voila! It's working great but the temp is over 80 in my garage. I got some 3 inch ducting for a short 2 foot run between the intake vent on the fridge and a vent that goes under my house. Pulling cool air from there should stabilize the temp inside to the low 70's. Just need to do a little bit of sealing and buy a 3 inch hole saw to cut the intake a little bigger.

I decided two days ago to try and pop one of each kind of seed I bought, in order to test out the box and learn a bit about seedlings. The Sour Bubble popped today and went into a little pot.

After a few hours of operation it is still cooler INSIDE the box.

Sweet Baby Jesus things are smelling dank and delicious. The sour citrus diesel smell of the three sativa plants has taken over as the primary odor, masking the pine tinged skunkiness of the GDP plants. Both types are pumping out beautiful buds with oodles of red hairs and resin.

Didn't see much stretch at all, but I think the heat has something to do with that. I also should have kept feeding them Nitrogen a bit longer into flowering. I think my leaves went yellow a bit early.

But- I think I have some good quality medicine in there and can't wait to taste it. My sour bubble seed popped and so did the skunk x haze. Still waiting on the exile.

The days are getting shorter and I'm losing fan leaves like crazy, while the buds continue to swell at a pretty good rate. Just fed them with some Earth Juice Bloom, Catalyst, Micro Blast, and Meta K, aerated for 24 hours first. I think they were really hungry :p

This is the fifth or maybe sixth week of flowering, so we're getting close!

hey bro you dont count the days outdoor like you do indoors...totally different. I have strains that take longer indoors doors than others and finfish before them outdoors...it weird...get a jewelrs loupe and scope the trichs.

I will be checking the trichs to determine when to take each plant. Only have a 30x loupe but it seems to work well enough. I will keep up that food. Thanks for always taking the time to drop a note, ZDubs.

And thanks to you also, ChunkyPigs! I have a couple little nugs drying right now. It's funny that you said "don't be afraid" because it felt so WRONG to pluck them off! My dad asked me last weekend if I had tried any and I admonished him for encouraging me to harvest my sexually immature daughters. I mean sure, I touch them sometimes and smell my fingers, but that's about it. Haha.

Also, it IS weird how the smells change from week to week. It's different this week for sure. No dogshit flavors, but I have one that is definitely not pleasant. It's lot a rotten egg skunky smell. Luckily it's not too strong at the moment.

I've been trying to root some clones to practice with. It's only been a few days so far but I'm looking forward to learning more. The BOG Sour Bubble seedling is about 3 inches tall and working on that first set of real leaves. I can already see the telltale dark green shade of the leaves and am so goddamned excited. The Skunk X Haze is also looking healthy with a dark red stem and one set of leaves. No luck yet on the Magus Exile seeds.

BORG! As I said earlier, I have been very lucky so far, and I am not surprised to find out I have a moderately severe spider mite infestation. This explains the early yellowing and spotting I have been seeing, as well as the slow growth and stretch. I only found a few small webs, mostly on the bottom branches of a couple of plants. I pulled a few of the more severely affected smaller branches.

I examined some leaves on each plant with a 30x loupe and found some on every plant. This must have been going on for several weeks, so I am confused as to why there are not more webs. Btw- for other novices: these webs are super small and thin, and easy to overlook. Check in the crooks of small lower branches very carefully to find them. I had seen pics online of main colas completely wrapped in webs, and had assumed I didn't have spider mites because it didn't look like a haunted house in there. Big mistake. The little spots on the leaves were the telltale sign that I missed.

I picked up some Liquid Ladybug and am going to spray them tonight. Bummer news, but important learning experience. I will definitely get out in front of the Borg with preventative measures from day one.

Snapped a couple of pics through the loupe with my iPhone camera. My skin is crawling after watching these:

yowch!!! I had some two spotted mites earlier in the season, luckily before they were blooming so I used some avid to eradicate them hoes.....liquid ladybug should serve you well this deep into flower.

glad they don't seem to be too bad.. its a bit tricky to deal with so far into flower if you aren't wanting to spray anything. liquid ladybug? I'll have to check that out I haven't heard of it. probably don't want to spray them off with forceful water either becuz of budrot potential?

I know they are kinda controversial to some but just to throw it out there... since you have a small greenhouse, if you closed it all up for 12 hours and threw a Hot Shot No Pest strip in there, that might work too... I know some would be hesitant since they are in flower but its a no-spray alternative.. I've used them for my indoor cab successfully before. Especially if you have a week or more left before you start pulling them down..

Good luck! plants are looking riper by the day...

edit: that liq ladybug does look pretty good from the description.. hope it works for you

I appreciate the suggestion, Growbig. I'm trying to stay completely organic and am hoping the Liquid Ladybug keeps it in check. The good news is that I'm in a hot, dry climate, and the I can keep my plants out of any rain because they are in the greenhouse. I figure I can be generous with the spraying with minimum risk of bud rot. I'll keep this updated.

Like I said, this is a lesson I had to learn, so I'm trying to be thankful. =D
