Well, I got the scope set up and successfully observed some fungal hyphae! These slide covers look good to my completely untrained eyes - they're pathology grade, if that's any objective standard, and they come in boxes that are vacuum sealed in metal pouches.

Hell yea!!!!!!! The next level......

LOL - Facebook thread about organics - someone asks about supplementing Calcium & Magnesium - the Rev says general organically CaMg+ (of course). Hahahahahahaha

EDIT: I respectfully schooled him

Smoking some of the bud from my last harvest, and the taste is the best I have ever had. The strain is Deep Funk, from Bodhi Seeds Sour D x Deep Chunk. She has been really shining more than ever with the humus rich soil, she loves it. The smell is knock down skunky, musky, putrid over the top dank, and the taste is STRONG, it is rich, buttery, and sweet.

One thing I noticed about this batch that I have never seen before is that the resin on the inside of the bong after 2 big tokes of bud was a creamy off white instead of brown to black. I have seen this happen with hash but not buds. I assume this is an indicator of purity. My guess is that the plants in the first two runs with the soil accumulated out the toxins and now it is "remediated"

Here is some scissor hash I made and "dabbed" today. I hate that word at this point, but I really like the ti skillet for smoking hash on, you get much more flavor, it is very fruity and sweet. Also it's much smoother.

Damn bro! That looks like BHO reclaim not flower resin! NICE!!!

EDIT: I mean the goo on your glass, not the scissor hash (which is looking quite fire!)

I know right? It is so dank I am posting pics of the resin, even that is impressive.

I wouldn't believe it if someone told me they got white resin from flowers, so I felt I had to post it. That pic does it no justice compared to what I saw in the sunlight earlier.

It's a whole new world where I can't recognize a fuckin thing! LOL. In general, I can ID stuff, but but I'm lost on the specifics this far. I definitely can spot those fungal hyphae, and I observe the hell outta some little cell guys (they had the nucleus and the organelles & such - just as advertised in my textbooks back in the day), but until my MicrobeOrganics DVD shows up (thx MM!) I got know idea who's the good guys and who's the bad guys - still, it's cool as hell to meet em all :)

It's funny to recall the day of the microscope lab in college bio when I was selling 20 sacks in the back of the room instead of doing my lab. Now I'm doing it for hours in my free time - karma's a bitch ;)

I believe that you said the USB microscopes weren't up to the task and is that from the poor equipment available (low resolution) or the limitations of USB? The reason that I'm asking is that Intel's Thunderbolt technology is making its way into the marketplace and Intel claims that it's 2x faster than USB 3.0

The software and ports came pre-installed on the machine I bought last summer and I'm running a 3 TB external back-up drive with Thunderbolt. Pretty fast - not sure about 2x but that's the claim.

Just curious

Don't forget the urine!

What's wrong with urine, exactly?

I understand the fact that you're not lacking in N sources, but it's certainly one of the oldest, and quite sustainable methods for fertilizing plants. I remember reading about farms which had big vats for peeing in, surrounded by a wall of geraniums, to control the smell..

Hell some plants have the ability to stop taking up N, to prevent N toxicity from when an animal takes a big pee on its roots.

Would it be better to pee on your compost?

Hi shmalphy, dank buds there! I was looking at bodhi seeds they are out of stock at my usual seedbank. Nice work on that clean bong resin.

Bodhi is the most under rated, and frequently out of stock breeder out there. I got this clone from a friend, and every time I see a release I end up missing it.

I am absolutely in love with that strain. Great coffee time smoke, because the flavor cuts right through and blends perfectly with it.

Speaking of which... LOL

Definitelty looks like the CB with some BO frost improvement.....cherryish taste proly huh? Cool stuff bro.....how's the yield? Cherry Bomb is a 30 year Maui Wowie IBL from Mr. Greengenes.....the same Cherry Bomb he gave to Reeferman who robbed the name and released a different version... the CB male used to pollenate BO was from the original Cherry Bomb.... Maui Wowie is half Afghani and half Mexican from BOEL adventures in the regions......crossed and grown in Hawaii in the 1970's...I also thought BO had a south American in her as well???

Goddamnit. Evidently there's an outbreak of russet mites going around and of course they've shown up here because I've got bad karma or something.

Never dealt with these fuckers before - any advice?

Get some predator mites....or try spinosad...it will proly get them in the larval stage.

Thanks GC! Spinosad as a foliar/spray or soil drench?

Foliar spray....I would not want to think about all the little critters it would kill in the soil as a drench...that wouldn't be good.

Of course I would try the predator mites first.......but what do I know...I could be a guy who smokes herb grown with Eagle20 and then go on a canna forum and preach with my hypocritically skewed point of view on other topics.....wurd?

Eli Lilly owns the Spinosad deal in the USA and that includes products for agriculture, gardening and the oral products for digs and cats (fleas & ticks) meaning that the 2 Spinosad are one and the same exact product.

Bonide sells their product under the "Capt. Jack's Deadbug Brew" and is a grow store products. It runs about $20.00 for 1 pint which will make 4 gallons at their suggested mixing ratio with water.

Monterey Garden Products Concentrated Spinosad is about the same price but you get 2x - i.e. a quart. There is a pre-mixed product from Monterey - avoid. Worthless.

I believe that Amazon sells the correct product.

Add Pro-TeKt and Aloe vera to your spraying mix.
