Your right if I lived in the states I'd protect my family too. The only thing I'd say is the wrong people have been awake for a long time they have the whole show sown up so you guys shooting each other at the rate of ten thousand a year give or take does nothing to protect you from your government and gives them more room to protect you from each other and that's where the problems start.

I Googled "gun deaths U.S 2011" that's all. Those wars cost you as a taxpayer but a lot of other people are making big cheese off them, your making the mistake of thinking the government is for the people by the people, it's not it's for the corporations by the corporations.

they'll NEVER ban guns.....one simple reason, there are too many dudes with little dicks over compensating for their short comings. big guns = little dicks imo. low self opinions covered by the threat of violence. calling it a self defense weapon is bullshit. it's an excuse to carry deadly force in the hopes of actually getting to use it. baseball bats can kill people too, but you don't need a license or a constitutional right to haul around a louisville slugger.

i own guns (4 rifles, and a couple shotguns, never had a need for a pistol mainly because they suck for hunting animals), and i love to shoot and hunt. been hunting and target shooting for over 30 years. i've never needed one when i wasn't doing either of the aforementioned hobbies, and i seriously doubt many here have had a reason to use one for anything other than hunting or target shooting. the more people that start carrying guns, the more people will die. it's basic logic. stupid people with deadly weapons are the main reason people get shot. hell even the cops can't hit their targets (i.e. empire state building shooting) under duress, so the chances of joe schmoe hitting his target while stressed is slim. that being said, the collateral damage is always worse than the original motive.

i'll probably be flamed for my comments, and if that's the case, so be it. it just means i'm right.....lol.

As I've said I have never purchased a firearm, but it is quotes like this that makes me want to give a LB a month to guns for ANYONE.

Hank, I think that I probably do know what you mean, but the problem comes in trying to define it. You can't, congress couldn't the last time around, and it frequently comes down to "appearance". It's like Supreme Court Justice Stewart and pornography - "I can't define it, but I know it when I see it". That's why last time AR15s got banned, but Mini14s didn't - they are functionally identical, but the AR "looks" like an assault rifle. You mention M-16s - they have never been legal for the general populace, but the AR15 (the civilian version) has been.

I know lot's of people who use AR's for target shooting, hunting varmints, deer hunting, and just plinking. I have a friend with a large ranch who uses his to thin out the coyote packs when they come circling around his house, trying to lure his dogs out so they can kill them. I have numerous long arms that are former military weapons, and most of them are bolt-actions. Do these fall into your definition?

After the Batman ordeal, all of the talking heads were yapping about "assault pistols". There is no such thing. Pistols in the military are almost an after-thought, and are never intended as a primary armament. To carry this out to it's logical conclusion, virtually every gun outside of a single-shot would need to be banned because everything else has certainly been used by the military, and if you go back far enough, even the single-shots have been too.

lmao the guns i have are a ruger 10/22, an ithaca .22 rifle, a M1 garand, a 20 gauge ithaca shotgun, and a springfield 12 gauge. i don't consider them any of them "large guns." they all have a purpose, and killing another person isn't one of em. all of em were given to me by my father who taught me to hunt and fish and to survive in the woods should i need to. i didn't learn to shoot for defense purposes, it was a tool for gathering food.

Where did you get that idea in my posts , no government is for big business , not for us sheep! That's what they are working towards us being sheep doing there bidding without any trouble!
