Yeah, lets all cross our fingers for no Ice Storm 2012 lol, if there's anything that serves as a reminder to me about the New England weather, its that. I had to cut late Sept a few years back because of so much rain and dropping temps. However I usually aim to cut right around mid Oct at latest. (42N)

Looking good Buddah :smoke:

Things going good.. Check the spot this weekend.

All plants are officially flowering now. Had to cut some of the Ace Erdpurts because mold had started kicking it. Lost maybe half ounce to it. Some of the bigger buds just rotted away. A shame but we caught it kinda in the beginning of it.

NHxCC is finally putting flowers out. This one is gonna need the weather help to finish I think. Probably till the end of October.

Enuff talk, lets see 'em pics !

Erdpurt 2, spotted a moldy spot and took this one down

There was also another Erdpurt, which mold had took over, lost nice 2 colas bc of it and it came down also.. forgot to snatch pictures. They coulda went another week to be done, but it's better to just chop and save what we can instead of losing more to rot.

Hey Buddha....
Those girls look like they will go until mid/end of October.
Around here Oct 7th is the latest in the window to harvest because of frost and cold night temps.

Whats up Alone, where you be at?

Here it depends on the weather, I think last year things were nice till the end of October when a huge snow storm hit the coast... hopefully things will stay warm till Mid-November :D

We'll see. Not much we can do, but sit, wait, smoke fatties and pray :tiphat:

I hope things are going well for you!
Peace!

Right near Mass/Conn. border in the mountains. This was like 5 summers ago but I figure the weather pattern doesnt change to much over the years.
I had 7 DJ Shorts TBB's OD's and on OCT.2nd I had to start putting clear plastic 55gallon trashbin liners over all 7 plants at night and then take them off @ 9 in the morning everyday for 3 weeks before they were ready for harvest. Temps were down in the low 30's every night just about from Oct 2nd thru November. They didnt finish until Oct 27th. If I didnt do this they would have been ruined by frost.

I got lucky noone seen them because they looked like creepy ghosts at night along the forest line.

Very Nice. You sure those Erdpurts were ready to harvest. Sept 1st is pretty fast finishings for NE. Usually Sept 20th is the earliest and Oct 1st -5th is the latest in Mass/CT border for an 8 -10 week strain (year/weather dependent).Thats awesome if the trichs were cloudy and ready for choppins. I would def put that on my list for early finishers in NE.
The BCBD Purps is a must have here in MassHole land. Ive never tasted a better OD strain grown locally.
Great Job at placing them in sunny spots out in the open like that and nobody seeing them from the ground or the sky. They look happy out there.

Im not sure if those Nev Haze crosses are gonna finish by Oct 5th. They will probably go until Nov 20th. Anyway of getting them inside to finish?

I know if you paint 1 gallon milk jugs black and place them around your plants they will absorb the heat from the sun in the water and keep the plants warm at night. Of course you will have to put taller stakes around your girls to put the 55 gallon clear trashbag liners around the tops of each plant right to the bottoms. Dont tie them around the base of the plant or it will suffocate them. Leave the bottoms open and the black water filled jugs around the bottoms of each plant and that should hold off the frost or snow and keep the ladies flowering safely until atleast Nov 1st - 10th at the latest. You will have to take the bags off each morning at 9am. After the frost is gone and sun is upon the ladies. This creates a DIY greenhouse effect for later maturing strains. Just before sundown ( 6pm ) you will have to put the bags over each plant daily and take them off each morning until they finish.

wow .. last year in New england sucked for alot of my friends.. !
Tell me about it. That freak snowstorm left everybody with no power for a week or less. We didnt have electric for 7 days. Funny thing was is that I had 4 plants at week 9 ready to harvest so I just left them in the dark for the whole week to trick them out with a thicker trichome canopy on every nugget. I got super lucky...and I didnt have anything in veg at the time. Luuucky. Or blessed. LOL.

It got really cold fast and if the OD plants were'nt ready by Sept 20th then they got frostbite and mold from all the rain. It was really cold and rained from like Aug. 15th to Sept 30th. Rain, rain, rain on all those buds trying to ripen.

Hey Alone, thanks for stopping by dude!:tiphat:

Those ACE Erdpurt's really surprised me too. They finished extremely quick. There's also a slower pheno out there that probably has another week or two. Just gotta watch out for mold towards the end, cuz they put out such dense buds covered with rezin Even tho they are pretty mold resistant! I got a few seeds out of 1 of the plants, found like 7 seeds, not sure what polinated it. but I'll def be running them next year. These plants showed a lot of vigor, they didn't get so big because they had a shitty start, and didn't stretch much... didn't put any slug bait the 1st 3 weeks after they got transplanted and the slugs nearly killed some of them... Slugs love this strain for some reason, so next year I'll take care of that :)

It's been taking forever to get this smoke dry tho... it's so dense! I'm gonna try to take some dry nug shots, they look great! The taste is pretty sweet and tasty, not good at describing it lol The high it's good, but it hasn't reach it's potential because the herb is not fully dry/cured...

Def worth running them here over NE... Next year I'm going to try some of HFH's Erdpurt crosses (Erdpurt x Bambata), along with another early strains. HFH has great outdoor gear that finish early and it's mold resistant. Definitely worth checking them out!

I'm pretty fortunate to have this place to grow... Nobody walks around there and I take a bit of a gamble with the choppers, but not many around there. We have only patches or 2 plants scattered thru a 40acre radius...

I'm aware of the Nev's cross, my expectancy date is around the end of October/beginning of November... I think one of the CJxSB will end late also... Hopefully weather is gonna help. Thanks for the tips, I'll look more into by the time it comes... Probably just add a tick layer of mulch on it to keep the soil from lowering it's temperature!

That last year strong sucked dick indeed. I didn't have power for nearly a week too and the indoor girls suffered like hell lol No vent/light/anything for a week :D

I should have some new pictures next week, might chop some HFH gear if they look ready!

:ying:
:thank you:
