Greetings, I'd like to extend my gratitude for the info in this thread. Especially since a few are in the PNW as I am.
I'm one of those guilty of living by the pH meter. As recently as this year. This is my first attempt at organic gardening and my current grow would not pass any certification process. But when I came across this thread it was the proverbial "...it just clicked..." Been growing the herb for decades and have done everything BUT organic.

I have always been suspect of the "industry". Ya know how ya go somewhere and there is someone that just gives you the creeps, don't even have to know anything about them, but you just want to avoid them...that's how I always feel about going into hydhro stores.

The pix below are the morning after an "aloe, Ful-Power, kelp foliar" dusk feeding.
So, I'd like to join in the conversation, because I have so many questions...

Gas,
question.... when mulching with leaf litter compost... would it be a bad idea w/o the need seed meal in my soil? or any other pest deterrent in there for that matter. I use a foliar of spinosad and neem oil, that's it.

I want to put some of my beautiful leaf compost on my indoor 3 gal, like I read your doing, but I'm afraid to w/o any critter getter in there.

thanks bruvvah.

Beautiful looking plants.

Since I'm relatively new to this thread, and curious also. Could i ask wht training techniques you use for your plants? LST? Fim? Top? Just curious like always... :)
Thanks man....they smoked beautiful too!
Topping....extremely managed topping.

All beautiful! Think I'm gettin' a crush on that H/CC X PK - yum!!
That H/CC x PK is gone....PM issues.
It was that Federation junk...

Don't be afraid......I would not worry about the neem seed meal since it generally is safe for non destructive species of insect.....usually safe on beneficials. It's the spinosad i'd not mess with that much....the stuff really kicks the shit out of worms, potworms, and other beneficials.....use only for thrips and only a couple times....it will kill your worms dead.

If you wanna lay the ph meter down along with mostly whatever else you buy in a bottle......all you need to do is build a proper organic soil. There are a few recipies in the beginning of the thread that can get you started on that path.

I enjoyed the hassle free aspect of the 18gal tubs I've been doing no-till (2 plants per), so I thought I'd step it up a notch. :D My backs gettin' tired of remixing soil so often, lets see how long this bag o' dirt can last just chillin' in the flower room!

This is what it takes man....just steppin up and doing it. The plants look great going into all that root space. If you have indeed assembled a complete soil then you can expect great things from this....remember that as this progresses you will need less and less of high powered amendments and teas....less truly becomes more once you get up around 3 or 4 cycles in a large no till.
You will truly understand how well your soil consumes anything once you start recognizing the transfer of nutrients from topdress material to new growth in a matter of a few days.
Plants look great man.

MM ...... i'll have to get back to you on which brand the "good stuff" was. there was more than one that was pricey, but i don't recall the exact names and prices. my short term memory sucks for some reason:biggrin:

on spinosad ....... i sprayed 3 days ago. before i did i put 2 layers of cardboard under the plants so the mulch (and the worms) would not be sucking up what dripped off the plants. did some checking under the plants this morning and found lots of happy worms

thanks for the heads up on the damage that i could have done!

As a ex botanicare user, I can answer this:

400 gallons PBP with every other watering....
20 gallons BO every other watering....
40 gallons Cal/Mag (50 if mag hungry) every other minute or so
5 gallons LK every 5 secs...

I can get you the discount (super hook up) with my hydro- card if you want?

PH pen....6.8 - We recommend you buy several pens. You have a lot of ground to cover..

Thanks bro...you know what they say.."if it ain't broke don't fix it"....but I think "things" therefore I am...and when it comes to how much better 'things' could possibly..(or not) be.. I think it could stand some more better fixin' even if it doesn't look broke.
Ya' know what I'm sayin'...

I mean I honestly feel so much better just knowing,.....I mean my confidence and emotional state of being are so much better because of that pre-mastered trouble free feeding program that I can actually go out and purchase...wow.

Now these are solid answers to my questioning and doubt of the natural processes which have been functioning just fine for millions of years before I actually found out I needed some official nute program to cover my back growing a weed...which just happens to be cannabis...plus the security of being covered out on front street too..thanks again brother~

Now that's what I'm talkin' about...ACTION,ADVENTURE,and ANSWERS...AMERICA!!!

Ironic,sarcastic,humor to some....reality to many.

:thank you::blowbubbles::tiphat:

Whats funny is I have used that exact combination before. Guilty as charged...

But I can thankfully say I am rid of the old scheme and replaced it with a "natural one".

Freshly cut lavender (had AC issue..cut a wee bit early)
Trying to get the point where I incorporate FPE's with healthy living soil.

Don't forget the urine!

Horse,cow,pig,sheep,scooby doo,whale..???

I use only barefoot hippie urine from dirty ass hippies on acid that eat only organic whole foods...all the while as they ponder the existence of the human form trapped in the shell of of the physical realm... knowing they are white light beings the whole time....and as they observe the workings of the solar system.

Look man...you can see the ph is off in this pic...notice how the trees are yellowing..they've got a cal/mag lockout really bad....some are actually dying.
