The cost associated with any procedure is ridiculous. Most of us have had a MRI or CT Scan.. This 1 procedure will run you 10k to have it done. The cost to get healthy or to fix a health problem can bankrupt you even with insurance. This makes it even harder to feel better. I dont want to owe 250,000,000 and still be sick. There is no way someone thats very ill would be able to afford that kind of care and its not anything special its normal stuff thats performed when we see a doc..Good health care is only for the 1%ers..

^dude research catastrophic health insurance as a supplement or replacement to regular it will save you all that money. The reason the 1% percenters know this stuff is because they hire an accountant that knows this stuff. Us poor people have to read. lol

I still dont have the money to pay for this type of insurance. I'm disabled so my income is well not much.. I use my SSI(medicare) It pays 80/20.. I would need to find insurance that would cover my pre existing condition and allow me to buy it when i'm not 50 years old. I tried to get sup Ins I was told I have to be 50...I cant afford to pay for serrvices. one vist to the doc is 250$ and that does not include any kind of tests that he wants to do. I dont have 250 to spend everytime I need to see him.. I have read some bad storys about that kind of ins not paying....

Catastrophic insurance is a type of fee-for-service health insurance policy that is designed to give protection against, well, a catastrophe. It is sometimes referred to as a High Deductible Health Plan because low monthly premiums are traded for a significantly higher deductible. This means that with this plan, routine doctor's visits and prescription costs are more expensive, but monthly premiums are lower. So you take on more out-of-pocket expenses in exchange for lower premiums. If you're healthy, you save money. But if something catastrophic happens, you're covered.

Just a few thoughts. What percentage of personal bankruptcys are due to medical expenses.

What percent of your next twenty year salary will go to repaying student loans.

These are the toughest times economically that this forty nine year old can remember.

I'm gonna be T.O.U. compliant. A sad thing is gonna happen, for various reasons a whole lot of people aren't gonna vote.

What happens to a group that doesn't participate....that's right they get bupkis. Politicians are elected by voters that's who they work the hardest for.

What group regularly gets the most props because they stick together....seniors. That's right, seniors. It may take them ten minutes to get moving, but they vote.

Look at the Tea Bagers. They got laughed at, ridiculed they were the butt of the joke everywhere for Sunday news shows to SNL. They got the last laugh they stuck together and won several election.

In about seventy five days a VERY important election is going down. You may not like what is being offered, but not making a choice could be worse.

Government.
Elected representatives.
Be it encumbered or un.
Not the entity.

Man... I'm probably going to regret this, but as a Libertarian and a thinking person yours is a legitimate question that not only must be asked, but must be answered.

On the surface, we say no, the government has no business telling an entity what it can charge for a given service or product. That is in a healthy, 'properly functioning' (for purposes of this discussion by that I mean a system as envisioned, a system that I personally believe is what built America) capitalist system. In a properly functioning system the dollar is the vote and the dollar dictates what the market will bear, too, yes? And should that entity cause harm, those who were harmed might be assumed to have a right to redress in court, agreed?

In that system, I would generally agree. In that system we might also assume no subsidies from said government for any entity. If an entity receives subsidies (taxpayer dollars) then it is my stance that it is appropriate for the subsidy provider to lay claim to set prices.

In our broken, chimeric, dysfunctional corporate-friendly, individual-unfriendly system? Not so much. It's all kinda fucked up, and I haven't found answers in my own head for the problems present.

fivethirtyeight.com has Obama at 84% chance of winning the electoral college. Romney is losing a lot of ground in Ohio, which he desperately needs.

You should of got a plan f when u qualifed for Medicare. You would have had the best insurance plan in the world for around 250-300 a month. Everything covered 100%

I can't believe how many people keep throwing away their vote on a "lesser evil" when a third party only needs 5% of the popular vote to be given federal funding and debate inclusion.

I also can't believe how many people buy all this crap, if Romney wins we're gonna outlaw all abortions and rape will be legal, if Obama wins he'll surrender our nukes to the Chinese, so I guess that makes Ross Perot our only hope?

R/D have merged into one greedy beast, nothing about the path of our country or the last 10 years would have been different under any other president of the current one party system, no, Al Gore would not have floated in and saved us all with his magic laser cape, no, John McCain would not have donned the black robes of the emperor and killed the younglings, we would be in the same shitty boat we are in now, with different people jeering about thinking they're right.

If you hate the Republicans more, vote Green, if you hate the Democrats more, vote Libertarian, keep hope alive.

yeah they said the same thing about Nader

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iraq_War

Hundreds of thousands paid for their lives for that mistake.

Syndicated columnist Marianne Means said of Nader's 2000 candidacy,
His candidacy was based on the self-serving argument that it would make no difference whether Gore or George W. Bush were elected. This was insane. Nobody, for instance, can imagine Gore picking as the nation's chief law enforcement officer a man of Ashcroft's anti-civil rights, antitrust, anti-abortion and anti-gay record. Or picking Bush's first choice to head the Labor Department, Linda Chavez, who opposes the minimum wage and affirmative action.[29]

Both parties are the same right?

You imagine that the personal preferences of a talking head for a corrupt 1 party system actually influences policy?

100% of the Bush presidency would have been the same under Gore, imagining that a D in front of your name makes you the good guy is pure delusion.

At the end of the day, the real decisions are being made by: MONEY.

That stupid SOB Romney. It's foolish and naive to believe MMJ is a gateway drug. Alcohol is far more so than MMJ.... Parent's med cabinets are "gateways". Heck, inadequate and ineffective parenting is a bigger gateway.

I feel like one of Romney's biggest weaknesses is that he is so naive. He's going to continue this losing battle then and see our country waste more borrowed money I guess.

To hell with him, he's just not very bright after all.

strictly an outside observer ... mean no disrespect ... but boy! your nation seems in a hell of a mess!

No kidding, we have terrible choices, not as "pot smokers" but as Americans. Both candidates stink, if not outright suck. Obama's a lying prick and Romney's a boring white guy lacking a unique or coherent vision.
