Those "pine" trees look to be Hemlock, which are evergreen & a conifer. However, they have totally different ecology, usually, then pine trees.
Pine trees don't handle a lot of water and usually start to die off with water amounts that hemlock requires because of lack of oxygen. The understory is usually grass and nutrient poor shrubbery [asters].
Hemlock, likes well drained soil and require about 10" of water/ year more than most pine species. So you have that going for yah. [More annual precip, better soil]. The understory also has a lot of Mint and Vaccinium [blueberries, huckleberries, cranberries] along with the grass and the soil usually has a more rounded nutrient profile.
Keep it up, I have OD under some fir/hemlock mix with nettle blocking most of the real estate and never have had a finer place.
Keep looking around for spots, you can find one that you don't have to drag nutrients or water too, just your eyeballs and couple of beans. Peace!
Yeah we do have lots of wild blueberries growing in our area's and we do have a fair amount of rain each year! The soil underneath is beautiful soil and the plants are loving it!
Here's some more pictures from today I took a visit... The AK which is my favourite gained another 5-6 inches.. its Madness!!!
Nice words for your nice ladies!!! i asked because the ones in the pot look smaller, paler, maybe they need the earth but the super bud and AKs will smother them with giant colas!! you may need to find a next spot to handle this august stretch.
So here's the skinny. First forgot my camera no picks this week
3 of the Ak's were males... had to chop em..
3 AK 47's, 2 Vanilla Kush and 5 Super Bud are left.. im quite happy with that!
They were all the bigger ones... I almost cried..
There all doing absolutely fabulous besides that, alot of growth, got all the other plants in some holes. So all is well..
But my car broke down the other day and I left my Pure Vida bloom nutrients in the car... so I had to use MaxiBloom 7g per Gallon... Since i got a ton of it im just going to keep using that stuff for the rest of the season If the next week fares well!!
Also I used some serenade biofungicide because I hear around here where we have a humid August and September were fairly susceptible to bud rot and this works wonders.
Things are looking great and right on track!! Sprayed with the serenade yesterday and also fed the plants, going to def feed as much as possible now they need it. I could see some sliiiight deficient problems but nothing to be worried about! 1 More AK was a Male so now im down to 9 O well worse has happened.
There we are!! All is welll in the land of green!!
Comments welcome!
they are looking great,, way to keep on the ferts during the middle grow period. Most people slack off and miss the real heavy feeding and growing period-> right now
they look good, happy to get the nitrogen you gave them. You can see they are getting bigger fast. Have you used and micronutrient or SoCalMag ferts yet?? they are getting big enough they want that badly. (local stars!)
Honestly, I used Pure Vida organics and once Maxi Bloom but that was a pain in the ass soo I went back to pure vida.. Next feeding im going HEAVY!
2EC with some Cal Mag and some 0-10-10 .
They look like they can take it
I personally cant wait for next year, to grow a better crop with what ive learned...
Doing half decent for my first Soil / outdoor ever
