you get what you pay for!!

I understand these lamps do look nice and seem to be quality built, but still, include shipping the lamps out here, custom taxes, I'd be paying too much... I even think if I did not have to pay for shipping and taxes, that they still are pricey.

what's the useful life of these? 4-5 years?

SupposEd to be 10 years I think. Talking to someone in English and dealing with an American company is worth the extra $ IMO. I considered others from other companies but customer service and turn around time was important to me.

crazy, 10 watt LED chip..

wonder if that's gonna light bleach the plant or not, as it would have seemed better to use multiple 3 watt chips instead of 1, 10 watt, any explanation why this is better guys?

I have 2-200watters in my 2x3 tent and really like the coverage. 1-200watts would probably be fine though. On their website the have a list o each light and what they say it covers.

Does anyone know of any logical reason to buy these lights with such a mark up from "Diamond" when you can buy ones that seem to be identical from the manufacturer EShine for less than half the price including shipping?

Because they are made to Advanced Led's specifications, they have a solid design that they are working with. You can order similar looking products but unless you are ordering them in quantity they can easily slip you in some cheaper components. The case might be the same but the guts will be different. Never underestimate the Chinese's ability to sell you a lower quality product.

Do you know the exact specs you want, beam angle, spectral distribution, brand diodes, etc?

Warranty may be the same but the shipping back to china for a repair is going to suck. Advanced will send you a new light before you send the broken one back. They are your gateway to quality.

I almost went advanced, but chose another american company instead. Also way pricey.

I did come up with a warranty issue 10 days into a new grow. Vince in California answered the phone and had 2 modules to UPS the next day. The price seems much more reasonable after that experience. He accepted a photo of the LED's not working and the nonfuctional modules got put in the trash, saving everyone freight money.

I have a second overpriced american brand now also, would not go any other way, saving a buck now costs two bucks later.

Amen to that brother! Shipping to china I'm sure is expensive and takes forever. I ordered some hygrometers that came from there on ebay and took like 3-4 weeks for a $1 item.

in my 2x2 space, i have 1 ds200 led lamp. seems very good compared to the 400w hps i had in there. the last pic i uploaded was the ds200 in a 2x2 space.

heat is NOT an issue with these lamps.

considering you just said in another thread you got an oz in a 4x8 grow area then you will be amazed. i got the 400ds for my 4x4 tent, i plan on getting another. I'm also thinking of getting a 4x8 as well, then maybe have four 400ds in there.

The other thread was related to 1 Strain I grew in the Scrog. I had 8 plants going that was just 1. My jack-47's pushed out 6 oz's each. On top of those I had a Super Lemon Haze that decided it wanted to be about 5 feet tall.... Was first grow in a while so I was testing the strains for traits. next grow will be all one for uniform growth.

The reason the one purple plant was so low is because its a short indica that topped out at the scrog Screen and only the buds pushed through. The jacks raised 2-3 feet so the lights had to be raised about 4 feet from the Purple plant giving it barely any light when the jacks were only 3 inchs away.

Here is a that grow at the end of 2 week 12/12 transition Stretch(I had to raise them about 6-7 inchs after these pics were taken). The plant ALL THE WAY to the LEFT the Tiny Short one you can only see the end of is my Purple Snow flake that harvested an oz.It barely goes above the screen and As you can see the lights are much further. The jack-47s are the tall center ones.

Phychtron - A 4x8 tent with 4 x DS400's would be badass. How well does the DS400 work in your 4x4 tent?

well I had to take them out of the tent when some chemdog grew up past the lights and i couldn't raise them up any more. Now i'm trying to tame the garden back down to that size but the 4x4 is just too small at the moment. Ive got four blackstar 240's and the 180 extreme flower. kicking ass, but I have one tall plant that is messing up my light height.

Hey Azu...
Hmm interesting lights I wonder how they stand up to my Evo90 v3's

Where were you able to pick up those Evo's? I've heard not good things about the company...? But have been quite interested in the product. Looks great...just hard to get my hands on.

Advanced seems a bit easier to deal with...especially from US.

Hey Keep, The Evo's are quality lights and work great for Mother tents for sole use but they and IMO all LED's are best for supplemental lighting. Here is a shot of how I was testing them with different arrangments at alternate angles for optimum lighting but in the end I went with a mixture of multiple Gavita 1000de's with the EVO's supplement between them.
