What Makes A Master Grower ?

Master Grower is just a title someone gives a person who knows enough to be dangerous, lol.
If you own your garden you can be your own master grower.
I have not met many folks who grew great cannabis and could not grow tomatoes.
That simple fact that you are here means that you either seeking info or giving out great advice, both of which are good things!
I never seem to be able spend much time up here, but I like to search around see how others are coping with whatever is happening in their gardens, their state, the movement in general.
Oh, and one other thing....most folks who consider themselves master growers do not tout themselves as such, if you want to grow long enough to get there, you keep a low profile.

Being a "master Grower" is an opinion. Nothing more. Opinions don't mean shit.

Case in point Cannabis cups.

IMO a master grower is one that can trouble shoot any plant issue yield over gram per watt consistently have expertise in all area's of botany. Help members learn from him have vast knowledge of different growing techniques , and styles

I have to disagree about the age thing, i heard of cats that were growing at 4 years old. so it is possible for one to be 25 and have 30 seasons under their belt.

what is a master anyway? just one who is not a student?

there are so so so many plants that really we need far more than ganja (say if the supermarkets couldnt feed you suddenly, and the agripharma-nazis werent killing your liver) and you would have to start to master all of them before your getting near to being allowed to inflate your ego to the title of master imo,,, but then it wouldnt matter because you/i would realise then how hard it is to keep up, and that being a "master" was only a path anyway, not a destination,, one that many have walked..

so its irrelevent who thinks who is what because their is no student or master really just those on one path in search of truth.. unless someone assumes the position and mannerisms of a master and uses that power, which is potentially good and bad, to subvert people for whatever reason..

to be able to say you were up to a really high standard of growing dope alone(master still sounds pretentious) then i guess you need to be able to get the very best out of every grow space possible at least in all mediums maybe,, and probably be able to grow/know most phenos out there from the little chunky ones to long old dangly things, and everything in between,, which would be very hard for anyone to do,, so i dont know, but what i just smoked was pretty potent..

A master grower is someone who can grow in any situation, in any enviroment, and with any brand of nute organicly...

When any brand of nutes is being used.... its not organic an more

A master grower is someone who has mastered their own garden... over years of trail and error... to produce the healthiest plants possible

Master Gardener means you had to pay money for your knowledge. Comes out of books, egos and business opportunities.
If you´re talking about people that mastered the art of gardening, i know a few and they, usually, don´t care shit about Ego driven man made tittles.

MASTER GROWER is a ego trip *( maybe journeymans tops),....
you dont see trades people saying they are master Plumbers , carpenters , etc.

4 year undergrad degree in Botany plus 10 years field experience is the minimum. Look at farming 15 years ago 90% small farms 10% large farms. Today 90% large farms 10% small farms. Old school farmers could not compete with educated farmers. Today every large farm has its own consultant (plant scientist). Most growers have no clue and the ones that are willing to "chase the cheese" will only go as far as to take "watered down" junior college hort classes. Perfect example is Oaksterdam, you got a teacher there who was an ex medical major in college? WTF taking classes from a guy who can't even finish his degree wtf does a medical major have to with Botany?
