I didn't like the GO.. it clouded up my nutrient solution really bad.. made things go foamy and stinky.. I threw it out and ended out going Advanced nutrients product.. can't remember what their name for it is..

mgk :tiphat:

Yeah, it does make it pretty cloudy, thats fine with me if it works, can i still use it with the MB? something about an organic mineral nute, and something like MB would be a disaster. I mean the GO line is coco friendly so im thinking it should be fine.

Any problems with running Canna A/B and veg and then switching over to K.I.S.S Method for flower? For some reason my veg plant's aren't to happy with the MB in veg. Sensitive lil' bitches!

Okay so I searches the whole thread and only found a couple ppl who use hard water. I'm starting out at like5.8-6.0 when I add MB of course it brings it down so I got a bottle of Ph up from petsmart. I use the Ph down last grow works fine. When I add Ph up it's not really making a difference I mean color is staying same color in my test kit. I tried a couple runs and still can't get it up to 5.8 I noticed on the bottle it said that hard water may require more Ph up and it may take longer to work. Does anyone use hard water or know of or had a similar experience as mine
I don't wanna keep feeding if the Ph is off.

I believe since you are using the aquarium ph up it takes While to buffer so it doesn't shoc k the fish. Get your self some real ph up or a silica product. Silica you have best of both worlds, strong stems, and ph up.

I dont know if you have access to reverse osmosis water but I cut my tap water with r/o water and it works great.

Mattkilla i am running water from a spring. It has a ph 6.0. I use ph up or down and it works fine for me. The ph up and down was from hydro store. It worked quickly no problems.

Yea the Ph down I used worked pretty fast but it was on city tap water so I guess hard water takes longer . Honestly as much Ph up that you have to add seems like they water the shit down put it in a bigger bottle and charged 2x as much For it at grow shop. But if I continue to have a problem ill see if that's the source. So far so good with my kiss experience. I'm feeding my newly xplanted clones about 25% MB. Just moved three more SUPER Lst'd girls into flower and began 100% MB. As I am switching from technaflora veg. Still running the three girls I had with technaflora bloom. So I should have a decent lil comparison in a month or so of techna vs. Maxibloom. Thanks guys for the quick response I kno it was kind of a silly? Might get few pics next time I'm at grow house.

Hey just wanna say thanks to all you guys for this thread!

I spent alot of money on different things in the past, since I started on the MB I
my PH is more stable and the plants are looking great!!!

This really is KISS! :)

I'm a noob and this stuff is working great for me. 1/2 strength for my moms using hydro spikes and full strength for the girls vegging under the HPS. Keeping it simple with tap water doing E&F in hydrotone 4 floods a day. I add a little PH up once a week and all is good. Two questions for the old hands, when I flip to 12/12 in a few days, should I still do 4 floods (lights on) every 3 hours or cut back to 3 floods every 4 hours (lights on)? And does anyone see a benefit using koolbloom earlier in flower? Or is the only benefit to use it just before flush?

So i ordered some pro silicate and i am goin to start using it so i need to know. If i add the Silica Product before i Add the nutrients ( like is suggested to avoid lockout) then how in the world could i Get an accuracte ph reading. I am Using MaxiBloom and will be using the silica as a PH up adjuster. So if by what ive read about adding the silica first, How could I make a reasonable guess on what my final PH would be after adding Nutes 2nd? If anyone had a logical answer it sure would help...i might just be overthinking this

high matt, it is suggested that you add the silica first because adding it after makes the solution cloudy, almost like something is settling out.

in my own case i add 10ml's of Silica Blast per gallon which brings my ph up to piss yellow after i add the MaxiBloom, i used to add half this amount but then i needed to add ph up to balance things so i just said 'fuck it' and upped the silica.

what you need to do is ph test your water source BEFORE you add anything so you have a baseline to work from, in my case my local tapwater is close to a ph value of 8 so if your water source is similar than your need for silica will be similar.

keep in mind that things like adding the silica first isn't a carved in stone rule and if you need to do it in reverse until you learn your values, no big whoop.

My understanding is that you want to add the silicate first because it can bind with nutes if added after. I started with about 3ml per gallon and kept upping it until I found the sweet spot where I no longer had to use pH Up. My tap comes out at 7.7 pH and around 6ml per gallon gets me to 5.7-5.8 after adding the MB.

Well thanks guys that gives me a feel for it. Hey AB u said u said fuck it and went full strength. Isn't silica something I want to gradually introduce? I've done tests from playing with Ph up. My water comes out around 5.8-6.1 it is hard water from a well . When I add MB it takes it to 4.8-5.0 right now I'm adding 1/2 tsp Ph up and it takes it to 5.8-6.0 or piss color.so I'm thinking I'm not gonna require near as much silica as u guys... Like u said I can add vice versa (silica 2nd) til I get it right, but I don't wanna feed plants this mix do I? I'm pretty sure from other things I've read it locks calcium out when u add silica 2nd.
adding Silicate first means you are adding nutrients to a DILUTED silicate solution. Adding it second means you are adding CONCENTRATED Silicate solution to diluted Nutrients. The potential for reaction comes from having such a concentrated silicate.

Here's a old thread talking about it.

And thanks again for the response any other experiences?

Will this method work with a soil less mix ?

I have 3B mix and their are no micro nutes or anything , just a soil less medium

Will the maxibloom cover all the other micro nutes also besides just the npk ?
