What I'd like to do with "botanical teas" (if that's a proper term) is come up with somewhat of a routine/schedule/rotation of soil drench/foliars with different plants. ie. week 1 nettle week 2 comfrey week 3 alfalfa etc etc. And at the same time maybe there is no "better" routine and just alternating weekly/biweekly will give the garden the full range of various benefits offered from botanical teas.

I tried that approach but found it really didn't work - for me anyway. I kept thinking of new plant materials to test and by bringing in my experience in fermenting using wild yeasts (Carandang's BIM tenet) in artisan bread baking.

So tonight the new transplants are getting a combo of sprouted Alfalfa & Barley seed tea with the usual attendants: Aloe vera and Silica

Seeds contain massive levels of enzymes when they're mature. When the seed germinates it's those enzymes that interact (enzymes being catalysts) with a ton of 'things' in the soil that allow the tap root to take hold establish itself.

Which leads me to one of the great questions I have about cannabis growing lore: What exactly does Dioxin bring to the party?

Just curious as usual

Advanced pricing is more like it.....what a deal!!

The citric acid is proly used to either 'balance' the Ph in the concoction and/or act as a preservative for a long shelf life. Could be there to just fuck up things when you use it so you go scampering back down to the dro-store to buy the solution to the problem eh....I dunno simply because I've been over that BS for a quite a while now.

The whole thing is dishonest right off the starting line so who's to say except the chemistry educated vultures blending the shit, the scrubs that market it,and the people 'smart' enough to figure it out before making a decision to purchase the stuff or not.

Personally I buy things depending on how cool the package looks...does it have pit bulls, naked ladies, sharks, bears, spiders, flames and Harley Davidson's racing up the side of the bottle????

You want to see Dishonest? Do a search on what the term "Soluble Potash" actually means.

Then head over to the big exporter, Alibaba.com, and continue the party.

By the time it's diluted from 51% (shipping number) to the retail bottle percentage, 3%, the product has a landed cost of $.65 per gallon (at 3%)

It probably cost more to have the graphic "artist' add that to the label than the actual contents.

On a surfing trip to K85 down in Baja when I was a kid (even before Nixon was elected!) we bought a 'lid' of some pot from a couple of Mexican surfers which was somewhat violet in color. Not purple but violet. It was the first 'boutique pot' that we had ever seen. Never saw it again and it was definitely a Sativa as this was long, long before the whole hybrid deal took off.

Then about 4 years ago when I got the OMMP card I picked-up a cutting at one of the clinics and it was labeled Purple Shaman which I later figured out was a commercial seed from a small(er) breeder in Holland (I'm pretty sure that's right) and what was interesting was that the leaves were not and did not change color (I tried) but the pistils were reddish and kinda purplish somewhat like the CB photo but it's definitely a completely different plant - I wasn't trying to make that comparison at all. The web site that I found offering this strain claimed that it was an African - their claim and not mine.

Actually the Purple Shaman was but one of many that I got from the clinic that made me think "I can see how a plant could be cloned 2 maybe 3 times but after that you have to wonder why anyone would take a cutting and grow it much less dump it on some unsuspecting MMJ grower" - pretty much worthless other than the eye candy appeal from the unique pistil color.

The Mexican was much better - LOL

EDIT: What do you think of the Nigerian? Probably not much of a medical strain, per se, but definitely a good one for it's recreational value

This one is the most ridiculous product I have seen. It basically comes in a perfume bottle, at perfume prices too, 5.5 liters runs about $500... I am not sure where to find prices on all of that, but I am going to get some Bentonite at Portland Pottery (ironically) for short money which I assume is what their "clay mineral" is...

This flowering innovation does not contain any ballast ingredients such as sodium and chlorine.

Compared to other cocktails, Bloombastic contains at least 50% more phosphorus and potassium.

That is the king of retarded that I know of. A strong acid and a strong base in the same concentrated formula...the clay is there to hide the precipitation...guaranteed.

I would be surprised if there is 5 bucks of stuff in that bottle. But it is a really cool bottle.

The funny thing is you have people that swear by it...brings the bling. No telling what the one would look like if you cheap bastards would give it this stuff

I love good Mexican...not the brown beat up shit...the green stinky and sticky full of seeds type that is hard to come by as a 'white' guy. The high is seriously psychedelic and rivals the 'top' names in Haze. On this 'green' Mexi there was often streaks of redish/purple....I dunno..it was great...$60 bucks an ounze in 1990.

Being that Maui-Wowie is half Mexican.....( I recently found out what region that Mexican came from...but forgot..Sayula..or Sahuayo???....in the hills)

....anyway the Nigerian landrace....Has bag appeal if the plant is allowed to 'mature' before flowering. Larger plants in larger pots are beautiful. As far as medicinal goes.....it gets heavy on the eyes and after a few hours of smoking there's a few around who agree it has some kind of effect on the eyes that makes you just want to shut them....yet there is no urge to actually fall asleep.

The cross to BMR kept the flavor, and at least half of the 'eye' effect....whilst increasing potency and yield. Not bad...but I don't smoke it because it wrecks my day with a serious space-out effect....huh..what..?...oh....ok...yeah...I forgot.

There's an intellectual pair to draw to

Thumb Dick:

That's Danny. But don't say it, Nancy, I... I know it's been hard, but I wanted to give you the swellest honeymoon a girl ever had. We're going to Greece!

Nancy (from the Sigma Delta Thai Sororiety)

And swim the English Channel?

Thumb Dick:

No, no. To Ancient Greece, where burning Sappho loved and sang and stroked the wine-dark sea, in the temple by the moonlight, wa da doo dah...

Propagating more myth...dude should be ashamed...and be schooled with real world hard knocks.

Meanwhile my compost pile is looking great with the addition of horse manure, straw, and kitchen scraps.

I'm locked into the functioning reality of soil biology myself....Can't argue with a pile of compost...it won't listen to BS......but it will eat BS.

I heard it was 20 joints..but CC knows for sure....Microbeman recently describe what a lid was then also....you know that son of a bitch who's been educating people for free for years on end who got banned for something about pricing on stuff....jeeesh.....some people and the stuff they do for free.....

My parents bought 'lids'....Panama Red,Columbian,etc...and of course the Thai sticks. I remember the smells of these types, nothing around like it nowadays...and being fortunate enough in my youth to have sampled them.

Saw some kid this past weekend with what he called Thai stick...It was a bud of some kind of poly-hybrid with a piece of string wrapped around it...I didn't say anything but smelled it....a FAR cry from Thai stick bro.....I dismissed him as trying to pass off a name that he had heard of as the real deal..LAME~
