Laguna Seca!

Laguna Seca!

Yes, I drove it down 101 a couple times, awesome drive.
One of the most fun times with the Shelby was 'track day' at Laguna Seca with the NorCal Cobra Club! Doing 150 down Rayhal straight, & then brake hard into the corkscrew! Woohoo!:woohoo:
The Norcal Cobra club, rents the track at Laguna Seca once or twice a year. Most fun I ever had with my pants on!:tiphat:

Our chickens love Pot!lol!
They nibble a few lower leaves every day, they love it
I know you can add Omega3 to eggs by adding it to their feed. Do you think that works with THC?!

Here's the first Shelby Cobra CSX2000

A few yrs ago i used to know a guy & his son that built AC`s . It was fasinating to watch a sheet of metal being shaped by hand & rollers into a wing hood trunk etc . Over the course of a week you`d see a complete body being formed then fitted onto the chassis they`d built . They took me down to Goodwood on the AC Cobras day & i had my first go on a racetrack with a car built for speed .
He had a few cars that were sent over from the States for a refurb or rebuild including one that had about 20 bullet holes !Love the Shelby .

& i reckon all them riders in Motocross have iron nuts .

That's funny, because my wife promised to finish me off sitting in the car, if I ever wrecked it!...........Sounds like somebody else wasn't so lucky!lol!

That factor alone took a lot of the fun out of driving the Shelby, I was sooo afraid of wrecking it. The car was WAY over powered, it's a handfull to just drive around the block.
The only insurance I could afford was very limited. I could never leave it unattended, had to be in a locked bldg, in a trailer didn't count as a building. Driving it to work was a huge nono! But I thought since I had gun coverage I'd be ok!lol!

I got sideways several times when I wasn't even gunning it. It was a wreck trying to happen!

P.S. You should see the crowd around the Shelby at the local midnight street racing hangout! I would show up just to see the look on the 'tuners' faces, Priceless!lol!:tiphat:

This is a pretty damn great little thread you got going on here JJx2 .......

i can see it has earned you quite a few blocks there under your name....

congratulations.... you seem to have a lot of good stories....

now what im really curious about are the stories that you choose not to share on here! :biglaugh:

amongst all of the outstanding, borderline unbelievable positions you have been in life, i especially find it interesting and intriguing (to say the least) that you were a guard @ folsom...

it takes a certain "iron balled" person with a certain borderline crazy mentality in order to be a prison guard for a single hour let alone "25 years" like you. One phrase for that, and that would be "HOLY SHIT!"........ and were talking folsom.... were not talking some county jail, or some club fed joint...... i watched a documentary on folsom and that place was just ruthless..... actually there was a member here who posted some pictures on here from his visit to folsom,,, i wonder if the pictures and him r still around......

anyways thanks for sharing your stories.... im glad you take joy in explaining your story to complete strangers.... most of this population here on icmag consists of 18-30 year olds, and soon enough most vietnam era vets will be dying off and when that happens, so will their stories.... so its smart of you as well as it honorable of you to leave your words here for hundreds if not thousands to read and always remember.....

you r one good human being as far as im concerned....

if i find that guy who posted the pictures i will connect you to him or his thread somehow ....

peace and hair grease...

"Can't afford to lose it, & can't buy it back"!

A man is only as good as his word.
I try not to post about things that I cannot provide evidence or prove.. There are some things I haven't posted because I barely believe it myself & hell I was there!

I try to be as credible as I can & not embelish things too much. I'm here to answer first hand any questions about what I've written. If you find some of the things I written hard to believe, I can only say "I'm with you, me too". I can't believe I lived thru much of it.

Keep reading for your own entertainment but let me say, I haven't written anything that I don't know to be true or experienced myself.

P.S. And yes, there are some things I will probably never post about

Bad day at the office

Bad day at the office

Here's what a bad day at the office looks like at Folsom:
Most of these convicts had weapons
I referred to these as "Shit" days. A day that just made you say "Shit"!
I would tell my wife it was another 'shit' day today.

Shit!

Shit!

I did some stuff I'm not very proud of at Folsom. Like this.

I gave this convict good work reference that helped him get out of prison early & get a job as a janitor upon release.

The girl was 18.......... Shit!:frown:

Janitor Convicted of Rape and Murder

California and the West

Crime: Man found guilty in student's slaying faces death penalty. Crime led to curbs on hiring felons.

August 31, 2000|ERIC BAILEY | TIMES STAFF WRITER

SACRAMENTO — A janitor was found guilty Wednesday in the 1997 rape and murder of a popular high school senior, a crime that prompted California legislators to tighten employee screening and prevent hiring felons convicted of serious crimes.

Alex Dale Thomas, a convicted felon and Los Angeles gang member, now faces a Sept. 18 hearing to decide if he will be sentenced to death for the daytime slaying of Michelle Montoya at a rural Sacramento County high school.

Montoya, a popular 18-year-old at Rio Linda High School, was discovered dead in the wood shop, her throat slashed. Thomas, on parole for manslaughter at the time of the crime, was arrested by police within hours.

Somber friends and members of Montoya's family said they gained a small measure of vindication from the verdict by a jury in Sonoma County, where the trial was moved because of intense publicity about the case in the Sacramento media.

"Justice was served today," said Montoya's mother, Pam Schleeter. "But it's still a big hole in our hearts. It's still a loss. It still doesn't bring her back."

Schleeter said she believes in capital punishment and believes that her daughter's murderer "doesn't deserve to live."

"Michelle went through a lot at his hands before she died," Schleeter said. "She was my best friend, and he took her away from me."

The trial opened in early July with a surprise twist as defense attorney Bradley Holmes admitted that Thomas had killed Montoya, but argued that they engaged in consensual sex. The tactic was designed to keep Thomas off death row. If he had avoided the special circumstances crime of rape, Thomas would have at worst faced life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Thomas had worked at the school, which draws from a mix of rural and suburban communities in the northwest corner of Sacramento County, for three days before his arrest. Although he was a Folsom parolee at the time, he was allowed to start the job before a background check was completed.

A member of the 107th Street Hoover Crips gang in Los Angeles, Thomas also had served time for armed robbery. In a job interview with school officials, Thomas covered a "107" tattoo on his forehead with cosmetics. He was hired under a state law that allowed districts to employ temporary and substitute workers for nonteaching positions before criminal background checks were completed.

The shocking murder on a school campus prompted the Legislature to push through new state laws banning the hiring of felons and requiring completed background checks of school employees before they go to work.

Schleeter said she has gotten some solace out of the legislation and the reality that it may help save other lives.

"Michelle is living forever through those laws, protecting other kids so no felons can work in the schools," she said. "But it's pretty bad you have to give up a life to pass a law."
