Told gun seller Im a card holder, big mistake?

i play jp breaking the law as i see the boarder. if you look the cool type you can find anything at a gun show . i have bought shit in the parking lot LOL i am saving up for something special and really powerfull thats prob not legal in my state. fuck em

I probably have grabbed what you are looking for. Where I am there are no restrictions on anything. I'm even able to get my suppressor tax stamp so we've been eying the .300 blackout rounds for ar-15s.

Speaking of parking lots, have you seen 'heavy metal parking lot' and 'dream deceivers', both jp films?

I always find it amusing when people talk in absolutes about the vagaries coming out of Washington. Twenty years ago, actually far less than that, no one would have dreamed that the Federal government could/would force private citizens to buy a product from private companies, with enforcement by the IRS and upheld by the Supreme Court. Regardless of what you consider the likelihood, vigilance is in order.

Well, if there is only one absolute I could choose when it comes to government and country, it would be that the 2nd amendment isn't going anywhere.

Oh no you didn't. I now see that bit was about Obamacare. What's next, a bit about fake birth certificates? Private citizens won't have to buy health care. But when 2014 comes along they will pay an extra tax if they choose not to obtain it. I have no issues with it. I'm for single-payer health and education, I'm LEFT of Obama on this issue.

THE PABLOS

Hey guys! The other day I went into Big 5 to buy my first gun. I was filling out the form when I came accross the "unlawful user of marijuana" question. I stopped and asked the guy helping me that Im a card holder and if that would bring up any complications. I hadn't looked into it before. He said he didnt know but suggested that I stopped filling it out and look into it before I continued. I didnt finish filling it out and I started to look into it. Found out that if the seller thinks the buyer is a user or card holder, they would deny me. And if they found out that I had a card, and completed the form, they could get me for perjury. So now Im worried that he put my name on a nation wide list because he did keep the form with my name and address on it. And if i try to buy it again, they would get me. I really want to get a gun but maybe im just over thinking this. Just want your guys thoughts...

Thanks!

"Unlawful user of MJ" sounds like a subjective question. I'd not even tell them about the card...unless you are that worried about perjury. Wouldn't even cross my mind to mention a card honestly. I sure as hell wouldn't ask a Big 5 associate about it. You really worry that much?...but ask some clown at a store MJ questions? What did you expect him to say? "Here pot head have a gun"

there I wrote the aclu media informing them of this policy.

media@aclu.org

I say everybody write them a letter. The more they get the more likely they are to act. especially if they have a specific case to go with.

Hey Lemon,

Fuck that guy! First of all, the govt knows you have a card. If you were worried about that, I'm sorry to burst the bubble about that. And I certainly would not lose any sleep about the perjury thing either. In this economy, there are a shit load of gun dealers out there who would care less whether you are a card holder or not. So forget that asshole, & get on the net, look up an FFL dealer near you, it's a piece of cake!

Schooling someone? That is pretty funny. I couldn't care less where you stand on the ACA, and I wasn't addressing my feelings towards it (which in fact are mostly positive). It was merely the most recent and vivid example of how foolish it is to unequivocally state what is going to come out of D.C.. There is no forecasting what they are going to do in the next 15 minutes, much less "in our lifetimes".

Understood.

But we've had this right for over 200 years. Fairly safe to say it will still be here in 50.

I agree. Fuck that guy.

But in this technological age I would never buy a firearm from a FFL dealer if I had a medical card or any other disqualifier. Eventually the two pieces of data will meet in some super computer and a criminal charge will follow.
It's perfectly legal to buy from a private citizen.

Perjury isn't a serious threat or remote possibility frankly, but possession of a firearm in commission of a felony most definitely is. Forget all the hero bullshit posturing floating around in here. You wanna go to prison for a cause fine, but understand that if you have a gun around your garden you almost certainly will..for a long fucking time.

So make peace with that now brother. I chose to put my legal guns in a place separate from my grow. I hate it but I"ve done my research and know it's most likely the difference between probation and 5-10 should things go bad.

I feel totally comfortable owning guns and having a med card but I will never keep them in the same spot. The only thing that a computer could cross-reference is that I chose to believe my cannabis consumption is medicine and not "abuse," which is a clarification my state government agrees with. That's a very different can of worms than an easy tack of firearms in commission. Besides a med card merely gives you the right to smoke cannabis, it doesn't say that you did or do. I could easily just say that I never smoke the stuff, I just grow it to look at and masturbate to. How can a guy be abusing drugs just because he whacks off to plants? Some bud shots floating around here are pretty fucking hot, it wouldn't be a hard sell.

^do that for now, but everybody here needs to be writing the ACLU about this bull shit.

this policy is a second amendment violation. there is NO federal policy that can legally prevent you from owning, or buying a gun. You contact the ACLU and let them know of this blatant civil rights violation.

there I wrote the aclu media informing them of this policy.

do your best to keep your grows and guns seperate as well.....depends on the county. up in the mountains of norcal its very common for growers and smokers to have guns with them and there are rarely any charges filed...

however in the city, illegal gun + illegal grow is bad news. however i have heard of instances were illegal grow + legal gun = no gun charges, but gun rights were seized for 10 years due to felony cultivation..

THIS IS ONLY FOR CALIFORNIA.....other states might try to prosecute further. in california its pretty standard for guns and grows to go together...i tell all my friends to take their fancy high powered rifles like AR15s, r700s, SCARs, etc to a seperate place from the grow, a family members house or storage unit it best.

for your grow, and for last resort self defense only, keep a smalll pistol with one magazine tucked away and hidden outside of the grow room....you can argue in court that it was not used in a commission of a felony because it was unaccessable...make sure the pistol is legally registered...lawyer up and dont admit to using the gun or anything, a good lawyer can help you out here.

ANYONE IN CALIFORNIA WHOS IN TROUBLE BECAUSE OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA AND GUN POSSESSION contact calguns dot net and ask for advice there, they have a team of good gun lawyers who fight for 2a rights. the MMJ and DOJ form debate was discussed there many times...

hey folks....look into 80% lowers. its the way to go to get a gun and its a nice loophole that most likely wont be 2014 when the anti gun "progressives" want to take more of our rights..

basically you can buy 80% ar15 lowers for under 150 bucks....you dont need to do DROS because its not a complete firearm.

then you take it to a gun shop and get it milled and install your lower parts kits. then you have a compelete lower without DROS..

now you just add barrel and stock and you have yourself a completely legal assembled gun that doesnt require any registration with the DOJ..

im buying a half dozen 80% lowers myself and telling all my friends to get them too.

im also telling everyone i know to buy as many AR15 lowers with bullet buttons and mag-magnets as i can.....starting 2014 they are registering long guns. also SB249 might take effect and if that happens, all AR15s purchased before 2014 become registered assault weapons and you can take off your bullet button and convert it to drop mags!! and add evil black features...

Prop - I would love to know more, can you send a link or something? I am going to buy my AR15 soon and would love to hear more before I buy.

"Besides a med card merely gives you the right to smoke cannabis, it doesn't say that you did or do."

Actually, according to law, someone who is issued a med card cannot purchase or possess firearms.

Just stating facts.

Just to add to your first sentence if I may.

An 80% Receiver is a partially completed piece of material that requires special tooling and skills to be completed and considered a firearm. Unlike a firearm receiver it is not required to be transferred through a Federal Firearms Licensed holder (FFL).

The pic is a lower, minus the stock.

Hey, most progressives are not against guns. It's the small fringe. 80% of dems vote pro-gun.

I'm a progressive, and I love guns. Being part of a political movement does not automatically decide your issues for you.
