17% butterfat??!! Woah!

You don't want to eat that in a sunbeam. LOL :)

I would have taken the job anyway... but I get to serve smiles all day with Boulder Ice Cream and Bongo Billy's Coffee. After 3 months... I can pull such delicious shots of espresso that the shakes I add it to are off the charts.

My blood type is "A" though and diary isn't something I do well. Mayhaps some goat ice cream some day, but nothing commercial. :)

ICE CREAM!!!

I dunno about some of those flavors...

And to answer the question you posed. Anyone with lactose intolerance doesn't like ice cream (or they may like it but can't eat it). Of course all they need to do to eat it is take some lactase (the enzyme) first...

I remember when I lived in New Zealand, the milk and ice cream was so rich there! The dairy farmers are paid according to the butterfat content of their milk and cream, and so it's all as rich as they can make it.

When I returned to NZ a few years ago I went and ordered a bagel and cream cheese. BIG MISTAKE! I could barely eat it, it was so rich! And they put like a pound of it on the bagel too! I had to take half the cream cheese off it, and still my heart gave me fits afterwards! But man it was the best! And of course just finding a bagel in NZ was a big deal as 22 years before there were none to be found!

Well, this may be true with other blood types... but for the "A" blood type it's not a 'lactose' thing. I'm also not about to pick up some processed tablet to help me enjoy a bit of ice cream.

Occasionally I'll eat some ice cream, hack and blow all the snot out in the first 10 minutes, deal with a slightly plugged sinus condition for 24hrs and crap it out 2 days later (If I ate a whole lot). Of all the foods that aren't 'right' for my blood type, it's one of the easier ones to deal with, in small quantities.

Choose your foods by blood type... I can't stress enough how important it is.

p.s. I still LOVE ice-cream. I'll even eat a bit 'cause it's less painful than red-meat. LOL I just don't eat it often.

Edit: Considering your reaction to the cream cheese, I'd guess your blood type to be O or A. B and AB don't have issues with cream cheese. :)

Yes, I'm type O. I never realized your blood type determined how you react to certain foods. Interesting! I'll have to look that up. I wonder also if it has anything to do with the doshas that appear in Ayurveda literature.

IIRC, I'm AB-. What does that mean?

I never had food issues or allergies until I became peri-menopausal. Now I can't eat black pepper, and have problems with rich or high fat foods, ESPECIALLY meats and ESPECIALLY red meats.

However, my husband's carnitas? I can (usually) eat it to my head.

A dinner of homemade carnitas, topped off with a good salad and ended with that sea salt caramel gelato?

I have to keep away from ice cream. It's my biggest temptation.

AB? Means that the cards are stacked against you. The AB blood type has the shortest list of "Beneficial" foods and shortest overall food list, of all the blood types.

You have more foods that will make you 'more' susceptible to certain diseases than any other blood type.

It also means you've probably had problems putting on weight your whole life and don't have much of an appetite.

Once you eat just AB "neutral" and "Beneficial" foods for a while, your 'appetite' will heal itself. There are just so many "BAD" foods for you that your appetite is totally and completely schizoid for you and doesn't know what you should eat.

Lamb and peanuts and pinto-beans are some really great foods for you. :) Beef isn't NOT good for you.

Basically just start going through the list and stop eating anything that's "Avoid" for yourself. Try to maximize your "beneficial" foods each day/week. Just cutting out your avoids will make a huge difference. :D

I'm Type A and I consume ~150g of Whey Protein Isolate daily. Additionally, I consume at least 2 cups of nonfat milk daily. I have no gastric problems whatsoever and I am in great health and am currently sitting at 8-9% bodyfat.

Uh... I have *never* had problems putting on weight, just the opposite, in fact.

When I had the tumor of the parathyroid I was experiencing kidney stones. I had to eliminate foods high in oxalic acids. Now that I'm menopausal, I have issues that resemble gallbladder problems and can't take black pepper. However, throughout my life, I've had few problems with foods, far fewer than my sisters and mother.

I almost wish I had no appetite and problems putting on weight at this particular time.

Beans! Beans & rice for me!
