4SD vertical SOG in coco hempys

It's coming together now should be ready to go right on schedule....if I could only find a case big enough to mount this ballast in I can set it all up and run it to see what my temps are going to be looking like.
I've never gone vertical before, always wanted to, hell I started growing because I seen this crazy Colosseum vert that blew my mind. So keep in mind I'm going to be trying to dial this new set up in for a while.
I need to find either a project box big enough to house the ballast components or a couple old pc's and raid their power supplies; one for me and one for a friend. I've been looking at my desktop all week

Sqydro, thanks for stopping in. This will be a learning experience for the both of us, as this is the first time I've attempted a vertical. Going good so far, lol since nothing is in flower. Hope I could help man.
Well everyone, I noticed last night but had so much going on I didn't get to post. I took the cuts on the 29th, today is the 7'th and we have roots!! So just 8 days all the clones have roots and I spent 8 bucks. Tell EZ-clone to kiss my arse

I am going to leave them in there for a few more days to help develop a better root system, then they will be potted up into 2L coco hempys.
I decided I am going to go with bigger pots and scored those 6L buckets...The plan now is to throw in 5 plants every week until the tent is full.
What I was thinking is this weekend the clones will be potted, I will take 5 of them and pot them into the 6L and get them in the tent. The other 22 will be left in either 2L or 9oz cups depending on how wisely I can use the space I have.
If all goes according to plan, This weekend will be day 1 of the big wait. Ill keep adding every 7 days and keeping track, the 4SD usually finished at its best around day 75-80...So we have short wait and then they will be coming down left and right until I cant handle it.

...hey man, don't forget those Pure Kush x AK47's, i promise you you will find some nice flavors and colors in that cross, ...that pretty purple number i keep posting is one of those, lol.
...and nice find on the drip trays, that store is the shit for cheap plastic stuff.
...oh yeah, if you plan on potting up to the 6liter pots you don't need to transition from the cloner to a smaller container to the 6liter, just pot them up into the 6liters and just water lightly for the first week, after that they should start to really take off.

Tonight was hell. But will be well worth it in a couple of days.
I took all the clones out of the cloner, all of them had roots or a root, but I only kept the well developed ones. So out of 27 clones, I kept 20. Potted them all up and will be throwing them in the tent to veg a bit under 300w of cfl.
I took some pictures, I will be posting them up later as I still have a couple things to square away.
The 4SD #1 rooted up nicely, I took 9 cuttings and kept 8.
The #2's on the other, and seemed to be a little more difficult to root. Most were not developed enough IMO to pot up.
The thing that surprised me the most was that skunk cross I have, took 9 cuttings just like the rest, except they all rooted nicely. I mean NICELY.... The funny thing is this one was the woodiest plant I had.
So now Im working with 20 new clones, sounds great, until I went to put them in the tent with the mothers......
I had no room, I mean none. The only solution I could think of was to take the moms out, and put the clones in, that filled it.
I made a couple calls and hooked up with GEMini GENETiCS, borrowed a 400w MH to throw in my 4x4 to hold the moms down until the beginning of this week. Thanks for that man it was exactly what I needed.
So in a little while I will be setting the 400w MH up in the 4x4 and getting the moms in there for a couple of days. Poor girls are sitting on top of my fridge right now.
Like I said I will be posting some pics later on, I didn't take too many as potting them up was a messy job and I was fighting with my kitten the whole way...Back is killing me now, need to find a comfy way to do this for the future.
Gonna catch a buzz and upload some pics, will be back later. I hope everyone is still interested, If all goes as planned we will be starting the real show on Tuesday.

Haha today was pretty hectic. It is all worth it at the end of the day. I just checked them and they are all reaching for the lights.
Yeah, man I would love to get together and take another look at that ballast, I'm going to be pretty free tomorrow night as well, I'll give you a call tomorrow for sure.
...LOL I just showed her and she got a kick out of that. But that's the truth; I don't want to get her mad...she knows where I sleep lol.

Alright so pictures as promised.
This is one of the 4SD #1. Like I said man they really rooted nicely.
How many cloners are like a "set it and forget it" method and cost about 5 bucks? It really it fool proof.
So here we are going through and potting them up in to 9oz plastic coco cups, going to give them a couple days to adjust and develop more. The lower nodes on the clones are yellowing up a bit, but not shriveled up or anything like past attempts with a prop tray or bubble cloner.
Couple #1's potted up and ready to go. I gave all 20 of them a nice feeding with some Maxibloom, 1.8g/gal.
Sorry I didn't take too many pics this time, like I was saying; I had to fight the kitten the whole way through. There is always tomorrow

Moving along right on schedule. Will have the 400w HPS finished by the end of the day and set up inside the 4x4, going to run the moms first as they blew up way too big for the little tent.
My plans are to yield a solid quarter pound or more out of 5 plants, hopefully every week. Not expecting to hit that on my first run as this whole vertical thing is new to me, but as the weeks go on and I dial in these strains, I think that goal will be easily reached.

Gotta be honest man, Im not sure yet. Its a toss up between racks or a DrBudGreenGenes style sog, but vertically.
I know I will be using all 4 sides, the side on the wall will be where the newest batch sit so they're always small and easy to move. Right now I have the moms just in a circle on the floor around the fan and a 400w MH hanging horizontally above them. (I would try and hang this one vertically; it would need to be remoted like my hps but like I said it's not mine.) That tent is on 12/12 all the time, so the moms are flowering and I have clones to make new moms and to throw in next week. In a couple days Ill have it finalized and up and running. I still need to finish remoting that hps ballast and set it up.
I wanted to do a W.o.W. like Marlo and SOG, but I want to eliminate a veg period. With the wall, you have to let them be a nice size and grow into it..not going to be quick enough for me.

Sorry all, I've been really tied up with company. My older military brother and his wife and kids came down from NC. It was a good time, except they wouldn't quite understand what or why I was doing. Best kept a secret, so my days were spent doing anything that involved keeping them away from the room.
I took some pics today and found some I didn't upload yet. Didn't miss much, all the fun is just starting.

Here is how the moms are doing...
Picture quality really sucks but they are getting bushy, and doing really well.
In the tent there is the strawberry cough, KC x SW, White Rhino, a cross called Happy feet which I can wait to run, and 4SD #1 and 2 then that skunk cross.
I finished the 400w remote ballast from the all in one hood deal with SOG a couple days ago. Works like a charm, I can't put it in the tent for another week when my 8" fan comes in. I'll go get some pics later and get them up here.
So now the show begins. Thanks everyone for checking me out and watching this long interlude, But now everything gets frosty and swells up with nice flowers. Can't wait to see what happens. I'm going to run the hps vertical and MH horizontal...give it a full spectrum and use the most of the hps. stay tuned
