Great to see you back Dr, you helped me tremendously getting started. What happened to the kitty litter trays, how are you dealing with runoff?

Sorry for the troubles, great to see you back. Sending some good vibes your way.

HIGH DR

Long time listener, first time caller!

First let me say.. what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger! ..
you proved this with your re vegged che saw ..

i recently was given a tester air pot at the Treating yourself expo in toronto canada...
it is a little bigger than a dr bud cut up 20 oz ...in fact the 20 oz JUST squweeeeezed inside of it

i have studied and followed the dr bud greenjeans method for years

i run a 14' 1/2 x 14' 1/2 x 25' cab
6x 23 w cfl (138 w) ..
'cool tube ' sealed vented light area...2 x 20 cfm muffin fans (40 cfm)
2 x 10 cfm muffin fans for plant area
5 rows of 5 plants..... harvest 5 plants every 2 weeks

i have wondered about these air pots for years...
i came home from the expo with the one i was gifted....
counted the holes in it (110)..
and then replicated

i use kirkland sport drink 591 ml containers (cost co $10 for 24)
with the round part cut off the top.. (similar to power aid or gator aid)
i got 80 to 90 holes in it easily...
now experimenting with the wrapper off/on to see which works better, if at all...

very interested to hear the good doctors opinion of his air pot! ... i want to see a 28g dried che saw stick!!
.. let us know, Please! i hope the air pot can take this to the next level

ps :thank you:
pps: there was a guy with green jeans on at the expo ... it wasnt you?, right?

Whats up jedimaster! im building my first growbox. i was thinking of doing something like your box but whit HPS, but hear alot of loosing lumens. but what i can see there must be some other rule in light that isnt about lumens? so my question is. would it be better whit 4x150watts then 1 single 600 watt? even tho i loose these lumens? thanks! PEACE

id put that 600 on a light mover..... but either way, that doesnt sound like dr bud style....

buy some cfls, keep the bill, and take them back when they die! instead of replacing every year.... deal with under 200 f instead of 400 600 or 800 f

how big will your box be... you need around 50 - 80 lumins per sq/inch .. dont post ,do math

read for months, then ask questions.. There is too much clutter in forums with people asking the same shit... i know there are whole sections and stickies pertaining to what you ask..

ya im rude, but sometimes you must be to make a point ..........and im not mad at you, just at pointless repetition ... so dont be mad at me... ive been reading dr since 2008, he covers everything (except his new air pot) so read

but if you are growing sog, and you really want hps, the 4 bulbs or 1 bulb with a light mover would provide more penitration.... and either way, smaller bulbs or the bigger with a mover would let you have the plants closer....

until next time, shut up and learn!:woohoo::biggrin:
cuz i wanna know about his airpots...

thats cool. you made your point. ill been reading Drbuds threads over and over , but i quess not enough? "slow headed" !! sorry if my post was "shit" but what ive seen what a single 150W HPS can do. and as he say its hes method not the lights. i just wanted to ask. ill head back to my reading corner and shut the fuck up. yeah im really existed to about the airpots! :D thanks man

That said, I recon a lot of people are eager to hear news from the Doc. I think he's busy doing his thing IRL, so we'll all just have to be patient.

Hey doc the girls are looking beautiful. I have a question if you don't mind I'm a noob and im using your cloning method, now the leaves of the clone are both pointing straight up and its kind of bending to the side is this normal for clones in your set up? Their only under a 28w cfl, its day 2 and the lids still on. Cheers

what do you mean bent over? how tall are they? how high is your perlite? did you pre soak it? did you put a lil extra water in the bottem? do you have it on heat?

i also use this dr bud cloner... and i actually have two of them under a 14w bulb so your def ok there...

and i dont do anything for 7 or 10 days....
i have the two of them on a small reptile tank peel and stick on heat pad

after 7 or ten days i gently pull them up and if they didnt work, i re cut and gel and put back in.. or if they have small roots i put them back in..

but with practice i have been able to take very small cuts like doc... and i think it might be better that way because you bury everything except the leaves... then your baby cant fall over.. if they are falling over because of size

if your cuts are smaller you can get more, faster!

Thank you dr bud for this cloner.... now tell us about your airpot trial!... i dont have roots coming out of mine yet... sooo excited!

I followed the instructions in the Dr bud for dummies thread, I read it 5 times first. Cuttings are about an inch long and 3/4 inch is in the perlite which was soaked with ph 6.0 water and there's water in the bottom(which I can see 1/2 of which has been wicked up in about 4 days). Leaves are pointing up on both cuttings but only one is bending over were the stem touches the perlite. It's my first time cloning so im just going through the noobie jitters...

ahhhhhhhhh dont worry about it ! sounds like you got it covered man....
after ten or 14 days they will still be good, even if they didnt root.....
if that happens, get a sterile blade and re cut and dip in powder or gel and put em back in..... sometimes i make cuts of the really woody parts of other peoples plants after they have harvested... .. it takes longer for these to root, and ive had them stay alive a month in that box no prob...

your doin good ;)

Those are some outstanding plants! I like how they stretched out since the last pictures. I wonder how fat the nugs will can get on these? I wouldn't be surprised to see them on stakes with huge colas soon.

:woohoo: Hell YES!!! The Doc is Back! :woohoo:

Much respect doc, been runnin a cfl sog for almost 3 years now. Ya gotta give us the CFL SOG 102 course....the two headed monster still evades me!

I have run a single "air pot" dew bottle for almost 2 years now. It rocks if you can keep it wet! Ive had to water mine three times in a day before, however it waters very fast. All the bubbles roll out of it almost instantly!

One other thing, I have found a 60/40 mix of coco and perlite to be a total set and forget cloning media. Wet it good, let it drain at a 45 degree angle for a few hours and stick your cuts in. seal it up for two days and then vent for a few mins on day three. with each day increase the length of the vent time and youll have roots in 14 days max, i get em in 7 alot of the time.

Someone needs to gift a set of blumats to the good ol doc! I bet he does some radical shit with those!

Pullin up a chair and sharpening my pencil...class is back is session fella's..

Cheers noble, like I said noobie jitters since my last post the fan leaves have dropped and the main shoot is heading for the light so I think I'm all good. Now that I've stopped filling up the docs new thread with questions.... On with the show. :)

....the two headed monster still evades me!

i just take off the top when there is only two nodes... so when you have the cotyledon leaves plus 2 real sets (4 leaves)......
depending on the strain, it might not get tall enough though...
and thats where i have a problem....
my strains that i have to let get bigger (because they are mad shorties if i top them right away) grow into a a big scrog looking thing..... so maybe it doesnt work with every strain as well... maybe i should make clones off those parts and then see what happens?

how big is your space? how many blubs @ what w? what kind of fan do you vent with + cfm ? do you have a different fan blowing n the plants?

i ask to see if your environment is similar to mine... im interested to see if mine dry out that fast... because without the airpots i only watered once a week, and they were still not dry...

but i only use axial (box, muffin, cpu) fans... and i think the larger fans suck the moisture out.... i used to have a replica dr bud cab(gifted it to a friend in need)... but right im running a 1.5 sq model with a few stealth aspects. i used to have to water more... i want to water more... but not three times a day!

youll have roots in 14 days max, i get em in 7 alot of the time.

i get them 10 days without opening the lid also, very forgiving system............. sometimes im away on biz and my gf '' '' forgets hehe

This does not produce what I am speaking of. This creates two main stems. I'm talking about ONE main stem with TWO full size cola's on top, the rest a classic budcicle. The good ol doc posted pics of this in one of his threads. I think its the Geisha girls thread, but not sure. According to the Doc, doing what you describe creates to many stalks and the cab gets to crowded, starving the lower nodes for light. He says a single stem with two main colas will really increase your total GPW.

Im running 2.7 ft cab with 7x42cfl's and a unknown fan that is rather large. My temps in the cab are what the temp in the house is +2 degrees. Im guessing it is around 400-500 cfm. The entire house is used as a lung room for both my systems. Carbon filtration for this unit is done by the larger system passively. The cab blows out into the open air in the basement and the big room pulls its air from the same open room and then filters cab air with its filtration system, which is way oversized for both together. I smoke cigars in my man cave adjcent to the grows and you cant even tell the next day. Always smells like a crisp mountain mornin' down here. I also have a smaller veg/clone/mom box filtered the same way. There is no supplemental fans in any of my grows, with the exception of the fan cooling the bulb in my vert system, but its not aimed anywhere close to the plants.

Pic of everything are posted in my galleries and threads. Check em out via my profile, not gonna hijack the docs thread anymore than i already have........
