Chow Mix, 600's, Recirculating

hey BC, I'm dyin to figure out other ways to use the floc.. ebb n flo.. works pretty sweet..
just inspected the girls and the floc bucket is pretty crazy... the nugs are bigger than the coco and no popcorn solid top to bottom....i'll get around to some pics if u wanna c em

back to your buddies technique that sounds like the grows that got me interested in it..
I tried handwatering in little pots with clones.. they werent happy... they were in saucers not drain to waist... they seemed wet as hell forever....didnt wanna drink the water in the drain pan
so does he drain to waste.. or ghetto style with catch pans? Im also thinkin I didnt flush out the rockwool soak stuff... maybe I just need to rinse it out with phd water for awhile?
any help from you and your buddy would be much appreciated ... still got two totes of it

I'm liking the flo and gro more and more as I get it dialed! the fitted liners are cool.. pumps need to be checked but its like autopilot.. pretty sick

No problem man. He runs drain to waste with the 6 of the 10 gallon pots in each 4x8 flood tray with 2K over each tray with vertizontal reflectors, The white ones... He says he has both the pebbled finish and white and the white ones make bigger buds every time. He runs DM Gold 2 part and hygrozyme. The trick to grodan and hortifiber flock is you need to pre soak it in a 3x ph down nutrient solution. So mix up a batch of nutes like you normally would and measure out how much ph down it takes t bring you down to 5.6 and then you know you need 3x that amount of ph down for your pre soak. He says 24 hours is best but he has gone as fast as a half hour in a pinch. Other than that he pre veges his cuts for next round under t5's in 1 gallon pots of flock fed dtw by hand every other day. Thats basically it man. Let me know if you need to talk with him and I can point you in the right direction.
BC - Nice clean room you've got here. I'll be following along for the show

Thanks man, I always try to do my best when I build. I hate half assed shit and fire hazards.:dance013:

thanks again bc... very helpful!

gonna soak some tomorrow and give it a shot

I'll be following this one... got a few questions..

What are your room/table dimensions?

What model ballast/bulb are you using? Digi/Mag?

I assume that first box you built in the pics is your 100gal rez? How did you know what size to build it out to for the given capacity?

How many btu is your AC?

What is your power setup like? Seeing that you have spent some time in bigger spots I'm wondering if you maybe run a custom panel or something of the like?

When talking about your manifold design a few posts back you mentioned "9 or even 5 per light", what are you referring to here? Is this a yield estimate? If so, I don't get it..haha

Nice Looking Good...

Thanks Jack, your not too shabby yourself there!
I'll be following this one... got a few questions..

What are your room/table dimensions? My table is 82"x82" so minus the thickness of the plywood each 600w light has a 40" square area. The room itself is 82" x 96" with a small 2' nook for an additional res and a shelf with dehumidifier.

What model ballast/bulb are you using? Digi/Mag? mag core ballasts, 600w plant max bulbs. Cheap ass batwings.

I assume that first box you built in the pics is your 100gal rez? How did you know what size to build it out to for the given capacity? I just did the math, I'm a Carpenter by trade so shit like that comes wit the job

How many btu is your AC?
I run a 1 fan Cancoil chiller. It produces roughly 14000btu of cooling
What is your power setup like? Seeing that you have spent some time in bigger spots I'm wondering if you maybe run a custom panel or something of the like? Its just a simple 6 light 240v board with 2 additional timed 120v outlets. It runs on a Intermatic T104 timer and I have it wired with a dryer plug.

When talking about your manifold design a few posts back you mentioned "9 or even 5 per light", what are you referring to here? Is this a yield estimate? If so, I don't get it..haha I was actually referring to the number of plants per light

Hope that helps, I can get a shot of the timer board for you.

I got a few pics in there before my camera flash died so only a couple turned out. Sorry about the shitty pics anyways...

First is my WiFi #8 which is my closest to a white pheno but still has that og look to it and the second is my WiFi #6 which looks to be the biggest yielder. Nice rock hard chunks on this one. Looks to be a Fire leaning pheno. I'm going to keep both for more observations!

So these are day 42

Here is the simple power board. 6 240v timed outlets and 2 timed 120V outlets. To the left on the board is my green air pump cycle timer. I had the pump plugged into constant power at the time of the pic while I was mixing a fresh res.

Check this out, a Stealth Grow Freezer. This is how I do my mothers and clones for my small sog. I can get around 100 cuts per month out of this space with healthy mothers.

Self contained, 250w MH, 4" fan/Carbon scrubber, root cuts up top:tiphat:

Those nugs are getting chunky!
thanks VP! The white fire og definitely came around last 10 days or so, i'm loving the og chunks! Just need to veg some mothers out now so I can run a full table. I think I will replace the Garberville with the OG. I plucked fans at day 38 to let some light through to the lowers but now the ones I left are filling it back in lol.

I snuck back in with a fresh battery charge on the camera to get some more pics. So these are day 43 night

Chem4 or imposter

Chem4 or imposter

So Chiefbigsmoke planted the idea in my head that the chem4 I have might possibly be an imposter. What do you guys think? I think it might look more like the D than the 4???? She was begging for calmag but I didnt give her any because she is sharing the same res with 95% of the rest of the crop. I vegged 2 weeks and they went about 44" on me. Got a bit shit kicked from the fans and burned from the light being to close so whatever it is I did not do it justice... There are 2 in there and one of them got bleached from the bulb and the other did the ramshorn thing on me. I plucked the fans off as well and these are from day 43

whats your opinion? Real or fake?

Imposter, looks more like chem sister not D or 4. IMO
Nice fuckin show though!

thanks man, you know what? I think your totally right. I just did a bit of looking into chems sis and its pretty darn close.

whatever it is 4 or D it's a monster... well freakn' done bcmaster its hard to think they will go 70 days.. they will be HUGE :)

awesome stealth freezer too!
Yep she's packing it on late thats for shizzy. I wont be taking it to 70 though unfortunately. I will cut her throat at 56 days finished or not, need to get the next batch of clones in there!

Hey BM your show is inspiring! I like it a lot :)
Do you think the chow mix or GL 80/20 would be effective for trees in 20 gal pots? My objective would be to maintain maximum aeration of the medium for maximum growth with hand watering daily, no/minimal waste, with dripclean for salt protection.

Thanks TG! If you find a place that stocks the 80/20 mix let me know! IMO 80/20 would be just about right but I'm thinning out to 75/25 next round. I think the chow would rock in large containers but I have never done it myself, this is my first try with the chow mix. I think Jalisco Kid runs chow mix in 30 gallon trash cans but he uses a layer of whiffle balls or practice golf balls at the base instead of hydroton which is key for drainage. I do keep a bottle of drip clean on hand but I opted not to use it because I'm recirculating with low ppm so I didnt think that I need to use it but I'm not too sure what to think of it as of yet. Sorry cant help ya there man.
