AK 48 is Jock Horror/ Ice - - I think Nirvana's description says that AK48 leans to the Sativa side, with POSSIBLE 48 day finishers... whatever that means.

I mean, how can a Sativa flower in 48 days??. Cmon.

^^
I have 2 of them going from seed right now - 20" tall - Feb 1st planting from seed - they look like my Trainwreck. ie Crazy Sativa

Where did you come by the info AK48 is Jock Horror/Ice?

I've grown AK48 and Jock. Jock is NL/Skunk x haze and some phenos are HUGE. And they were grown side by side, with the Jock needing to be bent over, tied down and LST'd to the max, while even the Satty AK's were pretty short. I saw nothing to indicate any relation between the two strains. The Purple Skunk Mau uses might be a common ancestor, but I'm just not seeing any relation.

Not saying it's not true, I just don't see it.

Phenotypes can usually vary quite a bit, depending on the strain and how much work and time the breeder put into stabilizing them.

When I pop F1's, there's usually 3 basic phenos. A mother leaner, a father leaner and a good mixture of the two. Then with F2's and on, you get all kinds of variation.

Same goes with S1 or fem beans. One pheno will be like mother A, one pheno like mother B and then a good mixture of the two.

So you can have 3 beans of the same exact strain and get 3 completely different looking plants. Just an FYI to whoever cares to read this...

So yeah they are cheaper because that's their business model. Their prices are not correlated to perceived quality or popularity. I have grown two of their strains, white castle and eldorado, and was super impressed by both. Especially Eldorado, a distinctly confident high. Buy Nirvana and you will buy Nirvana again.

I am burning some ak48 right now! Run it 2 years...didn't exactly "select" a mother but kept the one that worked out...its good weed...it gets better every time...yields well not super dense....not fluffy...I push it up to 14 weeks but you can take it at 10 if you need the smoke. I have run the PPP, Master Kush, and Aurora Indica, my AI didn't go so well I really wanted it to...2 females both runty Hermes...but it was likely something I did...god damn that seems like a long time ago...

I almost lost my 48 here a bit back....took some clones and sent mom into flower and lost every single clone...I was bummed...but then I found a bean in some 48 I was smoking and 100% sure its self'd . I noticed like one manner early on 3 weekish into flower and by week 12 a few more. Anyway I got that bitch all tied up and stretched out vegging making me some clones and gonna run it.

I also have some ppp x coastal collision and 48 crossed to the CC as well...

I used to run the master Kush and frankly its nice to have the 48 its a stand by...not super potent. But it does the trick.

Whatever you do collect male pollen...MAKE SEEDS. My seeds are my backup..nice to know they are there..

Meanwhile I slowly work through my f2 CC looking for that one that's just right. It'll be neat to see what the 48 and ppp crosses do. I had terrible luck with their PPP..low females and not much to write home about. But you never know when nature does its thing....hell I've had undesirable plants in all seeds at some point ..nirvana is great would not hesitate to order them if I ever had to...which hopefully I won't ever have to..

Tried to run Aurora indica a few years ago and only managed 1 plant the rest didn't germ, was a nice looking indica. I flowered it and someone also flowered a clone, it was a dud, virtually tric-less, smell like pot pourri, couldn't get a fly high, nice autumn colors during flush:biggrin:
I'm giving them another chance with a pack of Maui

Nirvana and their sister company Sativa Seed have some interesting offerings. One in particular is SS's New York Power Diesel (Aurora indica x mexican sativa). We crossed it to reservoir's chemdog x sour diesel for our Sour Dog. It resulted in a "big girl" pheno that in Sgt. Stedanko's test grow yielded an elbow from a single indoor plant. He's got a test thread in the HOL section if you care to check it out.

I'm not a big fan of aurora indica itself, but the NYPD cross is epic. Large branchy plants with medium density buds.

i also have had nothing but good results from them

its funny how people sometimes compare seeds to a caddilac or a ferrari

you get what you pay for, i say bullshit, also cheap seeds can be very good
Well said, yes you can find a good bean anywhere, its odds. Yes paying low prices for decent grow yourself smoke better than any street dealer, and most shops, it can be done. I got snow white from them, and plan more picks too. Some will rag on picking nothing but top knotch, but not all of us fall in that catigory, or have the means, trust me I smoked out of sax that had more seeds and stems than bud, and that sucked balls. Nirvana will be way better than that!

i was pretty happy with my nirvana purchases. really happy about some of them, ok with others.

and yeah, i agree with the statement about them not being cheap, its the other venders that are too expensive.

I love Nirvana seeds, I'm growing out their Mango/Papaya right now, started 6 seeds, all of them popped and are healthy. I grew the White Rhino before, really top notch stuff.

Well Nirvana isn't exactly breaking ground in terms of breeding..BUT they are a very nice value for the money..you can possibly find a keeper in a pack of their more popular strains 9ak48,whtie rhink,bubblelicious]....like everything else it is pheno hunt..

I have experience with their ak48..Iv grown it several times..also their PPP....out of every other strain Iv grown..their ak48 has been the most vigorous...very fast vegger...overall virgor..you can flower very small and itll still end up big...with some plants having a heavy, sickly, fruitloops smell...yum

the ak48 usually cures however..to a sharp, tangy, orange chemical like smell....

so to sum it up,nirvana strains are very nice for the beginner..or for someone on a budget...

Ive ran the Blackberry and the Black Jack, both a Black Dominica mom, 1 a razzberry dad and the other the Jack Horror dad, both nothing but quality, very happy with the results.

In our first grow after a almost 7 year absence from growing, we had the White Rhino herm out at week 3 of flower in perfect environmental conditions. But, the Nirvana Chrystal produced 1\2 lb. of dry bud and it's one of the favorites among my people.

As someone said here, maybe they do more copying then creating but if it's good genetics who cares?

If we do another white rhino and it herms again I may change my opinion.

I agree their ak48 is DEF NOT a copy of serios ak47..they themselves have said it..its more like ice/something...way different genetics..they jsut used the name to capitilize on the popularity of ak47...

but i stand by what i said..they offer good genetics at a VERY good price...as far as seed price politics..im not getting into that one..considering for elss than a hundred..you should get more than 5 ounces..which is obvisly worth much more than the initial investment...

i DONT agree with all these new fly by nighter "breeders"...wow..theyr coming out the woodwork..

i've run just 2 nirvana breeds, PPP and california orange
i'll give them their due, both had buds soaked in resin
i wouldn't necessarily describe them as the highest powered strains, but good and matched grow log descriptions
which will make me a repeat customer

Nirvana is cool for their price... at least they dont charge for what they sell, as most of the so called seedbanks do, just selling crap priced as gold! I mean all the simple crosses, knockoffs, etc...

And Nirvana used to have really nice and interesting stuff as when Positronics went bankrupt and Werner's stock (keep in mind that many stuff came from Sam Skunkman himself) was robbed by his workers, many banks started to work from those genetics in their own seedbanks... one of them was Nirvana. So expect good stuff, at least from old stocks.

Ran a pack of their purple power back in the day. It was my first grow and i ran them outdoors. Found a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL indica girl that turned completely purple and looked like magic with bright orange hairs. Ran a lot of purp strains since then and never saw anything like that one.

Determined to find it again, i got two more packs the next year and ran them. Nothing but tropical sativa looking lime green crap lol. So thats nirvana for ya. Pretty much a toss up, but a great way to get into growing for beginners imho.
