If I were you, I'd be putting those 70 hours a week into an accounting degree. Know how to read your own balance sheet. If you can't understand where your money is going and why, your future is in the hands of the people you pay to understand it for you.

My honest opinion. Stay at home and be the best father you can be to your children.

Teach them everything you can and they might just teach you a thing or two.
Forget about the wealth, don't try and get your head around it. Put it at the back of your mind and forget about it. Income sorted.

Spend your free time looking for positive & fun things for your family to do. Take them on a yacht trip around the globe, something character building like that.

You haven't been given wealth. You have been given the gift of time with your family.

I can understand still working even if you don't need to because there is more to working then just earning a paycheck. It's also about taking pride in an ability and/or feeling like a positively contributing member to society. What I can't understand is working so much overtime. If I were you and it was possible to cut back to 40 hours and maybe let some unemplyed person pick up at least 30 hours then that's what I'd do.

I mean as long as it's all done and official and you've started to recieve money from the trust you should at least understand you don't have to worry too much about living a nice comfortable life fully confident that everything is covered and will continue to be as long as you don't get too crazy with things.

Managed wisely the kind of wealth that's been suggested has only one thing to really worry about and that is total economic collapse which would also likely be part of a total societal collapse. Based on that thought, the smartest things to spend your wealth on would be things that make your life self sufficient and sustaining. Things like maybe a combination of solar, wind and geo-thermal to make you energy independent. Bling is nice and all in the short term but that's how all these lottery millionaires and pro atheletes and movie stars go broke. They waste their money on flashy things with little thought for just how functional it is to them. To give you an example if say you're a person who has little ability for appreciating the subtle quality difference of a top shelf Hi-Fi system. Then how would your money be most wisely spent? Thousands on the best of the best recievers, amplifiers, speakers, etc. That must be carefully handled and maintained, simply because you can afford to and having such a system would impress people? Or a few hundred on a decent, reliable, all in one system, that requires no special handling or maintenance and will do a good enough job to satisfy you?

Buddle is right about the apperence/behavior of rich people. What gives rich people away the most is where they live but away from home out doing ordinary things they look and act far different. I remember going to a pool party for the season opening at this really ritzy condominium hi-rise complex. I had a friend who's family had money and they bought her a condo there so she'd always have a place to call home. Her's was one of the smallest basically a one bedroom apartment and yet it cost more the most single family homes. The Penthouse floors had much larger more luxurious places though that went for millions. Anyway at this party food was included in the form of pizza from one of the more upscale pizza places in the area. There also were a group of older women who owned some of those penthouse condos that looked like poor starving old women trying to struggle to get by on social security and food stamps. They made several trips from their seats by the pool, to the pizza stand (to get a plateful of pizza), then up to their condo, then back to the pool (without pizza) to get more pizza. After about 4 of those trips they got a fifth plate, and went to where they were sitting at the pool party and ate that pizza. Given that a plateful was about 1/4th of a large pizza they essentially scarfed up a whole free large pizza to eat later and then came back and ate a normal amount at the party. Not exactly what one would expect of people that can afford multi-million dollar condos.

My wife grows out her hair, and sends it to some place that makes wigs for cancer patients.

Wonder if you could start an NPO, giving those less fortunate the gift of dreads?

If you want some real financial advice, go and start snapping up foreclosed property and renting it out. Rental property is an inflation proof investment, and in our current economic climate, a no brainer.

Don't waste your money, or time. No reason to spend 70 hours a week doing anything, you are not passionate about. People that have money, make their money work for them.

DO NOT give those dreads that are full of filth to someone with cancer/immune system issues.
