yeah not bad herb, nice to see a bit of sunshine ive been planting my toms and peppers out in the greenhouse.

cheers shhh. here are a few pics from friday, 9-10 weeks in i think but i need to check back and make sure that is correct. hard to tell from the pics maybe but these buds are still plumping up nicely! they arent as big as when i grow this cut under a bigger light but i have to say they are VERY impressive for 28 watts!
also the plant stinks but the ghetto can filter is working great, no smell until you take the bin off

cheers blynx, at least another couple of weeks i think. gonna take a good look at it tomorrow and maybe train it a bit to get the outside buds into the middle. the light could do with being a bit further from the tops to get a wider footprint but i cant raise it any more.

I just tossed together a clone starter (had 5 clones in a glass of H2O). After about 4 days it occurred to me that I usually clone in my DIY bubbler, but that area is occupied. So I tossed together a clone bubbler, using an old small single head air pump which was to small for much, but perfect for my mini-cloner. I am using a one pound plastic jar from the dollar store, I dropped in a small Oxystone cylinder, wrapped the lid with heavy duty Al foil, cut a hole big enough for a small net pot, inserted clones: net pot is very light weight as are the clones I then put a clear quart size dome over it. Well, sufficient moisture now rises up to cloud the dome, so I do not need to lift the dome ans spray it throughout the day. My percentage of clones that root is already pretty high, and am expecting similar results using this DIY kit.

tatz, when trying to get an efficient grow. its always a balancing act between having strong light on your plants (bigger buds) and having enough 'footprint' to fit in a reasonable amount of buds (more buds).
as you raise the light, the footprint gets bigger (more buds) but the intensity gets weaker (smaller buds). i think with LED you want around 40-50 watts per square foot
so with an 11 inch circular footprint - thats about 0.65 square feet and about right. atm its more like 8-9 inches and the buds in the centre are much bigger than the ones round the outside.

Hey, I enjoy VGs DIY solutions, like making individual scrog nets (genius). Also your DIY LED tests have inspired many to advance LED tech, and given me plenty of ideas, though I use HO T5s in my main tent due to cost; less than $400 to grow in a 2 X 4 area. One can now buy awesome solderless LED kits from RapidLED
