benny with co2 the higher temps are good, if you can keep it like it is you will like it, after using a chiller i would opt for a bigger one if you can afford it and plan on building a insulated box around your 55 gal res.

i was running a sealed room for a few months but went with fresh air and bare bulbs and a ton of exaust extraction and sure like it better, buds are tighter and seem like more resin. its hot here to and im using a swamp cooler to cool veg and flower, high temp in the flower room so far was 81.

Shit I hope this doesnt end up kicking me in the ass. So far everything is going great but I dont know how hot it can get with Co2. When it is above 85 degrees outside I need some type of cooling.

I am debating whether to chill the resev for liquid cooling or just chill the air in the tents with A/C.

I dont know how I will deal with the condensation with a liquid cooling system. Even with an ICEBOX, is there a drain line on it? Once the water is cooled enough things will condense like mad.

I been reading a DYI water chiller thread using a standard 6000btu window a/c unit. I found a deal on craigslist for a 5500btu a/c for 20 bucks. Its older but works well still so I well use this to test out the liquid cooling and how cold I actually need the reserv. to be in order to maintain 83-85 degrees. If it works then I will invest in a real water chiller.

Dont laugh I need to brush up on some science science but I gotta question about the water condensation.

When a cold coil in a hot room causes condensation it is actually lowering humidity of the room if that condensation water could be collected and drained away?

As the air cools the water molecules arent able to stay in the from of a water vapor gas, they condense and from into a liquid.

So your basically condensing water vapor and removing it from the room right?

Yo,
84 to 89F is perfect with CO2. In this forum people says that you shouldn't pump them over 1100ppm. Pay attention to leave tips, if they go up, this is the sigh that they absorbing more CO2 in higher temps. I cant remember how they call it. Show to us some pix of these co2 pumped girls. They should look very healthy.

Thanks for the post amgio! I read the same thing but the cheap control I bought does not give me the privilege of selecting Co2 level. It is all preset.

Once I get a harvest and figure out the ROI i'll invest in a nice sentinel CHHC-4 so I can control cooling, heat, humidity, co2, and be able to input deadbands.

Ill snap some pics later when the lights pop on......what I need to do is switch my lighting cycle so my flower lights are on during the night. Just throws my schedule of so much.

i have built two chillers with old ac units and it does work, the ice box doesent have a drain fitting attached to it but its easy to make one, i had my water temps at close to sixty and air coming through the ice box was about 80 degree . that was with a 8in fan blowing through it. even made a ice bos out of a heater core that worked better that the boughten one.

what kind of 8" fan was it and how many CFM was it? I was looking on ebay for alternatives to that over priced ice box and came across a watered chilled intercooler for a turbo charged car.

It was 24" long 7" wide and 2" thick. I am thinking about buying it and attaching one of those dual intake/exhaust window fans to it to.

I dont know if that fan setup would have enough juice to have any cooling effect.

My lil tropf bluemats showed up today.

They took a little while to install but are pretty awesome. I am diggin' the the fact no pumps/electricity are needed to run the lil sobs'.

Cant wait to see how they work....it will be pretty awesome no having to water the plants in flower...makes me life so much easier.

Did you know they are made in AUS? I always thought they were made in Europe somewhere.

One week down, today is their third full day with Co2. They are for sure drinking a lot more and seem to be wanting more nitrogen. Not sure, Co2 is a new learning curve. @ 88 degrees

The bluemats....these things are so nice. I used drippers hooked it to timers and pumps before but the bluemats are a night and day difference. Should be able to handle ACT well.

The veggin department. These plants will each got a scrog screen and are planned to go into the LED tent on the 27th of this month. This batch is all organic. The plants in bloom right now are COCO with synthetics.

Nice grow, like your writing style as well - gives me a chuckle.

Question, though - why are you bothering to chill your reservoir if using Blumats? Is it simply for the watercooled chilling idea? I'd rethink that and instead just get a "standard" AC and call it a day.

Ya know Tommy I would but running standard A/C in a tent seems more difficult then water cooling it.

I would either have to cut a section out to mount a window A/C or get a dual hose portable and deal with hose extensions.

The bluemats have their own reserv. Check ya later dude.

Benny, I deleted your comment about pumping CO2 off gasses from your water heater into your grow, that is an extremely dangerous tactic, it wouldn't take much human error to potentially kill everyone in their sleep. Please take more care, use the proper equipment that is designed for CO2 saturation in a growing environment.

Bobblehead used/uses this same setup in his pods. He bought a radiator fan for a car (1000 cfm I think?) though. Plumbed to a small res with a chiller. PM him for more info. Seemed to work well for him from what I remember.

Thats good to know dude, thanks! I will be in contact with bobblehead. I know I have checked his journal out before, that is some rad stuff over there! I dont remember seeing his cooling setup, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Dear magical Diary,

Bluemats are the jam, they are the motha effin’ bees knees, the peanut and the butter spread on that dank whole wheat bread, you know the shit with like honey oaks baked on the crust, they are the pimpin’ of the pimps, they are damn near marvelous!

They are like wishing you would get homeworked assigned from your sex education class. Shit is just awesome…you following me?

I can’t believe I have grown without them for the so long! It’s like a life without beef jerky- friggin’ impossible…….forgetaboutit’

They make me feel all cool and shit, I just turn the little dial and they start pumpin out water until my hussies can’t take no more pumpin’.

That right there, ladies and gentlemen, is some pretty super rad shit.

Since pluggin' my girls with these bluemats and adding the Co2 I can tell a big difference in growth.

I’ve been taking measurements of these sloppy broads like a total pervert. Between the 4th and the 6th, under 48 hours, they grew 3.5 inches.

That is a lot in my books because I have never seen that much growth from my plants in such a small time frame. Don’t be bustin’ my chops now, that is good in my books!

I was gone over Saturday night, when I came back home Sunday morning, the plants were noticeable bigger. I aints ever had no business like that happens' to me before Reggie. I could see the difference; normally I can’t see growth when it happens....that shit just does...ya feelin' me Reggie?

P.S.

So are you saying they grew 3.5 inches in 48 hours? Impressive.

hahaha thought it was!......arrre you messing with me?!

They are averaging 1.5" a day now. I am raising my bulb an inch everyday. Keeping the bottom of the filament level with the tops of the plants so I get a decent stretch to fill the shizaa in.

benny i think your water cooled rradiator thing will work very well if you get a good chiller, its all about cold cold water in those things, if i remember right bobble got a 1hp chiller off ebay for next to nothing, i tried and tried to find one at a good price and never did.

So this is my first vertical grow. I gotta admit, Im not 100% about how close/far I should keep the bulb..

Right now Im thinking all the hussies are 6"-8" away from the bulb and as of now, I am keeping the bottom of the filament even with tops of the plants.

I think when I hit week three Ill drop the bulb in lower because I am assuming the stretch will be pulling back by then.

How does all that sound?

On a different note I did a good amount of training. I thinned out all the small nonsense crap and installed some chicken wire screen to form a "doughnut" shape.

Ill post some pics up tomorrow. Peace out Reggie.
