Might as well stick to black....This old turdbox of a computer is on its last legs anyway....its all black and white now....

Sunday Afternoon. Closing down April....Got some time...lets drift.

You know...when I started this whole Legal shit away back...two years ago....didn't know how it would work. The first year I went nuts, grew 28 and I managed to stay off the powers that bes' radar. I did make a few mistakes, the biggest was going with mostly regrows and allowing a patient to provide the seeds she wanted to grow. That season was cronicaled in part 1....yea..I spelled cronical wrong...I know.... Dumped the vast majority of that crop off island. The first year I had the trimmers and the crazyness that comes with a large harvest....but it was done by the new year. And part 1 is out there...just not on this channel.

Last year I did things from seed...Part 3...this channel...dumped the picky patient...but then Green Harvest paid me a visit. Bastards took a little less than half...but that wasn't the disaster it should have been. Because GH put the harvest back by a good month the off island market was weak...flooded. Kept the whole trip in house and on island. No crazy trimmers....no madness with export and an enormous amount of product changing hands...and it worked out way smoother. I'm not terribly upset with half of two years ago's take. This year, like last, I'll do all the trimming myself. So over the last few years I have gone from 28 plants to 21 (but I only harvested 10) and this year only nine big ones. And I should pull more this season, with the clones, than what I got last year out of the deal.

At the end of April I have about a quarter of the last years harvest left. This time of year the island dries out. Those wonderfull, delicious clones don't have the yield to cover the local market, so a lot is shipped in from the mainland. We are about to head into dry times....to bad, so sad...

Anyway...the first year I was sweatin....trying to find 28 holes on this property...that couldn't be seen from off of it. It doesn't help if I find a well hidden spot if I can't get water to it either...or there is no dirt there...So I had to find 28 perfect spots....and they weren't there. By going smaller it allowed me to close down the marginal holes. Last year...much easier. I knew where to look. This year I can't get any better spots so it's time to improve the ones I have.

Wait...time to get preachy....want to know what the best defense against rippers is? Sure you do. It ain't dogs or traps or guns or direct current...though that last one is fun. If you get to that point where you need any of those things your already fucked.

The best defense against rips is you don't let them know your business. They can't see them from the other side of the fence. They can't swipe what they don't know about. And a pile of dogs doesn't hurt either.

So Keep Your Pie Hole Shut.

Where was I? Improving the holes...

Ever tried to hide a twelve foot plant? Sometimes it can't be done. There are certain holes I can't get away with that. So those holes get clones. Then you have the gulch...can hide trees there. I spend a lot of time there. So let's make it pretty.

Before

picture.php

What do you do with a steep slope, rocks and dirt? Make terraces and planters. Since the plants won't be real big....the planters won't have to be either.

After

picture.php

These are easy to make. Find a spot with good sun. Strip out the existing dirt. Build a retaining wall. Bring in the drip line. Backfill with dog shit compost on the bottom, layer of topsoil, bag of soil...I like Foxfarm Ocean...if you have shitty soil....backfill the whole thing...more dirt, more FF, mix it lightly...bang...done.

Now admitted...I'm very lucky. The soil here is new volcanic ash and we don't get a lot of natural rain so it isn't leeched out like a lot of Hawaii has been. You can easily plant in straight dirt here with very little loss of growth. And the last couple of years I have stuffed the holes with goodies so this year I can coast on the work that was done earlier.

The clones will be a whole new wrinkle. I should be harvesting nine of these holes every two months. That should add up to a couple of lbs every cycle. They do fatten up quick.

Gee LSY...thanks for reminding me of something I'd rather forget.

And Rusty, I'm very sorry for the poor quality of the bud porn. These things do indeed take time. Here's a taste of last year...

Shit...

Lost my Alpha dog last night. About 6 PM last night Dude threw a clot and had a massive stroke. Two hours later he passed peacfully.

picture.php

And then there were eight.

Today will be absolutly no fun. As soon as the sun rises it's time to dig another deep hole out in the coffee.

Dude was fourteen...and in poor health....so it wasn't unexpected. Still it leaves a big hole in the pack...and they will probably scrap it out to find out who is the next Alpha...realy lookin' forward to that...

Shit. I need coffee....and a fat joint...thank God that won't be hard to arange.

Wifey found Dude at the post office. He was one of those puppies the Humane Society tells you to take home and they will find out who's dog he is and call you. Sucker. If you fall for that, the damn dog is now yours, stupid.

So we fell for that. Dude became alfa without any blood being shed. Fuckin' dog was too smart. And that one...I will miss. He had class.

Anyway...serving up one shitty day...Order up!

Nameless...Canni grew some of my work indoors...and it gave him nothin' but grief. So not planting that seed is smart.

Lets psyche up and go dig that hole.

Many condolences OH. :frown:

Nameless; The Rod crosses that I ran indoors acted more like thai quadrupling in size before budding, and produced lanky and fluffy buds.

Pure Rod AKA gainesville green dose fairly well with denser and very hairy nugs. My biggest bitch is lack of bag appeal. Great smoke and effect, but looks schwaggy.

On the plus side, the trim and fluffy buds that I couldn't bring myself to jar produced some of the finest hash of any run thru the bags yet!! :tiphat:

None the less, I've got 3 more Gainesville seeds up, found 1 new female, still waiting for sex on the other 2.

I'm sorry about Dude passing. I lost a friend recently too. It was very sad but when I looked at it another way it was not so bad. My dog had had a great life in the countryside, long walks and lots of love and companionship. He was part of the pack and a happy dog.
In your case if you'd not come into his life what might have happened to Dude? Would he have lived 14 years and got to be leader of a pack?
Fourteen years for a dog is a long life. Sounded like he had a happy one too. No reason to be sad about that.

Sorry to her about your dog but glad he went quick. And thanks for your very info on your grows and I have to agree on your security. Loose lips sink ships I know I have been on a few just jumped off in time. How big are your clones when you put them out?

Another sunny day.

Can't beat the weather. The rainy season never was. Hell, winter hardly happened at all. Now we're in summer early, the trades are cranking, sunny and dry with humidity @ 60% in the days and our usual in the 90% at night.

This should be an interesting week. The powers that be should fly Green Harvest this week. In preperation for that...I'm gonna hang around the house this week.

picture.php

Took my first plant this week. One of two Headband clones...down. Looks yummy. I like to slow dry the herb, so I'm not gonna taste it for at least a month. Did a little experimenting with those two. The first, harvested plant, I cut the water off to two weeks ago. She had rot in only one spot. The second plant is a week behind the first and I didn't cut the water off. That plant has rot in a few places. Already. She's now dry. I'll cut her before the next cloudy strech.

That clone was outside, inground since the beginning of March....so it was outdoors for....that's eleven weeks and change. Add to that five weeks of 24 hour light and these clones are going for four months total. Dirtboy, I put the clones out when they reach the lights at 24 inches. It takes a month outside to trigger them fully off and they double in height. Using that schedule I gotta get the wave I hope to harvest Labor Day....Shit. Should start them like...NOW.

Add that to my todo list.

The plants from seed are starting to get interesting. I have all the males culled out and picked my keepers. All have shown sex, all girls...Those plants are about four ft tall. And they should start to jump. I expect to see a foot of growth a week....key word should.

So now we have to start looking ahead. Back when I started the seeds...the plants looked sooo small. Not any more. In just a few months....everything looks...now....everything looks to scale. In a few more months to come the plants will overwhelm the garden. I have to lay the plants over sideways, and build the frames. Ideally I'd like to make plant fans. You can't do this too early. But you gotta do this smart. Can't shade anything, and the object is to spread the plants out and eat as much space as possible.

So that's on this week's schedule...Eat some space.

Hey everybody...thanks for your kind words on the loss of Dude. Last season the same thing...another dog croaked and was planted. Well this time things are different. Fuck moping

Say hello to the new member of my family.

Puppy...Unamed so far. My first one in a decade...German Shepard father hopped the fence and nailed my friends Blue Pit mom. One puppy resulted...this one...soon to be part of my improved security system.
